The next day, Cassidy was super worried Ryder would drag her to the hospital, so she stayed in her room until really late before heading downstairs.
But, surprise! Ryder was waiting for her. As soon as she came down, he stopped her. "Last night, you said it was too late for a hospital check-up. Well, we can go now!"
Ryder looked at Cassidy, dead set on taking her to the hospital today. "Those idiots think you're pregnant, but I don't buy it! That just doesn't make sense. There's no way, right? Let's go to the hospital and clear this up."
Cassidy hesitated. She knew she had no choice but to go with Ryder, but she was super worried the doctor would find out she wasn't pregnant.
Last night, Easton had told her it was okay to go to the hospital, which made her think he had set something up. She wanted to ask him about it, but he left early, and she had no idea where he went.
Seeing Cassidy's reluctance, Owen quickly jumped in to defend her. "Cassidy already said she's pregnant; what are you doubting? Do you think she'd lie about something this serious?"
Owen was such an innocent kid; he believed everything Cassidy said. Watching Ryder hassle her made him really mad.
Ryder glared at Owen. Ever since Owen insisted on breaking off the engagement with the Moore family, Ryder didn't want to deal with him. "This is none of your business. Move!"
He shoved Owen aside and glared at Cassidy. "Are you scared to go to the hospital?"
Under Ryder's intense questioning, Cassidy had no choice but to agree. Worried about her, Owen and Declan decided to go to the hospital with her.
As they got to the hospital entrance, a doctor immediately came up to greet Ryder.
Ryder pointed at Cassidy. "Make sure you do a thorough check-up on her and tell me if she's pregnant or not!"
The doctor nodded and took Cassidy inside.
Cassidy realized this doctor was probably one of Ryder's people. She got scared and wanted to leave. But Ryder was watching her closely, so she had to follow the doctor.
The check-up was super thorough, and Cassidy's heart was pounding the whole time.
The doctor noticed her nerves and smiled, telling her to relax, which weirdly made Cassidy feel a bit better.
After the check-up, the doctor brought Cassidy and the report to the waiting room. "The report shows this lady is two months pregnant."
Everyone was shocked, especially Ryder.
Ryder grabbed the report from the doctor's hand and flipped through it, not believing his eyes. "How could she be two months pregnant?"
"The report is accurate; this lady is indeed two months pregnant," the doctor asserted.
Cassidy felt a wave of relief, though she kept her face neutral. She finally understood why Easton was so confident about her going to the hospital.
Even though Owen and Declan never doubted Cassidy, they were still a bit stunned by the doctor's words. They both looked at Cassidy's belly, staying silent.
Ryder angrily crumpled the report and threw it on the ground. He thought Cassidy was lying, never expecting her to actually be pregnant!
He glared at Cassidy's belly with such intensity that it looked like he might rush over and punch her to cause a miscarriage any second.
Cassidy instinctively covered her belly and took a step back, while Owen and Declan immediately stepped in, watching Ryder like hawks.
"Cassidy, well done!" Ryder spat through gritted teeth, then stormed off, clearly needing to leave before he lost his temper completely.
After Ryder left, Cassidy thanked the doctor.
On the way back, Cassidy felt relieved that Ryder didn't do anything to her, but she couldn't shake the fear she had of Easton, especially since Ryder thought the doctor was on his side, not knowing that the doctor was actually working for Easton.
Once they got home, Cassidy went to her room under the guise of needing rest, where Easton was already waiting for her.
Unfazed by her arrival, he pulled her into his arms. "How did it go?"
"It's fine now; the doctor said I'm two months pregnant," Cassidy replied.
Easton nodded, satisfied, and sat on the bed, pulling Cassidy onto his lap. He wrapped his arms around her waist, inhaling her scent. "Cassidy, how about we go on a vacation?"
He mentioned the name of an island.
Cassidy knew the place; it was beautiful.
"We can have a great time, and I'll make sure you relax and forget about all this stress," Easton added.
Cassidy immediately shook her head. "We can't go alone."
Easton seemed to have expected this excuse. "Don't worry, we'll go as a family."
In his mind, Easton thought, 'Then I'll take the chance to press Cassidy in the seaside villa and make love to her like crazy.'
Cassidy still wanted to refuse, but Easton's next words blocked her. "I think everyone's been really busy lately and could use some time to relax, don't you think?"
He didn't give her a chance to refuse, so Cassidy could only nod. "Alright, everyone has been working hard; we should go out and relax."
Easton's body temperature was rising, and Cassidy, sitting on his lap, quickly began to feel warm. She removed the silk scarf around her neck, revealing all the marks.
Last night, Easton had bitten her neck and chest like a wild animal, leaving a trail of marks that hadn't fully disappeared. To keep others from noticing, Cassidy had to cover them with a scarf. During her check-up, the doctor seemed to understand why she wore the scarf and smiled knowingly, which embarrassed her.
Easton stared at the marks he had made, his breathing getting heavier as Cassidy felt something hard poking her butt.
She immediately turned to look at Easton, thinking he was always acting like a lovesick puppy!
Cassidy wanted to get out of his arms, but Easton held her tightly, not letting her escape. His hand pressed against her belly, the warmth of his palm seeping through the thin fabric. "Cassidy, since the doctor said you're two months pregnant, shouldn't we work a bit harder, or it will be easily found out."
Cassidy bit her lower lip. "Easton."
She wanted to refuse but remembered how terrifying he was; he could even turn Ryder's people into his own.
She hesitated for just a moment, and Easton took it as consent. He immediately pressed her head and kissed her.
His kissing game was so good that Cassidy could only follow his lead, completely forgetting she had meant to resist.
