Chapter 100 Levi's POV
Chapter 100 Levi's POV
Levi's POV
The moment Derek dragged me toward one of the bedrooms, I knew I had already lost the argument.
He acted like what happened with Rahul never happened at all. But guess what, I'm the curious brother. I knew something was on with both of them. I just needed confirmation.
"I'm not sleepy yet.” I said which was an obvious lie, because I was exhausted from stress and lack of sleep but I wanted to know more.
“You're human, your brain could be harmed from lack of rest.”
“ill sleep if you tell me about you and Rahul"
Derek stared at me like I was insane."there is nothing to talk about. And unless you want me to take you back to your grumpy boyfriend, shut up and go lay on the bed.
"Yes mom."
“ If I was your mother I would probably hit you with a shoe.”
“Good thing you're the brother then.”
Derek pointed toward the hallway. "Now go to bed.”
I rolled my eyes and headed for the room. The apartment felt quiet compared to everything that had happened over the last day.
The bedroom itself was simple: a large bed, a dresser, a window overlooking the city with black blinds, Nothing fancy or dramatic. I tossed my shoes aside and collapsed onto the mattress. The second my head touched the pillow, my body remembered how exhausted it was. Every muscle hurts. My shoulders, legs and even my brain hurt. I hadn’t realized how much adrenaline had been keeping me upright until now.
The room blurred. I closed my eyes. And immediately saw Lucifiel chained to that wall again, but this time he looked devastated.
My eyes snapped open again.
Damn it.
I kept tossing and turning but Sleep refused to come. My thoughts were too loud in my head. I missed sleeping beside Lucifiel, even though all he does is to watch me sleep. My face heated. I buried it into the pillow.
I was an idiot. I couldn't even hate him properly .
A few minutes later I finally drifted off.
I was standing in a forest. The trees stretched endlessly in every direction. The air smelled strange—like rain mixed with blood.
I walked forward. Leaves crunched beneath my feet. The deeper I went, the darker the forest became.
Then I saw someone.
A child. A boy no older than ten. He stood between the trees with his back turned toward me. Something about him felt familiar.
“Hello?”
The boy didn’t answer. I moved closer—slowly, carefully.
Then he turned. I almost tripped when I saw his face. The boy looked exactly like me, not similar but Exactly.
Before I could speak, he pointed behind me.
I turned.
A figure stood between the trees—tall, motionless, watching us. The forest suddenly felt colder. I couldn’t see the figure’s face. Only darkness.
Then a voice echoed through the trees.
“He is coming for you. Run!”
My eyes snapped open.
I bolted upright, my heart hammering against my ribs. I almost didn't recognise where I was.
The apartment.
Right.
I dragged a hand across my face. The room was dim, which meant I hadn’t slept through the entire day. Just part of it.
A knock sounded on the door—three soft taps. Before I could answer, the door opened.
Lucifiel stepped inside. Of course it was him. Boundaries and privacy meant nothing to him.
His eyes immediately swept over me, checking, inspecting, making sure I was okay. The realization was both annoying and strangely comforting.
His mouth twitched."You seem well rested.”
I leaned back against the headboard. “i am well rested. How long was I out.”
“Almost 8 hours.”
Eight? I blinked. No wonder I felt human again.
“Nobody woke me?”
“Derek tried, but I told him not to try it.”
That explained everything. Derek was many things—stubborn, annoying, protective—but he wasn’t stupid enough to ignore Lucifiel.
“ I have a question. No, not one, a few actually..”
His expression remained neutral. “Even if I told you not to ask, you'll ask anyway..”
“Good to know we're clear on that.” I said relaxing properly on the bed." So why didn't you escape earlier if you could break the chain and escape, why didn't you do so before we arrived?"
“Well I was motivated when you arrived.” I looked at him confused for a moment. Then my face warmed up. I immediately looked away. Worst decision possible, because it made him smirk.
The bastard.
There were too many things neither of us knew how to say.
Finally I sighed. “What now?”
"Rahul told me you were sure I was at the dungeon for some reason you didn't say?"
"Oh. About that, I don't know, I just felt like something was pulling me to you, I didn't think it was that big of a deal."
Something lights up in Lucifiel's eyes. If I didn't know better, I'd mistake it for excitement because his eyes went red and back to normal immediately.
"Why do you look happy when I just told you something that might be concerning."
He ignored what I was saying, moved to my side of the bed, lifted my face up and placed a light kiss on my lips and my forehead before stepping back.
The amusement disappeared from his eyes like he just remembered something awful. “ We have a few things to deal with, we'll continue with your questions next time.”
That sounded ominous. “I don’t like the sound of that.”
“You won’t like the next one either.”
Great. “What’s happening?”
His gaze shifted toward the doorway. “ let go, everyone is waiting.”
That definitely wasn’t good.
A few minutes later I walked into the living room. The atmosphere immediately told me something was wrong.
Rahul sat at the dining table, three laptops surrounding him. Papers covered almost every available surface. Several phones lay nearby. I can never understand how he does it. Derek occupied the couch.
Rahul looked up first. “You’re awake.”
“yeah yeah.”
I dropped into a chair. Immediately a cup of coffee appeared in front of me. I looked up. Lucifiel. Again. I didn’t know when he’d gotten behind me. I wasn’t sure he did either. He simply appeared whenever I needed something—like some overprotective supernatural stalker.
“Thank you.” I took a sip which did wonders immediately, before I started talking. "What happened while I was asleep?”
The room became quiet. Derek exchanged a look with Rahul while Lucifiel remained standing behind me like a human shield or rather Vampire shield. Which made me a bit nervous.
Finally Rahul spoke. “We found two more attacks.”
My stomach sank. “What kind of attacks?”
“The same kind as the safe house. With no survivors.”
A knot formed in my chest. “Whoever is doing this really mean you guys.”
Rahul nodded. “Yes. And Aldric won't give the information he has.”
I still don't believe he could be a good guy.
“Okay.” I set down my coffee. “Tell me everything.”
Rahul pulled up several photographs. The first image made my stomach twist—blood everywhere. Walls. Floors. Furniture. Bodies. I looked away immediately. I wasn’t weak, but there was only so much gore a person needed to see before breakfast. Or after breakfast. Or ever.
“The symbol appeared again.”
Rahul enlarged the image. The strange marking stared back at me like a signature. And L inside a C.
“Does anyone know what it means yet?”
“Not yet.”
That came from Lucifiel. I glanced up. He looked frustrated, which was unusual. The man normally acted like he knew everything. Seeing him look uncertain made me uneasy.
“Nothing?”
Rahul leaned back. “We’ve searched historical records, clan archives, council archives and private collections but nothing matches.”
The room fell silent. That wasn’t encouraging. Not even a little.
Then another phone rang. Rahul answered immediately. Everyone watched him. The conversation lasted less than thirty seconds. When he hung up, his expression had changed. Again.
I was beginning to hate that expression.
“What now?”
Rahul looked directly at me, then at Derek, then back at me. My stomach dropped.
“Rahul.”
He exhaled slowly. “ But we finally found footage from the safe house.”
“Yes.”
Derek sat forward as Rahul opened a file. The screen flickered. Then video appeared—night-vision footage of a hallway. Dark. Empty. For several seconds nothing happened, then movement appeared and someone stepped into frame.
At first I couldn’t make out details. The image quality was terrible. The figure moved strangely—too fast, too sharp, almost animalistic. Then the person lifted their head.
The figure on the screen looked familiar but I didn't know him, then Derek muttered.
“Dad.”
I froze.
