Chapter 44

“I’ve got something to tell you, something kind of important,” Ted said.

“Oh?” Kenny stopped walking and turned to face Ted, an apprehensive look on his face.

“No, it’s nothing bad. It’s something you’ll think is good—I hope you will anyway.”

Kenny took a deep breath and said, “Okay. I was afraid you were going to say you weren’t going to enroll at the university for the winter term or something.”

“No, I’m not going anywhere,” Ted said warmly.

They started walking again.

Then it was Ted who took a deep breath. “I know how important it is to you to take things slow. So I don’t really know why I haven’t told you before this. Maybe it’s because I didn’t want you to think I was just trying to hit on you or something.”

Kenny turned to face Ted again.

“I’m gay.”

Ted had expected Kenny to look surprised, even shocked. But he didn’t. Kenny’s expression softened and he smiled. He reached out and took Ted’s hand as they continued to walk the path. “I know. At least I thought I knew and hoped I was right.”

“What?” It was Ted who was shocked. “But…but how?” he stammered.

“I’m pretty na?ve when it comes to gay things. But I guess I could tell by the way you looked at me, talked to me, and touched me.”

Ted stopped walking and turned Kenny toward him. Recovering from his surprise and feeling relieved it was out in the open, he took both of Kenny’s hands in his. “That’s called gaydar,” Ted said chuckling. Then more seriously he asked, “What’s next for us then?”

“Maybe this.”

Kenny leaned forward, put his arms around Ted, and brought their lips together. Ted returned the kiss.

They broke the kiss and smiled at each other. Then they kissed again, this time with more passion, Kenny’s lips parting to allow Ted’s tongue entry. Ted could feel Kenny’s hardening cock pressing against his.

Realizing where they were, out in the open, on a public path in the arb, Ted stepped back. “I don’t think this is the place for this.” He looked around to see if they’d been observed. “The U is pretty liberal, but…”

Kenny astonished Ted again when he said, “My roommate’s gone for the weekend. We could go there.”

“You’re sure? I don’t want to push you into something you’re not ready for.”

“I trust you. And I’m ready. I’ve waited long enough.”

A half hour later the pair stood behind the closed door of Kenny’s dorm room, holding each other close, kissing gently, tenderly. The sensations of arousal coupled with the affection Ted was feeling for Kenny made him feel heady. How often with certain johns or in videos where he was faking it had he tried to imagine what it would be like to make love to someone whom he cared about and who cared for him? Even the times with Chris hadn’t prepared him for what he would experience when the real thing came along. Although his weekend with Sam had hinted at it, he’d not experienced what he was feeling now. He felt not only his growing sexual excitement but also the realization he was beginning to feel strongly for Kenny.

Ted broke their embrace and looked deeply into Kenny’s eyes. He raised his hand and stroked Kenny’s thick red curls. Kenny smiled. Then Kenny took Ted by the hand and led him to a twin bed. They kicked off their shoes. Kenny sat down and pulled Ted down beside him. Ted took Kenny in his arms once more. Kissing, they stretched out on the narrow mattress.

“This reminds me of when we were in therapy,” Kenny said as he ground his hard cock against Ted. “You have no idea how strongly I felt about you then and how you’ve been on my mind ever since. To be honest…” Kenny hesitated and lowered his eyes. It looked as if he was afraid he might be revealing too much if he went on. “You’re the reason I left Bible College and transferred here. Once I settled in my mind that it was okay to be gay, I knew I needed to find you again…to see if there was any chance we could mean something to each other. I know you told me at the time you were straight but…I hoped.” He raised his eyes to Ted’s once more. “Is that too weird?”

Ted looked at Kenny’s sweet, innocent face. It held a mixture of apprehension and hope. Something in Kenny’s words and expression touched Ted’s heart. He had never been with anyone who really cared for him—certainly none of his clients or fellow porn actors. Maybe Sam, but definitely not Chris. But here Ted was, lying next to this special young man, who was telling Ted he cared. Ted pulled Kenny close and let himself go, let himself love.
