Chapter 50

Bella Pov

The whispers followed me everywhere.

“The other woman.”

“She may have the ring, but she’ll always be the second best.”

“She is a homewrecker”

The whispers were overwhelming, and all eyes were on me. Everyone just couldn’t stop whispering.

“Why don’t you say it to MY FACE?!” I shouted, annoyed, as I turned to the group of women who had been talking about me.

“I invited you to my party, you group of lowlifes, and you have the audacity to speak about me in such a degrading manner, at my own wedding?!… Security!!! Take these women out!” I ordered.

But before the security could do their work, the lady who started the conversation laughed in my face.

“You seduced a married man, who has a child. You didn’t think of the child, and here you are, acting all high and mighty… Miss, or should I say Mrs.?” She smirked at me and continued.

“You honestly have no shame at all. If I were you, I’d hide in a corner instead of flaunting the fact that you’re the other woman who somehow became the main wife… Disgraceful.” She finished with a mocking smile.

“Security, what are you waiting for? Take this lady out of this house,” I ordered, both angry and embarrassed.

I sighed.

She really just had to ruin my day. This day was going so well until that tramp showed up at my wedding to make a scene.

My wedding day was supposed to be perfect. I finally wanted to show everyone I wasn’t the

other woman.

Alex came over to me and whispered in my ear.

“How are you?” he asked, concerned.

“Obviously not fine. Did you hear what everyone is saying about me? And it’s all because of that silly ex-wife of yours… Tell her to leave right now! I cannot and will not let her ruin my wedding!” I said, but just as he was about to reply, someone walked up to him.

“Your last movie production was a bomb, and I heard you just released another one,” he said, and with that, Alex completely forgot I was standing there.

“Alex… I’m talking to you. Can’t you hear me?” I said, trying to get his attention.

“Not now, Bella. These are important investors, and you know I need them. Just give me a moment,” he said, brushing me off while turning back to continue with the investors.

“Can we please move to the garden? It’s a bit noisy here,” he said, as they both moved to the garden.

Leaving me alone, and I couldn’t possibly allow her to ruin my wedding. No, I won’t let her ruin my day. She needs to leave here, and she needs to leave now.

“Julie! You wait right there! Where do you think you’re going?” I rushed up to her, grabbing her left hand and dragging her to a corner.

She yanked her hand away.

“Don’t you ever drag me like that,” she said.

“Get out!” I yelled.

“I will only leave here with my daughter, so if you want me to get out, then give me my daughter,” she said, looking at me.

“I don’t care why you’re here. All I know is that your presence is not needed, so I need you to get the hell out of here, right this instant,” I screamed.

“You know what? You are really something,” she said, scoffing.

“You slept with my ex-husband, and you think you have the right to run your mouth?”

“You knew that he was married and had a daughter but you still did it, so just shut your mouth” she said

“And that is why you came here to ruin my wedding,” I said.

“Bella, do you think I care about your silly wedding with my ex? I don’t,” she replied.

“I care less about you, so don’t be delusional. And this will be the last time I say this: the only reason I’m here is because of my daughter.”

“You’re a liar. You still love him, don’t you? That’s why you text him every time you get the chance. Are you really okay with seeing Alex happy with me?” I asked, flaunting my jewelry ring.

“You see why I call you naive?” She laughed while looking at me, maintaining eye contact. “I want you to stay in this marriage because you need to see for yourself the kind of caricature of a man you married. Trust me, dear, you’ll regret ever marrying him. And I’ll be on the sidelines, laughing at your downfall when Alex plays you, like he did me,” she said.

You’re just bitter because you lost, Julie.”

She took a step forward, as she whispered into my ears.

‘Lost?” She looked me up and down, her eyes on my wedding dress and then on my ring. She laughed. “If this is what winning looks like, Bella, then I would rather lose.”

Before I could say anything, I saw him.

Damien.

He was standing behind her, as if trying to hide from me.

I turned fully toward Damien.

So, this is why you’ve been avoiding me,” I said, stepping closer. “It’s her, isn’t it?”

‘Bella, don’t start,” he said, more like he was begging me.

Lignored him, folding my arms. “You’ve been dodging my calls and refusing to even have a conversation. And now I see why,” I said, staring at Julie.

She just stood still, staring at Damien.

Leave her out of this,” he said.

I let out a humorless laugh. “I knew it.” I turned back to Julie. “And of all people, Damien? Her?

“Bella, please, not now. You have a husband now, so it’s best you focus on him and leave me the hell alone.”

“And that you never speak to Julie in such a manner again,” he said as he took Julie’s hand and

left.

I had spent so much time convincing myself that Damien still cared, that he still loved me. But now, looking at him, I wasn’t so sure anymore.
