As I entered the bar, I walked over and sat at the counter opposite where Tyler was. He was cleaning a bottle and looked at me as if nothing had happened. Probably, Melissa hadn’t told him yet. I ordered a drink-whiskey. I needed a moment to think about where to punch first and how to confront him.
“How is Melissa?” I asked, not bothering to look at him as I played with my glass.
“Huh?” he asked, dropping the cup he was cleaning.
“Pinning the baby on me was the best idea you had, huh?” I asked.
He tried to say something, but I didn’t give him the chance. Before he could get a word out, I grabbed him by the collar and punched him in the face so hard that he fell backward onto
the chair behind him.
Then people shouted, and some stood up, but I wasn’t done. I grabbed Tyler by the collar and dragged him to his feet.
“You bastard!” I shouted, punching him again. He had a bloody nose, but he didn’t fight back. He just looked at me without making any attempt to block or dodge the blows, and that made me even angrier.
“Will you stop it!” someone shouted from the crowd, but I ignored them.
I landed another punch, and Tyler stumbled onto a table, sending glasses and bottles crashing to the floor.
“How dare you try to pin a baby on me? And to think I trusted you. I saw you as my brother!” I shouted.
“I’m sorry,” Tyler mumbled, but it was too late for apologies.
Before I could hit him again, a couple of guys grabbed me, pulling me back. Tyler slumped against the table, his face a bloody mess.
“That is enough!” one of the men holding me shouted.
A look at his face convinced me that it was enough. “You are lucky they stopped me,” I muttered.
Then the police showed up and handcuffed both me and Tyler..
“You are under arrest for causing a public nuisance, and anything you say or do will be used against you in a court of law,” the police officer said as he dragged us to the van.

We finally arrived at the police station and were made to sit in the holding cell.

I leaned back against the cold wall, trying to calm down. This was really embarrassing. Thank God there were no paparazzi yet. I looked like a thug, with bloody, swollen knuckles and a blood-stained shirt.
“She was the one who started it!” a familiar voice shouted from behind me.
“How many times do I have to say it before you believe me? She was the one who slapped me first,” the voice said again.
Julie.
The voice sounded like Julie. I turned to confirm if it was her or if my ears were playing tricks on me, but it was truly her.
Julie was in the police station. I looked at her, surprised that she was here, and I couldn’t help myself-I burst out laughing.
“What the hell happened to you?” I asked, pointing at her messed-up hair and bruised face.
“Did you fight with a dragon? And why are you here?” I asked.
“I could ask you the same thing. You look like you just got out of a street fight,” she scoffed.
“That’s because I did,” I said, leaning forward. “What’s your excuse? Did a tornado hit you on the way here?”
Julie rolled her eyes. “Hilarious. For your information, I had a… little… misunderstanding. But at least I don’t look like I went ten rounds with a punching bag.”
I smirked. “Someone’s a bit feisty.”
She just shrugged as she tried to arrange her dress. “So, when are you going to talk about why you’re here, or are you just going to get on my nerves all night?”
“Ladies first,” I said, gesturing for her to go
ahead.
She sighed, clearly not in the mood. “Fine. I got into a fight, okay? Happy?”
“With who?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.
“That’s none of your business,” she snapped.
“Your turn. Why are you here?”
“I got into a fight too, more like I beat someone to a pulp” I said,
“And where is that someone?” she asked, looking around.

“All right, lovebirds,” the police officer said as he handed us a paper. “Time to write your
statements.”
“Lovebirds, huh?” Julie repeated.
“You are both here for fighting, sitting together, and laughing like you are at a comedy club. What am I supposed to think?”
I chuckled. “He’s got a point, Julie.”
“Whatever,” she muttered, grabbing the clipboard.
As I started writing my statement, I couldn’t help but steal some glances at Julie. Even in a police station, with her hair a mess and her face puffy, she still looked… sexy.
When we handed our statements back, the officer skimmed through them.
“Since you’re a first-time offender, you won’t be spending the night in jail, but try to stay out of trouble, huh?”
Julie rolled her eyes again. “Can we go now?”
“Not yet,” the officer said. “You still have a couple more forms to fill out.”
I sighed. “Next time, remind me not to use my fists.”
“Same with me,” she said.
The officer handed us some forms to fill out. When we were done, we were free to go.
“You are lucky this ended up as a warning because the guy you beat up didn’t want to press charges,” a police officer said as he patted me on the shoulder.
“Try not to get into trouble again, and also thank the man you beat up for not pressing charges-and you, miss,” he said, pointing at Julie,
“Try not to get into a fight on the street. You are grown up, so act like it,” he added as he allowed us to go.
