Chapter 21

Wes's POV

"Aurora! No!" I watch in horror as the push her into the water, she looked so scared.

I jump in, following her and the anchor wastes no time pulling her down. I swim as fast as I can, trying to grip the anchor and I get glimpses of her struggling.

I fight, terrified that this was it. That it might be all over.

I swam as far as I could when I heard a familiar warning pop in my ears as they began to hurt.

No.

No.

I swim to the surface, defeated, and hop onto the boat. I feel terrible, dead even as Bella turns to look at me.

"Wes. . ."

"Don't." I hold up a hand to silence her. I grab my gun, aiming carefully at Rena who was too busy speeding away, I release the maximum amount of bullets I can before she collapses never missing. I aim at the two guys who were suddenly alarmed and shot both of them twice.

I couldn't save her. . .

I can't help it as tears fall from my eyes with frustration.

I can't believe this. I don't know what to do with myself as I punch one of the seats.

"Fuck!" I cry out and I don't curse very often believe me.

"Wes if you would just-"

"Bella I said don't!" I roar and she flinches shutting her mouth.

Wait.

Where's Chess?

Hearing a splash, I spin to find a figure in diving gear holding onto Aurora's body.

Relief overflows me as I run towards them, grabbing Aurora.

Chess is revealed and I decide to question him later.

I lean my ear against Aurora's mouth, only to find out that she wasn't breathing.

I pump at her chest but she doesn't even move an eyelash.

"C'mon baby, breathe." I put my mouth onto her to give her mouth to mouth. "Cmon Aurora ,don't give up on me now, don't do this."

I continue the routine Pump, mouth to mouth, Pump mouth to mouth.

She doesn't respond and I lean away, kneeling next to her. I clench my jaw as everything is still and tears decide to release themselves once more.

I don't wipe them away what's the use.

"Damn it Aurora." I murmur while the waterworks fall faster and I lean in to kiss her cheek. Resting my forehead against hers. "I love you too. Crap, I love you so much."

Nothing good lasts forever they say and its today that we witness that.

Not every book has a happy ending. Not every wish, lies a dream come true.

We can't live forever, but we strive for greatness while we're here.

Pain doesn't last forever either even if it seems to. Nothing's worst than losing someone close to your heart and its those uncontrollable tears that really get to you.

In loving memory Of Aurora.

May her soul. . . rest in peace.
