Chapter 15
Beeze's POV
"Dance with me." Wes stretches his hand as he stands in the middle of my living room.
I make no hesitation grabbing it and he smiles.
He puts in a song and as it plays he sings along.
We came here to party, We came here to dance,
You know that you're my girl, Damn, right I'm your man, I giggle at his facial expression when he says the last line but I listen nonetheless.
This night going too good
Don't fall for the games He said she said Don't- Sh I got a whole lot of names, And a whole lot of numbers, But I'd throw them away
Cause I think I might love ya, I got, I got, I got, I got, I got options.
You the, you the, you the, you the top one.
So baby if it isn't a problem, can I get some of your love.
"Anytime." I smile and he grins pecking my lips.
"Who knew my man could sing?" I tease when we are done dancing and he winks.
"You're not the only one who get the moves you know." I hold up my hands in mock surrender.
"I'm gonna throw out the trash. I'll be right back." He nods and I walk downstairs and across the road. Waiting for the red light, I begin to walk back but strangely this black car comes zooming straight for me. Screaming, I jump out of the way and onto the sidewalk. I stare at the back of the car as it speeds away, my eyes wide.
"Are you okay?" A teenage girl asks while helping me up and I nod.
"Thank you." I smile politely before walking quickly this time back to the apartment.
By the time I reach up I'm panting.
"Babe!" I yell and I hear no response. I check the living room, then my bedroom.
"Baby?!" I yell again and still... .no answer.
My heart starts beating quickly in my chest and frantically search the other rooms.
"Wes?" I yell and I hear the door shut close. I run back into the living room to find Wes strolling in.
I release a sigh of relief and walk towards him.
"Where have you been?" I let out a groan, colliding with his chest and burying my face in it. He wraps his arms around me and I breathe in his familiar cologne.
"I just went to check up on some of my employees, what's wrong?"
"Someone tried to run me over," I say but it comes out muffled.
"What?" He says lifting my chin.
"Someone tried to run me over," I repeat and his eyes darken.
"When?" He asks urgently and I explain to him what happened.
"I bet it's my aunt." I sulk, sinking into the couch. I bury my face in my hands and I can hear Wes speaking to someone on the phone in the other room.
"Let me go back to her. I don't want you to get hurt." I tell him as soon as he comes back.
"Hey hey, no, look at me." He kneels in front of my and I lift my head to stare into his stormy grey eyes."No one is going anywhere, we're not even sure if it's her yet, let's not jump to conclusions. I called Chess and he's on it. Okay?"
I breathe out nodding and he hesitates before saying something.
"I don't want you to leave me Aurora. . . it probably sounds pathetic but every time I think of you going back... something in me just drops and I honestly can't handle it. "
I smile softly at him before cupping his cheeks and pulling his lips to mine. He grips my thighs and I smile during this kiss. Pulling away, I lean my forehead against his.
"I won't leave you handsome. I promise."
"I'll hold you to that beautiful. We're in this together."
