Chapter 95 Two-faced Confidence to be Mrs. Ward

As soon as she spoke, everyone's eyes were on Quinn. She put down the sunflower, slipped the invitation into her pocket, and faced Ciara's icy glare. "Sugar daddy? Did you see it with your own eyes, or did he tell you himself? Besides, the organizers are our group and Global Horizon Enterprises. Do you really think the person in charge over there is that shady?"

"I just think this whole event's gone downhill because of people like you. You don't even have a single piece of work, and you got in through connections. If it were me, I'd be too embarrassed to show up," Ciara sneered.

"Just mind your own business, you narrow-minded person." Quinn wasn't mad and didn't want to argue. She didn't care about winning or losing a verbal fight. With a baby on the way, Quinn cared even less about arguments than she had before, understanding that maintaining her composure was crucial as her emotions could impact the baby. The best prenatal care was a mom with stable emotions.

Ciara decided not to argue further, not wanting to mess up her mood. She was looking forward to that night's event where Carlster would be present, hoping to make a lasting impression.

She carefully touched up her makeup, determined to be the most dazzling person there, hoping Carlster would fall for her at first sight.

Back at her desk, Ciara couldn't wait to call a high-end custom dress shop in Sunrise City, a small but famous place. "Hi! This is Ciara. We talked before about your most precious dress. Have you thought about it? Of course, if you don't need a spokesperson, I can buy it myself. But can you give me a discount? I'm a somewhat famous designer, and we could collaborate in the future."

There was some noise on the other end, followed by footsteps, and then a gentle but firm voice. "Sorry, Miss Grace, that dress has just been repriced. It's gone up by $300,000."

Ciara was shocked. "What? How did it go up so fast? I've been watching it for the past two days, and the price hasn't changed."

The other person was firm. "Do you still want it? Because it's a unique piece, the price fluctuates with the market."

The previous price had made her hesitate for a long time. When she got the invitation, she decided to go for it and buy it.

Of course, if she could get it as a spokesperson without spending a dime, that would be even better. That was her ideal way to get the dress, but now the price had gone up instead of down?

"No... I don't need it!" Ciara hung up, looking gloomy.

But that dress was really beautiful, designed by Sienna Scott.

The price was already high at $1.37 million, which she couldn't afford. Now it had gone up by $300,000 to $1.67 million, way beyond her budget. But if she could wear it to tonight's event and meet Sienna in person, she could find something to talk about and maybe even become friends.

Sienna was a legendary designer whose works spanned multiple industries, especially her recent jewelry designs, which sold for very high prices.

At noon, Ciara walked into the elevator with a regretful look and saw Quinn inside. She immediately held her head high. Quinn didn't say anything and habitually stood in the corner after the previous elevator incident.

Ciara thought she was giving her space and enjoyed the feeling of others being cautious around her.

After getting in the elevator, Ciara looked Quinn up and down before asking, "What are you planning to wear to the banquet tonight?"

Before Quinn could answer, Ciara kept going with a smirk. "You're not planning to change clothes, are you? With that outfit that costs less than a thousand bucks in total?"

Quinn found it amusing and glanced at her. She knew Ciara's dress was a bit pricey, but it depended on who was asked. It was probably between $5,000 and $8,000.

For her past self, it seemed pricey, but to her present self, it was inadequate, failing to meet Carl's high standards for attire.

Quinn had already assessed Ciara's financial strength through her dress, which was not impressive.

Seeing Quinn not answering, Ciara suddenly spoke seriously, "Just a heads-up: at the exchange meeting, you're representing the whole Elegance Group, not just yourself. If you can't put together a decent outfit, maybe you should skip it. It's one thing to embarrass yourself, but don't put that on Carlster."

Hearing her call Carlster so familiarly, Quinn found it laughable. "How do you manage to be more arrogant than Mr. Ward? People might think you're the president. You're young but don't know your place."

The elevator door opened, but Ciara didn't rush out. She stood there with a smug face. "Because I've known Carlster since we were kids. I'm the daughter of his aunt's best friend, and I'm the most likely and suitable woman to be called Mrs. Ward."

Quinn asked, "Oh, really?"

"Of course! I heard that on Carlster's first day in office, you shamelessly obsessed over him in front of everyone and even blocked his way?" Ciara then put her hands on her hips and said arrogantly.

Quinn was shocked. How did this new employee, Ciara, find out about such gossip?

"Quinn, I'm warning you, you can imagine whatever you want in your dreams." Ciara's tone suddenly rose. "But I suggest you go home and lie in bed to dream. Maybe in your dreams, Carlster will marry you!"

Quinn shook her head slightly, feeling annoyed.

First Nola, then the persistent Lucy, and now Ciara.

But she didn't take Ciara seriously. Ciara was just two-faced, far less scheming than Nola.

Quinn answered, "Thanks for the reminder. I'll remind you that if you don't get out, the elevator door will close!"

Ciara snorted coldly and walked out.

Watching her back, Quinn complained in her heart, 'What are you so proud of? I'm carrying his baby. No matter how much you try, his marriage certificate will still have my name on it. How foolish.'

But then her phone suddenly rang. Seeing the caller ID, Quinn was startled and answered, pressing the phone close to her ear. "Hello!"

"Are you done? I'll take you to try on dresses at noon, okay?" with his deep, magnetic voice, Carl asked for her opinion in a negotiating tone.

Quinn answered, "Sure!"

"Then come down now. I'm waiting for you downstairs," said Carl.

Quinn quickly pressed the button for the first floor, thinking she should have stayed downstairs to avoid the hassle.

When the elevator reached the first floor, she hadn't even walked out of the lobby when she saw Carl's tall figure through the glass door.

Just a glimpse of his back, with his innate aura, made it hard for people to look away.

Seeing the employees coming and going around, Quinn wondered if he planned to openly take her with him.

"Carlster, are you going out too?" Suddenly, Ciara appeared in front of Carl out of nowhere.

Quinn was startled and thought, 'How does this woman appear out of nowhere? Wasn't she just upstairs?'
