Chapter 3: Infidelity

Bethany stood up to get a better look, but the next moment, the figures of the two disappeared into the crowd, and she couldn't find them no matter how hard she looked.

At that moment, the laboratory called her name.

Bethany had no choice but to take the report and find the doctor first.

In the examination room, the man was writing medical records with his head lowered. The earnestness intertwined with his sharp contours, and his defined fingers drew her attention involuntarily.

Bethany was slightly dazed.

If that person hadn't gone abroad, she really might have mistaken him for someone else.

"Sir, the report is ready," Bethany handed over the report.

When the man reached out to take it, their fingertips accidentally touched. Bethany didn't react, but the man's fingers were slightly trembling.

His sharp gaze behind the lenses scanned the report. Leaning back lazily in his chair, he looked at Bethany and said, "Ms. Campbell, your physiological test results are all normal. So your frigidity is probably due to psychological reasons."

This result was expected by Bethany.

She remained calm. "Then how should I treat it?"

The man picked up a pen, twirling it between his fingers with ease, and asked, "This illness can be easy or difficult to treat. But as long as you trust me and cooperate, I'm confident I can cure you before your wedding."

Hearing that, Bethany seemed uninterested and still asked, "How should I cooperate with you?"

The man pondered for a while and casually asked, "When was the last time you were intimate with him?"

Bethany answered, "Yesterday."

"You said you feel repulsed by his closeness, so let me ask more directly." The man narrowed his eyes slightly and continued, "Have his kisses and touches ever aroused your desire?"

Bethany's hand, hidden under the table, clenched her skirt tightly.

She lowered her gaze and calmly said, "No, he doesn't arouse any desire in me."

The man raised an eyebrow. "I want to hear the truth. Are you really devoid of any sense of longing?"

He was too straightforward.

No matter how composed Bethany was, she couldn't control her body's reaction. Her cheeks suddenly flushed red.

Still trying to maintain her composure, she said, "No."

When the man heard that, the coldness in the well-dressed man's eyes softened slightly.

He stared at her, his gaze somewhat unclear. "Perhaps you could try someone else."

Bethany was caught off guard by the man's words.

She frowned, unable to believe it. "Are you suggesting that I cheat?"

The pen stopped spinning.

The man stared at her directly and said, "Ms. Campbell, I am a professional doctor. I need to remind you that this is part of the treatment."

Then, he wrote down the phone numbers for Bethany. "Think about it, and if you need treatment, contact me."

Bethany looked at the piece of paper, hesitated for a moment, but ultimately took it.

Her mind was in turmoil. When she walked out of the examination room, she accidentally bumped into someone, but she just apologized and hurriedly left.

Stanley Harper had just steadied himself when he turned to look at the person who had bumped into him, but Bethany was already nowhere to be seen.

"Young girls are rude..." Stanley sighed and shook his head, then walked into the examination room.

"Vincent, thanks for covering my shift," Stanley said.

Stanley approached the desk, nodding to his friend with a playful smile. "How was it, Professor? How does it feel to be back in the clinic?"

"Not bad." The man stood up, making room for Stanley.

Sitting down, Stanley couldn't help but gossip. "Did you encounter any tough cases?"

Vincent Murray couldn't help but recall how embarrassed Bethany seemed, yet she still tried to appear composed.

It was interesting.

He took off his white coat, revealing his perfectly proportioned physique. Then, as he removed his mask, he lowered his voice and said, "Don't even mention tough cases. Even if it were a stubborn person, he would still have to yield to me."
