Chapter 20: CHAPTER 20

CHAPTER TWENTY

Sienna’s POV

~DARKMOON CELL~

I was just feeling severe pain in my whole body system. I have never felt like this my whole life

Every part of my body ached, as if it had been shattered into a thousand pieces and they were unfixable. My arms felt like dead weights at my sides too heavy to carry them. My ribs ached with every sharp breath I took, and my head pounded as if someone was slamming a hammer against my skull.

I wanted to just drink water not because I'm thirty but to quench the fire of pain in my heart. My body was too exhausted to feel anything beyond this pain that it was feeling.

I curled up against the rough stone wall, my nails digging into my arms as I squeezed my eyes shut. Every time I blinked, all I could see was my father’s face.

Father

I have never felt so betrayed and helpless all my life, I've always had a happy life, a happy home and a happy family. Now, I have lost everything. My home. My people. My freedom.

And worst of all…

My mate.

Kieran.

His name burned in my mind as I thought of it, I don't know how to feel about the way he and his people have been treating me. I hated him. I hated him so much. And yet, my heart still aches for him in a way I couldn't understand. I know I deserve this but I am not Darius, my only mistake is being his daughter and if they had wanted an apology, I would have given it to them.

Karien had even let the guy beat me to the ground. He had let me suffer. And yet he stopped the fight. Why? Did he pity me? Or was it something more?

I clenched my jaw, refusing to think about it. I didn’t want his pity.

He should keep his pity to himself as I await the day they finally take away my life.

I didn’t want to think about him at all.

With a deep breath, I let my body relax, hoping for sleep to take me even if it meant nightmares would come.

But just as I started to drift off, I heard it.

The clank of the cell door.

My heart stopped.

I slowly opened my eyes. The door wasn’t locked. Someone was inside.

And when I turned my head, I saw him.

The guy who had beat me up.

A wicked smile stretched across his bruised face as he walked slowly towards me .

"Since the Alpha didn’t let me finish the job earlier," he said, the wicked smile still plastered on his face, "I’m here to complete it."

My eyes widened in horror.

I tried to move, to run away, but my body was too weak. He was already towering over me before I could react.

His hands were around my throat in an instant.

I gasped, my fingers holding his hands as he pressed down, trying to strangle me

My lungs burned. My vision blurred. My heartbeat pounded in my ear.

I am going to die.

No.

No.

A growl echoes inside my mind suddenly.

Something deep within me just snapped.

My veins burned like fire and I could feel myself getting bigger.

What was happening?

My bones cracked, twisted, and shifted in ways that should have been impossible but it happened.

I screamed—but it wasn’t my voice.

It was something inhuman.

Then everything exploded.

Fur ripped through my skin like wildfire.

My vision sharpened. My body expanded. My senses flared.

And just like that…

I was no longer human.

I was something else.

Something strong.

Something terrifying.

A monstrous wolf stood in the cell, standing over him.

And it was me.

My fur was dark silver glowing with royalty in the cell, the glow was so bright that it lit up the cell. My claws dug into the floor, my breaths coming out in heavy, strong growls.

The guy stumbled back, his face pale with horror and shock.

"W-What the hell?!" he stammered, trying to run away from me

But I wasn’t myself anymore

A growl ripped from my throat again as I attacked him fiercely.

My sharp teeth sank into skin sucking unto his flesh.

He screamed and begged for me to stop “pl…please stop”

I didn’t stop. I didn't want to stop. I couldn't even control myself.

I threw him across the cell, his body crashing against the wall.

He groaned, coughing out blood, but he was still breathing. Barely breathing as he remained on the floor weakly.

A part of me wanted to finish him—to make sure he never hurt me again.

But something inside me hesitated.

I stared at my own paws, at the terrifying creature I had become.

This… this wasn’t me.

I felt my body start to shrink back to normal. The fire in my veins cooled, my fur began to disappear, and before I knew it, I was human again.

I was just in my clothes now, trembling, covered in sweat and blood– his blood.

I stumbled backward, pressing myself into the corner of the cell, hugging my knees to my chest.

I could still feel it, the power, the rage, the hunger.

I just shifted.

For the first time.

And I almost killed someone.

My breathing was so rough as I curled up, my nails digging into my skin as I tried to make sense of what just happened.

Then I heard footsteps.

Gosh!

How do I explain this?

The cell door slammed open.

I lifted my head just in time to see Kieran standing in the doorway.

His eyes locked into mine for a minute before glancing to the corner of the cell where Razor's body was.

His eyes widened slightly.

His guards rushed inside, looking between Razor’s body and my body. The confusion on their faces was noticeable.

But my eyes were on Kieran.

He just stood there.

Staring at me.

And for the first time since I arrived in this hellhole…

He looked truly shocked.

I wonder what will happen to me next.
