Chapter 11: STARTLED
Adolph pretended to laugh. "No, father. Nothing is happening, I just summoned her to ask her some questions about the pack because of the powers that we are supposed to renew every year."
"I see.' He muttered and looked towards the priestess. "Haven't you seen the chosen one yet? You once told me that we will be seeing him soon, that time is fast approaching, how soon is he coming to see us, then?" He said.
Adolph frowned, looking at the priestess and shook his head for her not to say anything about the matter to his father, that he doesn't have to know about it. He was getting annoyed at why his father would ask such a question at the wrong time, he just hoped as soon as he went to his room to get him the paper, he would be leaving soon and not ask about the whereabouts of the family.
The priestess saw the Alpha's reaction, signifying that she shouldn't say anything to his father, she just has to obey and lie to the former Alpha concerning the chosen one, after all, Adolph was now her master and she has to obey whatever he says and whatever he tells her to do. Unless his father stops him and tells her to tell him anything relating to the pack, and whatever his son does, then he will also be able to stop him from making any decision that does not align with whatever he was supposed to do. He was an Alpha of the pack and no one can stop him once he makes his decision except for his father. She had no choice but to lie to him and she felt bad for lying to him and wished Adolph would just understand what was at stake here. If only he understands the consequences he was going to cause for himself and the pack, he wouldn't be having this way. Should she disobey him and tell his father everything or should she just wait and give it a little time and see what happens to the pack, giving it a little more time and if Adolph does not change his mind by then, she snitch everything to his father, who will also force him to take such a step and listen to her.
"Very soon, my lord,' she directed at Richard. "We will be expecting him soon." She said as she gave a little smile.
He laughed. "That will be good. I can't wait to see him and what kind of Alpha he is going to be and I also wonder who his mate will be? He said as he nodded. "Keep a close eye on things, then, we will know when we see him."
"Yes, my lord.' She agreed.
Adolph's expression changed, he almost scoffed at the statement of his father.
Alpha, My foot." He thought, if only you knew he was an Omega, I wonder what your reaction would be.
"Ok, father. Let me get you the papers." He said, leaving the living room and walking towards his room as he opened the door, going to his drawer and bringing out the papers, checking properly if he was done with them, then he noticed some fangs coming out of his left hand on its own. It shocked Adolph because he didn't use his power to bring them out, so why was it coming out on its own. All of a sudden, it went inside, changing back to its normal form as if nothing had ever happened. Adolph stared at his hand for a second and shrugged his shoulders not even thinking about why it happened in the first place. He came out of his room shutting the door behind him and saw Melvin walking towards him, who immediately saw him and gave a little bow and greeted his master.
"How are my kids? Are they okay now?"
"Yes, my lord. The doctor just prescribed them some drugs they are going to take once they wake up and he added that they will be waking up soon. But, next time we should be careful of the kind of person we put around them, that the person's scent seemed like he was in heat and the scent was too strong for the kids to handle, that was why they fainted and also if care was not taken, something much worse would have happened to them?" He elaborated.
"Something much worse?"
"Yes, my lord. He said they were still going to be facing…"
"I get it,' Adolph said and clenched his fist. What happened to his kids, wasn't supposed to have transpired. It shouldn't have occurred and if his guards hadn't brought that Omega to his mansion, this wouldn't have developed. Thank goodness, his wife was not home or else, it would have been something different and she would have begun asking a bunch of questions and hell would have let loose if she had seen the kids in the condition they were currently in.
"What about the Omega?" He faced Melvin and frowned.
"The doctor said, his body was somewhat…" He paused.
"Somewhat, what exactly? He asked.
"That's where he stopped, my lord and he said if you want to know more details about him, you should come to see him. It was very important and confidential, Sir.' He said.
Very important and confidential. Why should he want to know about him? There was no need to go to see him, it wasn't his concern and there was no need to go see him and ask what was wrong with the Omega, it wasn't his business and he didn't give a damn about it. He didn't like where this was going and if this should keep up, word will get out about an Omega staying in his mansion which will get to the pack and include his wife hearing about it, which will be terrifying and worse.
There was only one thing to do now.
"I get it. Watch over my kids, once they wake up, prevent them from seeing the Omega and setting their eyes on him again or neither should they speak a word of it or let Lupita know about it. Let me handle this, Melvin and don't disappoint me, make sure word doesn't get out that someone else is living in the mansion. Have I made myself clear?" He instructed authoritatively.
"Yes, my lord.'
"And, did the doctor prescribe suppressants for the Omega?"
Melvin answered. "Yes, my lord, he prescribed suppressants for him and instructed him to take them after a proper meal to keep his hormones in balance."
"Good. Keep an eye on him, make sure he doesn't step out of the room.'
"Yes, my lord."
Adolph's gaze was still on him one more time, he walked away, thinking of the next action to take and as soon as he got to the living room, his father stood up and collected the papers from him and double-checked them and nodded.
"This is very good,' he laughed. "Brilliant, my son?'
"Thank you, father."
"I'm very impressed to see this, you really took after me, your father."
"You always say that all the time, father.' He chuckled.
"Of course, I always say that." He admitted. "Now, where are my grandchildren?"
"Father, they are about to wake up anytime soon and I think you should come back later to take a look at them."
"Alright? I will be coming back later, then, to see them but I hope I'm lucky so they can get to have a little play with their grandfather."
Adolph laughed.
"Ok, I will be going, son. So, take care of the household Ok." He said.
"Alright, father, I will try my absolute best in keeping everything in order."
Richard nodded and agreed with his son, then, he left the both of them alone and walked out of the living room with one of the guards escorting him outside, shutting the door behind him.
"You can leave now, priestess." He ordered.
"My lord…"
"You heard me and don't let me repeat myself, priestess. Never mention any of this to anyone, especially, my father. Let this be between us, do I make myself clear."
"Yes, my lord." She replied. She had nothing else to say to him again, if he doesn't want to listen to her, there was a huge problem and if she doesn't get it solved, she will be the one to take all the blame.
She can't keep quiet about this, she has to find another way too.
There should be another way, she thought.
"You can leave now?" He instructed and shifted his gaze away from her as she bowed before him again.
"Thank you, my lord." She said and walked out of sight.
Adolph strolled to Liam's room, without even knocking on the door, he burst open the door and walked in. Liam, who had woken up a few minutes ago, was startled as he instantly got up from the bed and stared at the stunning Alpha in front of him, whose gaze was also on him.
He was damn hot, Liam, ogled.
