Chapter 88 FLEETING PEACE
WILLA’S POV
BOTH.
We ended up doing both.
And bloody hell, it was so damn good.
I didn’t think I'd ever felt this sated and blissed out before.
And yet, Gallahan was still trying to draw me into another round, as if he hadn’t even had half of his fill.
“You’re quite insatiable, aren’t you?” I teased with a sigh as he carried me out of the bathroom after a round of shower sex.
“For you? Yeah,” he answered with a smug grin, settling me down on my writing desk with nothing but my robe keeping me decently covered.
Meanwhile, Gallahan only had a white towel wrapped around his waist.
“You’re just too… tempting. Too… addicting,” he said softly, nosing along the line of my jaw while his hands danced dangerously along the tie of my robe.
“Seriously, you need to stop,” I said, bubbling a little with laughter and pushing him away from me. “It’s already pretty late in the night. We just stepped out of the bath, and we have to eat dinner.”
But Gallahan was nothing if not stubborn. So he didn’t budge at all, standing firm on his spot between my legs.
“I’m trying here,” he muttered huskily before starting to pepper my cheek and jaw with featherlight kisses, his lips leaving a pleasurable warmth at their wake.
It was embarrassing how such a simple attempt nearly reeled me in. I melted a little too quickly for my liking, my eyes fluttering close.
Still, I managed to push him away again, saying, “A meal, Han.”
“Yeah?” He withdrew his hands from me and crossed his arms against his bare chest. “You’re a full-course meal. So your point?”
“My point is that I’m hungry. Okay? I want real food.”
Somehow, this got him to completely relent. “Alright, alright. I’ll get you something to eat.”
“Go get changed, then.”
“Baby, did you forget you aided me in ripping my clothes off of my body earlier or…?”
My cheeks flamed, and I had no doubt that they had gone pink while my heart thudded wildly in my chest at the memory of me impatiently tearing his shirt apart when he took his time shucking it off his frame.
“Aw,” he cooed teasingly. “No need to be embarrassed about it. It was sexy as hell.”
I let the remark slide, pretending as if he didn’t say anything at all. Then with a levelled voice, I said “You’ve got a couple sets of clothes in my wardrobe. Those you forgot to retrieve from the hamper before you left.”
Gallahan grinned. “Glad you didn’t burn them in your anger.”
“I will burn them now if you don’t get changed and make me some food.”
A breath-like chuckle went past his mouth, his bluish gray eyes looking so bright. “Fine, fine. You’re so feisty.”
I raised a brow at him.
“Aaaaand, I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
He landed a loud smooch on my cheek before backing away from me.
And when he turned around, a wave of heat coursed through me. Because there on the wide expanse of his back, multiple angry red scratches were drawn long and harsh.
A part of me felt guilty, knowing how they must be stinging. But then there was also a sizable part of me that just couldn’t help but preen in satisfaction at the mere image of Gallahan being thoroughly marked as mine.
Because not only did I leave nail marks on him, there were also other pieces of evidence on how we were so lost to each other for hours.
From the teeth marks on his shoulder, up until the multiple hickies, which ranged from light pink to dark purple, scattered all over the patches of skin my mouth could reach while he was driving into me and leading me to the highest of heavens.
Gods… It was as if we were lust-filled beasts finally unleashed after decades of deprivation.
Needless to say, I was pretty boneless at the moment, and I badly wanted to just slip into slumber.
But my stomach simply had to be filled first.
After all, we had expended a considerable amount of energy as we did the deed like bunnies in heat.
“Wanna come with me to the kitchen?” Gallahan asked once he was fully decked in a fitted black shirt and a white lounge pants. “Or do you want me to change the sheets so you can wait in bed for me?”
I cast a glance at the messy bed, grimacing a little at how the sheets were visibly soiled with sweat and cum. And likely saliva and tears too.
Because yes, Gallahan had made me cry and drool when he was thrusting into me with abandon, wild and rough, yet still somehow mindful of how he was making me feel. Making sure that my tears were purely from pleasure, and never from pain.
“I’ll go with you. I doubt you know your way around my kitchen,” I answered, slowly sliding down my writing desk to stand on my own two feet.
While my legs still felt a little too weak, I was still able to keep myself upright with little difficulty.
“Can you walk?” Gallahan asked with a big haughty smirk plastered on his face.
But what made the image of him really infuriating was how he looked so effortlessly nonchalant and cool as he stood with a laid back posture, leaning his weight more on his right leg while he had his hands stuffed inside the pockets of his lounge pants.
“I can,” I answered a little too waspishly while shooting a glare at Gallahan, just to pathetically hide just how damn attractive I found him to be.
Which was futile, given how I was moaning his name like a prayer less than an hour ago.
Ugh.
I needed to reserve some pride and dignity. Damn it.
I shouldn’t be so whipped for a man.
But it was hard when he was looking so damn dashing and so criminally charming.
My musing was cut short when Gallahan let out a chuckle.
“Okay, okay,” he said good-naturedly, lifting his hands up in mock surrender. “Just making sure I didn’t weaken your knees.”
“Just get out,” I barked, but there was only a little bite in my tone, and Gallahan knew it, given how his eyes continued to shine with mirth.
“I thought you’re going down with me.”
“Not when I’m still in my robe. No,” I replied as I slowly walked towards my wardrobe, making sure that my gait didn’t betray how I was still affected from the multiple rounds of sex with Gallahan. “Just go ahead. I’ll just make myself perfectly decent, just in case William and Gillian arrive.”
“Right,” Gallahan huffed from where he remained standing at the center of the room. “Do you suppose they had eaten dinner already? Or…”
“I’m pretty sure they already have. I mean, it’s already pretty late for dinner. So William had likely fed our daughter already.”
There was a beat of silence, but I didn’t have the full attention to dwell on it as I continued to look for something comfortable and nice to wear.
“Okay,” Gallahan said softly. “I’ll see you downstairs then.”
And my reply simply came as a hum and a distracted nod of my head while I pulled out a pale lilac chemise for myself.
Silence then swallowed the room after Gallahan made his exit, and I was able to comfortably get dressed without having to go behind my dressing partition.
And since I saw no need to rush, I allowed myself to go through my little routine. I applied my favorite oats and shea butter lotion on myself, then proceeded to towel dry and brush my hair until it cascaded neatly and softly down my upper back.
It was quite a serene moment.
But because peace could not really last long in my life, a loud shriek pierced through the quiet of the late night, sending my blood to run cold.
It was Gillian.
