Chapter 28 Are you relieved?

Chapter 28 Are you relieved?
Camilla and Danieru were now in the kitchen. Danieru stood behind Camilla, holding her hand and guiding her as she chopped vegetables. He occasionally glanced at Camilla, who focused her gaze on the knife and the ingredients they were handling.

Camilla's serious face amused him. He kissed her gently on the cheek, then laughed when she stopped working and looked at him.

"What? I'm just happy you want to learn to cook." Danieru leaned closer to Camilla, and he quickly kissed her lips, stopping.

He found them sweet; he loved them so much he didn't want to stop so quickly. Danieru closed his eyes and kissed Camilla's lips again, more gently. He released her hand and embraced his wife. He gently bit Camilla's lower lip, feeling incredibly happy when Camilla returned the kiss, just as tenderly.

It felt completely different. When he did this to Rachel, the sensations weren't as crazy or as sweet. Danieru slid his tongue into Camilla's mouth, then nibbled on Camilla's teeth, inviting her tongue to play with his.

They exchanged saliva, warming each other up and completely forgetting about the work at hand. Danieru knew he was lulled by Camilla, and Camilla knew she was increasingly able to erase the terrifying image as he touched her.

Danieru stopped his kisses, opened his eyes, and stared deeply into Camilla's eyes. He then brought his face closer, licking Camilla's soft lips and gripping her hand tightly.

Camilla, experiencing this treatment, swallowed hard, and felt nervous as he continued to stare at her. He made her tremble little by little, every touch and action of his made Camilla feel happy, but also afraid.

First, she was afraid of falling in love.

Second, she was afraid of leaving him.

Third, she was afraid that if time continued to tick away, everything would change.

"What's wrong? Are you starting to think about loving me?" Danieru asked. His face was still quite close to Camilla's, their breaths even touching.

Camilla gave him an annoyed look. "No way, hurry up and get on with it, I'm really hungry."

Danieru chuckled, then continued working with Camilla. They both continued chopping vegetables, with Danieru always hugging Camilla from behind while guiding her hand.

"What are we actually going to cook?" Camilla asked.

Danieru, hearing Camilla's question, simply smiled. "I made this recipe myself, and I don't have a name for it yet."

Camilla nodded. They had just finished chopping and rinsing the vegetables with water.

Now it was time to cook, and Camilla stared at the stove hesitantly. She was afraid it would explode, and she was afraid the flames would be too strong.

Camilla closed her eyes as her hand and Danieru's moved closer to the stove, and she squeezed them even tighter as Danieru began teaching her how to light the stove.

“Kitty, calm down... nothing bad will happen. I'm with you,” Danieru said softly.

Danieru's hoarse voice made Camilla's heart race, making her feel even more uncertain.

Klek ...

The sound echoed, and Camilla opened her eyes and stared intently at the stove. The fire wasn't as big as she'd imagined, and it felt quite relieving.

"Are you relieved?" Danieru asked.

"Yes, but what about after this? Are we going to roast the vegetables on the stove?" Camilla asked innocently.

Danieru, hearing Camilla's words, felt exasperated. Why didn't his wife know anything about kitchen matters? This woman had never been close to her own mother, and he was sure Camilla preferred handling office matters.

He had learned that Camilla owned several shares whose whereabouts were unknown, and that she was involved in many businesses.

He was certain that Camilla's knowledge was not far from the way her father-in-law had educated her. The old man was renowned for his brilliant mind and highly acclaimed achievements.

Although Alistair's family company wasn't as large as theirs, it consistently received major projects.

It seemed that Alistair's family didn't just take on any business venture; they only chose certain companies to collaborate with.

"Why are you so quiet?" Camilla asked as Danieru simply stared at her.

"How about you give me a kiss? I'll tell you everything soon afterward." Danieru smiled sweetly, eager to receive Camilla's kiss.

Camilla, accepting the challenge, immediately kissed Danieru on the cheek. The woman quickly stopped and looked away.

"Why are you so shy?" Danieru asked.

"Stupid, I just think you're completely crazy. Anyone else would ask for money, and you're asking me for something like this."

Danieru let go of Camilla's hand, hugged her waist, and buried his face in the left side of her neck. Danieru inhaled the soothing scent of Camilla's hair and body, becoming addicted and unwilling to stop.

"Danieru, Camilla, what are you doing?" asked a voice from behind. In fact, he had been standing there for a while, staring at the two people and feeling happy.

Danieru and Camilla were quite surprised. They immediately looked away and saw Mrs. Malaike standing with several boxes of food in her hands.

"Mom..." they both said simultaneously.

"I knew you wouldn't be coming home, so I came and brought you food." The woman immediately placed the food on the table and then looked around for some containers to hold it.

"Did you deliberately give the caretaker this place a day off?" asked Mrs. Malaike as she approached her son and daughter-in-law. The woman then smiled and turned off the stove that had been on, which her two children had not turned off.

“Y-yes, I deliberately gave them the day off,” Danieru replied.

Camilla swallowed hard, remembering the big lie she told yesterday. It felt so awkward, and hopefully her mother-in-law wouldn’t bring it up.

“Camilla, why do you look pale?” the woman asked in a worried tone.

Danieru, understanding Camilla’s situation, immediately smiled. “She’s lost too much blood, and… well… we’re sorry, Mother, we can’t give you grandchildren yet.”

Camilla lowered her head, unable to meet her mother-in-law’s eyes. She could feel Danieru releasing her embrace, and he then reached for her hand and held it tightly.

“It’s okay, you can have it another time. Now it’s probably better to enjoy your wedding, and I’ve already arranged tickets for you to go on vacation. Don’t worry about your work; I’ll take care of it for you. Do you understand?” the woman asked.

"Vacation?" Camilla asked impatiently; she truly hoped they were going to Japan.

Mrs. Malaike nodded. "Now, come and eat with me."

Mrs. Malaike quickly left, carrying some containers to put the food on, and brought it to the table in the center of the room. She didn't pay much attention to Camilla and Danieru, nor did she want to waste any more time.

Danieru immediately took Camilla's hand, and they approached Mrs. Malaike. He was delighted to see his mother smile, and he was even happier because the woman who gave birth to him also loved Camilla so much.

"Go to the dining table now. I'll bring the food when I'm done."

"Okay, Mommy's the best." Danieru gently took Camilla's hand again, leading his wife out of the kitchen and into the dining room.

A short time later, the two of them were in the dining room. They stopped and stood facing each other.

Camilla, feeling her mother-in-law's sincerity, felt even more ambitious. He would make her happy, he would free that kind-hearted woman.

Danieru's smile also made Camilla even more confident. She would keep him smiling, she would not let him be sad and live with resentment.

"If you were on vacation, which country would you like to go to?" Danieru asked suddenly.

Camilla, who was asked that, didn't know how to answer; she only wanted Japan.

"You like Japan, don't you?" Danieru asked then.

Camilla was shocked once again; Camilla knew what she wanted. Sometimes she felt like Danieru was a fortune teller; he hadn't even said what he wanted. But... how could the man know so much, when Danieru didn't know anything to begin with.

"Did you use someone to investigate me?" Camilla asked.

"I'm learning to understand you, and I didn't pay anyone. I found out for myself," Danieru said.

Mrs. Malaike, watching the two of them continue talking, let out a soft sigh. She was happy when Danieru returned to his former self, but she also didn't expect Camilla to be the woman whose existence her son had been hiding.

"Sit down and don't talk too much, children. We're going to eat," the woman said.

Danieru looked at his mother. "Mom, can you feed me?"

"You're an adult," Camilla said.

“Didn’t you hear Mother say we’re ‘children’?” Danieru asked.

Camilla rolled her eyes in annoyance. Why did she have to marry Danieru? He was so spoiled now.

“Shut up, don’t fight. I’ll feed you both,” the woman said.

“Mommy, we can eat by ourselves.” Camilla didn’t want to bother her mother-in-law.

“No, I came here specifically for you. Is it wrong for me to want to pamper my children?” the woman asked.

Camilla couldn’t utter a word; her initial discomfort only grew more uncomfortable. But… how would it feel to receive such attention from a mother? Camilla was getting excited; she wanted to experience it once.

“Mom, may Danieru and I feed you?” Camilla asked.

“Okay, I won’t refuse. Now sit down, and don’t talk too much.”

The two of them complied, sitting quietly and smiling as they looked at their mother.

"Oh my God, why are my children so adorable?" Mrs. Malaike chuckled as Camilla and Danieru stared at her, who hadn't yet sat down.

"Okay, I'll sit down."
