Chapter 44
"What??" I asked in utter confusion.
"Well I mean, you like him, and he obviously likes you, so how are things going with you two? Have you guys made out yet?" She asked. Dafuq??
"What?! Nothing is going on between us! And we don't like each other. If anything, we... uh... dislike each other!" I defended. Amused smirks spread across both of their faces.
"She's still in the denial phase," Josie said to Madison. I glared at them and nearly a second later, the doorbell rang.
"I'll get it," I said.
I quickly got up and ran over to the door. When I opened it, I was met with a pair of warm, brown eyes. I smiled and looked at them expectantly.
"I-um... well I found this in my gym and figured it was yours," Jessica said, holding out one of my favorite hoodies.
"Oh my god you found it! I thought it was long gone by now," I took it and smiled. Jessica smiled at the ground. It was easy to see why so many girls fell head over heals for him.
"So, uh, how are those fighting lessons going?" He asked me.
"They're... going," I replied, not really wanting to tell him how terrible I was at it. There was a long moment of silence, before a voice broke it.
"WHO IS IT?!" Madison yelled to me. I held in a chuckle.
"Jessica!!" I yelled back. A few moments later, they were both by my side at the door.
After they greeted each other and talked for a while, they had to go because apparently they were in the middle of watching 'One Tree Hill'... Thanks for waiting guys.
When they went back into my living room, Jessica and I faced each other once again.
"So what do you guys do during them?" Jessica asked and looked me in the eyes.
"Fight.." I answered with a 'duh' tone. He scratched the back of his head and fake-smiled.
"So you guys, like, make contact a lot?" He asked. Wth...
"Strange question Jessica, but um, yeah.. I guess so? I don't know... why?" I awkwardly smiled, not sure as to why he was so interested in the lessons.
"Just wondering... Well anyway I should probably go," he said and smiled again.
"Thanks for bringing my sweatshirt," I said.
"No problemo. Oh and you know that if he ever actually hurts you that I'll kick his ass, right?" He said as he started walking back to his car. I chuckled.
"I know you would," I smiled to him as he opened his car door. He looked up at me from his car.
"Goodnight, Crystal."
"Later," I replied and closed the door.
When I went back over to Madison and Josie, who were gladly watching one tree hill without me, they looked up at me expectantly.
"Ugh what now?" I dreaded the answer.
"Make up your mind, girl," Josie said.
"What the actual fk does that mean?" I ask.
"You know what," she said and grinned to herself as she turned her attention back to the tv. What in the flipping flamingos..
"She's really slow in the brain, let me rephrase," Madison said to Josie and bluntly paused the tv. "So you like Asmodeus, Asmodeus likes you, Asmodeus is best friends with Jessica, but Jessica wants to get in your pants... how exactly is this going to work out for you??" She asked. I let my mouth drop as I stared at her in complete and utter shock.
"Did you find Scar's alcohol stash?" I asked her honestly. She chuckled to herself.
"Why are you so damn naive and oblivious??" Madison asked. Maybe because I'm a girl wattpad character...
"I don't know what your talking about. Oh and thanks for waiting to watch One Tree Hill with me guys... jokes on you though- I started '13 Reasons Why' already." I said and they looked offended. "Yeah... I'm already on tape frickin 3."
"You need some ice cream to chill yourself," Josie said and handed me the ice cream. I stuffed some ice cream in my mouth and and sat down on the couch.
That night, I fell asleep to the sound of my friends ranting about One Tree Hill while I was thinking about everything that happened with Jessica.
I mean, Asmodeus didn't like me, but could Jessica?
I understood that the idea wasn't too far-fetched, but it was still pretty crazy to think about.
I just hoped that it wasn't true, because if it was... things had just gotten a lot more complicated..
