Chapter 34 bang
Genesis's POV
Delilah leaned weakly against me, trembling and crying constantly.
The dark red blood on her coat had dried considerably. Her hands hung unnaturally, and it seemed the gunshot wound on her shoulder was really bothering her. Looking at that glaring blood color on her coat, my parents' desperate cries echoed in my mind from time to time.
They lay in pools of blood, staring at me motionlessly.
My heart was also twisted with pain.
Eli should have received the news by now and would come to rescue Delilah as soon as possible, right? I didn't expect him to come specifically for me. I just hoped he could save me along the way when rescuing Delilah.
After all, I was also an adopted daughter of the Martinez family...
But I knew Eli's secret. Would he take this opportunity to just kill me?
While I was lost in wild thoughts, Delilah kicked me with her foot.
She glared at me. "Why don't you hurry up and think of a way to help me? I'm about to bleed to death! If I die, don't expect to live either!"
Clearly asking for help, yet still acting so high and mighty.
I shrugged and shook my head to indicate I had no solution either.
I was just a hostage too. It wasn't like I gave birth to Gage. Would he even listen to me? Besides, from the beginning, Delilah's foul mouth hadn't stopped cursing, offending everyone present. Those people not killing her was already good enough. How could they possibly help treat her wounds?
"You useless thing!" Delilah weakly scolded me. "You can't even do such a small thing. Living is just a waste of food!"
I kept my head down and ignored her. Why didn't Gage's hit just now successfully make her mute? Then I wouldn't have to suffer her torment.
Seeing I didn't respond, Delilah deliberately kicked the iron bucket beside me, making huge noises to irritate me.
What she didn't know was that compared to what I'd suffered since childhood, this kind of noise attack really meant nothing.
Bang!
Not far away, Gage irritably kicked over a chair, staring at his phone and cursing.
Both Delilah and I were startled. Delilah frowned and stared displeasedly in Gage's direction.
After this afternoon, I understood her behavior patterns. She wanted to curse again!
I quickly kicked her and pressed my lips together, shaking my head to signal her not to be impulsive.
If a living Delilah wasn't far more valuable than a dead one, I wouldn't want to meddle in her business.
Who knew Delilah would roll her eyes at me irritably. "You dare kick me?! What do you want?"
Her shrill voice immediately attracted others' attention. Gage kicked the chair and walked toward us.
I had never seen such a stupid person!
If heaven gave me another chance, even if she exposed me on the spot, I absolutely wouldn't take a single step in her car!
I used to only know Delilah was easily fooled by Eli, but I never thought she simply had no brains at all!
What was the Nelson family doing? They completely raised Delilah into a brainless, willful little princess who didn't understand basic social skills!
"I'm asking you..." Delilah angrily kicked me again. Before she could finish speaking, Gage rushed over, grabbed her hair, and slapped her hard across the face.
The wound on Delilah's chin immediately split open, and her cheek swelled up.
"Aren't you Eli's fiancée? Why hasn't he come yet?" Gage threw Delilah to the ground like a dirty rag. Delilah let out a piercing scream.
Without looking, I knew her shoulder wound must have torn open too.
Delilah curled up on the ground, trembling and shaking her head. "Eli will definitely come save me!"
Seeing her miserable state, I didn't feel satisfied. Instead, I shrank back in fear.
Gage had no humanity at all. He wasn't touching me now only because he thought I had no value. If I also caught his attention, my fate probably wouldn't be much better than Delilah's.
Gage slapped Delilah hard across the face again. "Ten minutes. If Eli isn't here in ten minutes, I'll cut your flesh piece by piece to feed the dogs!"
Delilah nodded frantically, curling into a ball and not daring to speak anymore.
She finally learned her lesson.
Just then, Gage's subordinate rushed over. "Eli's here!"
Delilah, covered in blood, was like she'd been injected with adrenaline. She suddenly raised her head and shouted toward the main entrance. "Eli! Eli save me! I'm here!"
She knelt excitedly on the ground, shouting continuously.
I also breathed a sigh of relief.
It seemed Eli still cared about his fiancée Delilah, at least willing to risk danger to save her.
I watched Delilah's excited expression and quietly lowered my eyes.
Eli should save me along the way, right?
Soon, Gage's subordinate brought Eli in.
As soon as he entered, seven or eight guns pointed at him, giving him no chance to act rashly.
Seeing this formation, Eli sneered. "Gage, haven't seen you for a few days. Your courage has gotten so small?"
His gaze immediately looked toward Delilah. Seeing her miserable state, he frowned with displeasure.
Gage stared satisfiedly at his expression changes, raising his chin and pressing the gun to Delilah's forehead. "Throw out all the weapons on you."
Eli didn't move, staring coldly at Gage. "You should know what the consequences are for kidnapping the Nelson family princess."
Gage waved his hand. Two subordinates immediately stepped forward to search Eli, taking out all the guns on him.
"Since I've been forced to this point anyway, I don't care about offending a few more people." Gage pointed to a chair nearby, having his subordinates tie him to it.
"Eli!" Delilah looked anxiously at Eli. "Save me quickly! These people are simply demons!"
I also quickly looked up, but saw Eli give Delilah a reassuring smile. "Don't worry. Since I'm here, I'll definitely get you out."
Gage kicked Eli's chair hard with a dark face. Eli's chair almost tipped over, but Gage laughed loudly. "Get her out? Even you are in my hands. What are you going to save her with?"
Eli's gaze swept across my face again, like I was just an irrelevant passerby. His attention was only on Delilah.
I disappointedly looked away, feeling increasingly worried. Was he really not planning to save me?
"I'm already here. Release Delilah first." Eli raised an eyebrow at Gage. "You don't want her to die here from excessive blood loss either, do you?"
Bang!
Gage punched him irritably, making Eli's left face turn aside. "You think you're still the young master of the Martinez family? You don't have any weapons on you. Killing you would be as easy as crushing an ant!"
He pulled out the rope tied to the back of Eli's chair and reinforced it. "Without your family, what are you? You better have people let me leave now, or I'll kill you right here!"
Gage pulled out hemp rope, wrapped it around Eli's neck from behind, and pulled hard!
