Chapter 16 Dragged into the Women's Restroom
Eli's POV
What did she say?
AIDS? Rape?
No matter what, Genesis was still a Martinez. How dare Sofia bully her like this?
How many things had she done when I wasn't looking?
Rage immediately burned in my chest. I walked forward with a cold face and kicked Sofia hard in the lower back.
Sofia fell heavily to the ground, caught off guard. She turned to curse but froze completely when she saw me.
"E... Eli?"
Sofia's lackeys immediately rushed forward to help her up.
I looked at her coldly. "Repeat what you just said."
Sofia was startled, not knowing how much I had heard. She hesitated, not daring to speak.
I pulled out my gun and spun it in my palm. "I'll give you one more chance."
Sofia trembled and collapsed to the ground, shakily repeating what she had just said, then quickly explained, "I was just joking! How could I actually do anything to her?"
"Really?" I chuckled softly, slowly moving closer to Sofia.
Sofia's face showed a hint of shyness as she nodded repeatedly. "How could I lie to you..."
I couldn't believe this woman was stupid enough to try to flirt with me. Did she really think I would be interested in any piece of trash?
Bang!
A flash of mockery crossed my eyes as I shot her right leg without hesitation.
Sofia immediately screamed.
The gunshot startled others in the bar, but when they saw it was me who fired, everyone unanimously stayed quiet.
I walked in front of Sofia, my tone contemptuous. "Genesis may not be favored, but she's still a Martinez. Small things we don't take to heart... but if you do something public, you're disrespecting the Martinez family. Are you?"
Sofia cried and shook her head desperately. "I'm not! I didn't! I was just angry that Genesis was seducing Forth!"
I sneered and stepped on her wound. She wailed but didn't dare move.
"I didn't kill you today only to give your master some face. If you dare touch any Martinez again..." I pressed down hard, grinding my shoe ruthlessly on her wound.
This time Sofia didn't even scream. She passed out directly.
Disgusted, I wiped my shoe sole on her skirt and walked straight back to the gambling table.
Delilah's face looked terrible. She pushed away her cards. "I don't feel well. I want to leave."
I rested one hand on her chair back, raising an eyebrow. "Really? I'll have someone take you back."
I raised my hand to summon a subordinate and told him to take Delilah home.
Delilah bit her lip hard, wanting to say something to me, but in the end said nothing and turned to leave.
Archibald immediately came over, nudging me with his elbow. "Didn't expect you to care so much about your little niece, even standing up for her! Aren't you afraid Delilah will go home and complain?"
I scoffed. "Why do you think Sofia had such nerve?"
Archibald's eyes widened. "You mean? But why? Isn't she your niece?"
I didn't answer.
Maybe it was because of what I witnessed in Genesis's room that day, or maybe Delilah wanted to take the opportunity to make me submit to her. But whatever the reason, I wouldn't let her succeed.
"She won't dare complain at home, because this already involves relations between two families. I'm not standing up for Genesis, just publicly maintaining Martinez honor.
No one can bully a Martinez, not even the Nelsons."
I could tolerate the engagement and didn't care about some small things Delilah did, but I absolutely wouldn't give her a chance to control me.
I lowered my eyes, hiding the killing intent.
No woman could control the future Don of the Martinez.
"If you say so." Archibald looked at me meaningfully and smiled. "But I think your relationship with that little niece of yours is anything but ordinary."
Genesis's POV
\[Thank you for taking me back.\]
Returning to the villa, I thanked Walker. He looked at me deeply but said nothing.
I pressed my lips together and typed: \[If you want to say something else, I can only say nothing happened.\]
Only then did Walker nod approvingly and turn to leave.
I breathed a sigh of relief, entered the door, and turned on the living room light.
A figure suddenly appeared on the sofa, startling me.
It was Savannah!
She crossed her arms, looking at me with a dark expression, her tone icy. "Did you have fun? On my most painful day, you think hooking up with Eli makes everything okay?"
My heart sank. She still wouldn't let me go!
Savannah stood up. "If you don't want your mother's corpse dug up and fed to dogs, you'd better come with me."
I bit my teeth hard and clenched my fists as I followed behind her.
She might not know my mother's grave location, but I couldn't gamble on that possibility.
Besides, even if I escaped today, she could still find ways to torment me tomorrow and the day after, unless I got into college and left the Martinez family completely.
I followed her to the confinement room. Savannah took an iron rod from the cabinet.
Yes, this was a 30cm long iron rod.
Since I was adopted, whenever Savannah was dissatisfied with me, she would use this to teach me a lesson.
Now just seeing this stick made me tremble physiologically.
Savannah mercilessly struck my back with the rod.
Sharp pain instantly hit me. I silently threw my head back, letting out a quiet roar.
"You think having Eli as backing makes everything fine?" Savannah sneered. "He can help you temporarily, but can he save you for life? Don't forget, Delilah doesn't like you either."
She mercilessly struck again. I couldn't help but fall to the ground.
The intense pain made my consciousness begin to blur. If possible, I wished I had never been adopted by the Martinez family.
That way, I wouldn't have to endure Savannah's pain from time to time.
Perhaps my performance wasn't enough to satisfy her. Savannah showed no mercy as she struck me several more times until I collapsed gasping, then finally eased up slightly.
She walked in front of me in high heels. "All these years, Eli has been secretly competing with your father for the Don position, yet you chose to get involved with him. You're absolutely heartless!
You eat our food, use our things, yet dare to side with Eli! Who do you think gave you today's glory?!"
Glory?
A hellish place like the Martinez family, a devil like Savannah. If this was glory, I hoped I'd never encounter it in my lifetime!
Burning pain came from my back. I lay on the ground with blurred consciousness, knowing without looking how terrible my back must look.
I only hoped this would end quickly. Once she vented her resentment, she would let me leave.
The cold floor maintained my last bit of consciousness. I heard Savannah's voice floating over: "Don't be like your slut mother, seducing men everywhere. Stay away from Eli from now on!"
