Chapter 6: Breaking her

Chapter 6

Ruby's POV

“Sorry… I… didn’t catch what you said…” I gasped, my voice trembling as my hands twisted into the thin fabric of the hospital dress, clutching it tightly, hoping desperately that I had heard him wrong.

“Strip, Red Bunny. I hate repeating myself,” Thane’s icy voice cut through the air. He stood just feet away from me, his hands buried casually in his pockets as he watched me.

I noticed the corners of his piercing eyes slowly turning a deep red and glowing faintly in the shadows. My throat tightened as I swallowed hard, my mind racing back to the near-death experience I had barely escaped and the words Lucas had spoken still echoing in my ears.

With shaking hands, I reached for the hem of the flimsy hospital gown I still wore. My heart pounded as I remembered I had nothing underneath, back at the hospital I had changed out of my own clothes into this gown.

My eyes squeezed shut, trying to block out the shame burning through me. Slowly, I pulled the gown upward, inch by inch, the cool air brushing against my bare thighs.

And In a single moment, I lifted it over my head and stood completely naked in the vast black room. The cold air stung my skin, I had never felt so humiliated in my entire life.

My arms instinctively moved to cover my chest, my hands cradling my full breasts, but it was useless, their size spilled over the coverage my slim hands tried to provide.

I could feel Thane’s sharp gaze raking over my body, his eyes like fire trailing across my skin. My toes curled against the cold, smooth floor as I stood frozen, waiting in dread for his next command.

But Thane said nothing. Instead, I heard the heavy thud of his boot against the ground, the sound sent a jolt of fear through my body.

He was moving closer and every hair on my skin stood on end. My heart thundered in my chest, fear clawing at me as my eyes snapped shut.

Was this it? Was he finally going to kill me? Or was he disappointed by what he saw? I knew I wasn’t slender like the women I’d seen him with at his office, her body was slim and graceful. My hips were wide, my breasts heavy and overflowing, nothing like the elegant figure he seemed to prefer.

Unable to bear the suspense any longer, my eyes snapped open, and I found Thane standing just inches away, his narrowed gaze fixed on my breast. A deep red blush of embarrassment spread across my cheeks.

“Where did you get that mark?” Thane’s voice was cold, cutting through the silence as he leaned even closer, his breath cool against my skin.

My head jerked upward, then down again as my eyes landing on the faint, skull-shaped scar nestled between my breasts. I nearly groaned in frustration at myself for forgetting it was there.

“It… it was from an accident…” I stammered, my voice barely a whisper. Thane’s hand stretched forward, and I gasped as his cold fingers brushed my bare skin. The contact sent a strange warmth radiating from the scar, his touch lingering as he traced the smooth, healed mark with a slow deliberate move.

“You are human,” Thane said suddenly, his voice dripping with disappointment, like the words left a bitter taste in his mouth.

His hand fell away, leaving my skin cold again, and I watched, confused, as he turned his back to me. He strode toward a distant door and I couldn’t shake the question in my head, Why did he sound so dissapointed? I was human, what else could I possibly be?

“Come in here and wash your filthy self,” Thane called out, his voice laced with disgust, sending a shiver racing down my spine. I bit my tongue hard, swallowing the urge to snap back at his cruel tone, my jaw clenched same with my fists.

“Yes, Thane,” I murmured softly, my voice barely audible as I forced my feet to move, following him through the door.

But I had barely stepped inside when Thane spun around in a swift, fluid motion. His hand shot out, seizing my neck, and he pinned me roughly against the wall. My eyes widened in panic, my breath catching as pain flared where his fingers pressed.

Thane leaned in so close I could smell his musky, masculine scent, a mix of leather and something darker. His eyes burned a vivid red and his fangs glinting as he bared them, his body mere inches from mine. His grip on my neck tightened, and I struggled to draw breath as my heart pounded

“What now? Do they no longer teach slaves how to address their owners?” Thane growled, his voice low and menacing. His other hand slammed against the wall beside my head, the sound making me flinch, my body trembling under his towering presence.

“Pardon me…” I whispered, my voice shaking through the pressure of his hold. I hated this feeling, like I was walking on a razor’s edge, one wrong move away from this monster tearing me apart. My chest heaved as I tried to stay calm.

“When a slave begs, it does so on its fours,” Thane snarled through gritted teeth, his voice cold.

His hands let go of my neck, leaving my skin cold and stinging where his fingers had squeezed. I gasped, my mind racing to understand his words.

My head snapped up, and I stared into his scary red eyes, wide with fear. Was he really going to take away the last bit of pride I had left.

“On your fours, Red Bunny. I want to see you beg for your life,” Thane said with a nasty smile. His tongue slipped out, licking his pointy fangs, which shone in the dim room.

He stepped back, his boots thumping on the hard floor, and put his hands in his pockets, looking calm but dangerous, like a devil watching its prey.

My heart beat fast, full of fear and anger. My eyes turned hard, filled with hate from deep inside, but I quickly looked at my bare feet,

to hide the look in my eyes.

I didn’t want him to see it I'm sure he’d enjoy breaking me more. Slowly, my knees bent, shaking as they touched the ground. My hands pressed on the icy floor, and I sank to my limbs, my body trembling with shame, feeling smaller than ever.
