Maximus noticed her discomfort as he saw her fingers fidgeting with each other.
"You felt afraid of me, right?" Maximus chuckled "Do not worry, I'm not going to eat or bite you. Call me Maximus." Maximus said, made Luna lift her chin, and looked at the man. She saw that he was smiling at her. She cannot imagine that the man she was scared to look at could smile despite him showing a serious expression to her a while ago.
"Oh, okay... Maximus. It means Heaven or Sky, right?" Luna said while giving him her best smile. She was trying to make a new conversation with Maximus, but she was still uncomfortable since this is the first time, she embarrassingly met him.
When Maximus heard her saying his name, he could not avoid but hide his smile in the shadows. She even knows the meaning of his name, well, in fact, he does not know about it though. He thought that it has been days since he last saw and heard Luna. Without knowing, he was the one who snuck inside Luna's house, the night after she went home from the hospital.
Luna had no idea that the man she was talking with was the man who snuck inside her house that night. Only Maximus knew her. From the moment Maximus went home, he immediately asked his assistant to find some information about her. He thought sneaking at Luna's house that night was a wise decision. It was not until he knew her name. Yet, he does not have any plan to do it again, since he knew her already.
That night, Maximus was being chased by a group of men wearing black suits with guns. Someone was trying to kill him, and he does not have any idea who the mastermind was. Since he was wealthier and clever, he can and could dominate the whole business industry if he wanted to. That is why a lot of his competitors were trying to plot him to overtake his position and power.
When Maximus received the report from his assistant, he discovered that Luna was an orphan, a Med student, and the lover of his friend Shawn.
In just one day, he knew everything about Luna, but fate seemed to be playing with him. He did not expect to see her again. He was just lucky that her sister approached and befriended her. However, he was thinking how does Sarah know about Luna and what is her intention? Why did Sarah approach her? He knew his sister well...
"Uhm... Maximus? Maximus! Is there something wrong with... with my f-face? You are looking at me for almost three minutes" Luna timidly asked. She felt embarrassed the moment Maximus stared at her and did not expect him to stare at her for a long time. Luna even tried to touch her face to check if there is something wrong.
When Maximus had noticed the uneasiness of Luna, he immediately faces the front. He was not himself for the moment and did expect that she was staring at her for a long time.
What is he thinking? Luna thought.
"It is nothing, I just thought of something" Maximus explained and started the engine of his car. What is this feeling? Maximus thought then he felt his heart beating fast. He ignored it then faced Luna again.
When Maximus was about to tell something, a sudden knock on the car's window stopped him. Both Maximus and Luna looked at Sarah who was smiling outside, waiting for them to open the car's door so she could get inside.
"What took you so long? It has been 105 minutes since then. Where had you been?", Maximus madly asked Sarah.
"To the comfort room, of course. Duh. Just to get the waste out of me. I think I ate some spoiled food earlier. Luckily, it happened after the exam" Sarah sighed then entered the car.
Maximus's eyes squinted. He knew that his sister lied to him.
When Sarah got in, she noticed the silence and awkwardness between her brother and her new friend. She saw his brother fixing his necktie even though it was already fixed and Luna kept staring at her phone to browse social media.
"Did something happen here while I am not around?" she asked teasingly. She knew that something had happened since the two were not comfortable.
"No/Nothing," Maximus and Luna answered in chorus.
The two obviously looked suspicious, did they think they can lie? Sarah thought, then smiled mischievously.
"Nothing, huh? But if you say so, okay" Sarah stared at them with teasing eyes.
"Let us go. We were wasting so much time". Maximus replied, annoyed.
"I am sorry brother, but you promised to spend your time today with me, so stop complaining and let us go to my favorite seafood restaurant," Sarah said and showed her lovely smile.
Maximus started to drive the car and went to Sarah's favorite restaurant. The car was full of annoying chuckles from Sarah and Luna while Maximus was forced to drive and listen to them.
"Luna, visit me at my home sometime when you are not busy. Lately, I was so stressed spending my time alone doing nothing. At least, now that I found a new friend like you, my new days will finally become meaningful" Sarah said.
"Sure," Luna noticed that Sarah was a talkative and cheerful person, unlike his brother who was keeping himself silent and did not have time to talk with them.
"I will let my brother fetch you" Sarah smiled mischievously.
"You do not have to do that. I can go by myself. By the way, thank you" Luna felt embarrassed by the thought that a wealthy person like Maximus Frost will drive her just to have fun with his sister, Sarah.
"Oh, come on, Luna. Do not be shy, look at my brother... he is not complaining at all, meaning he is willing to drive you, right brother?" They both look and wait at Maximus who was busy driving.
Maximus did not answer so Sarah looked at Luna with a satisfying reaction. "See? He is willing, so do not worry too much, okay?"
Luna forcefully nods her head, thinking why does a man like Maximus Frost be willing to do something like that for her?
