Chapter 135 JAILTIME? OR PRISON BREAK.
ELDRIC'S POINT OF VIEW.
My eyes turned as wide as saucers, as I stared between them. This makes no fucking sense. There’s no way that halfwit Alicia was smart enough to keep evidence. I made sure every move she made was tailed up until she died. I didn’t trust the bitch, so how on earth did she even fucking have the chance to leave evidence against me?!
“Shocked?” The blonde-haired witch, Alicia’s sister, asked, forcing my head up as I stared at her. My breath hitched as the full resemblance hit me square in the chest. The resemblance was fucking uncanny; it almost felt like my dead wife had clawed through the grave and was standing right in front of me.
My lips pulled in a snarl as I mustered as much hatred in my bones and said, “You all think you’re fucking smart, but I’ll have the last laugh. You’ll see. You’ll all fucking see and tremble by the time I’m done with you.”
“Well, we’re quaking in our boots now. But you know what will really make us tremble? Your ass behind fucking bars.” Erika said, a victorious smile on her face. “Take him away, officers.” She directed, and instantly, I felt the pressing grip of the two hefty men behind me.
“Wait.” Lucien’s voice came in, and instantly, I felt hope swell in my chest. He was my son, my flesh and blood. He would fight for me, I just know it. It’s said that blood is thicker than water. Maybe now he’s finally snapped out of whatever witchy hold his cunt of a mother had on him, and he would finally be the boy I always wanted him to be.
He pulled his hand from Sloane’s hold gently, almost as though she would break if he pulled any harsher, and that… that made me rethink this. If he was still so gentle on that whore, he might not be the boy I raised after all.
My son walked over to me with a grim expression, but I gave him a wide smile. Because I just knew my son would be loyal to me. “Son, you’re going to tell them to drop these handcuffs, aren’t you?” I said, maintaining my smile. “You love your father, right? Imagine me in prison; it would be horrid. Come on, be a good boy and tell them to let me go, and I’ll even share some parts of my company with you. You can be one of the directors while I assume the position of Chief Executive Officer.” I rushed out, and as soon as my hope dwindled from the way my son stood before me, absolutely nothing but silence and a grim expression which made the room feel like it’d been dipped in ice.
All of a sudden, Lucien smiled, his lips stretching wide so even his teeth were on display. And in that moment, I finally caught a resemblance between us. All this time, he’d always looked like his mother, acted like her, hell, he smelled like her too. The only thing I think I gave him was my voice. Because even his hair was the same golden shade as she had, not like the blonde mixed with streaks of brown of mine.
“My son,” I whispered, but it was loud enough for them to hear. They needed to know that my boy was a Hayes, not a fucking Ravenscroft. It was my blood running through his veins, and because of that, he would grow up to be just like me. “Go on, tell them to let me go, so we can get on with the transfer at the company.”
Before the words fully left my lips, I felt a harsh punch hit me square in the jaw. Blood trickled down from my already split lip from Erika’s smack. I hissed in pain, shock, and rage as I drew my head back to stare at my son.
“What the hell, Lucien?!” I yelled.
“You must have lost whatever remains of your fucking mind, you pig.” My own son spat at me, hatred clear on his facial expression as he stood over me. I was on my knees before him, the force of his punch pushed me to such a position, and the second I realised it…..I felt the utter humiliation wash over me.
The very powers I fought against, the rich, the wealthy, the billionaires I hated, stood above me, while I was on my knees. A position I swore I would never be in, ever since Alicia’s parents had me go on my knees as one of the things I needed to do to prove my love for their stupid daughter.
A bitter taste spread in my mouth, as my tongue grew dry instantly. I could feel a headache looming, as the memory became clearer with each second that passed. I hadn’t wanted to do it, but I did, thinking it was a small sacrifice to pay, and I would become the CEO once I married her.
You could say the reason I always hit her was from the rage of not getting what I thought I would from her stuck-up parents. I fucking deserved the company!
Not their daughter.
Not a woman over me, a man!
“You killed my mother, Eldric”, Lucien said, snapping me out of the memory. “You robbed me of the one chance at getting to know the only other woman in my life who served as a source of light for me. And you think what?
That I’d side with you over her?” He said, releasing a sound that felt like both a chuckle and a scoff at the same time.
“You’re supposed to be my son!” I hissed, wiping the blood from the side of my chin.
“Exactly, you motherfucker. I’m supposed to be the one person you protect, but not treat my mother like she was the dirt under your shoes, especially not in front of me!” He yelled, the force of his anger palpable.
“Oh, please.” I scoffed, rising slowly to my feet because of the guns digging into my every side. “You were supposed to be stronger than this. Believe it or not, I made you strong, but you weren’t supposed to be this….weak.” I spat, my eyes digging into his. He stared me down, not once removing eye contact from mine. “You choose to side with Alicia over me, your flesh and blood?”
“She was my flesh and blood, too!”
“Yes! But your loyalty should lie with me, not with her.”
“Did you sing me to sleep whenever I was scared of the monsters under my bed? Did you play games with me even though you were injured, in pain, and bleeding from the force of the injuries your husband inflicted on you? Did you hold me at night whenever I cried due to my fear of the man who was supposed to be my father, even though your inquiries were very fresh from the beating you received earlier that morning?
I’ve barely scratched the fucking surface of all you did to her, all she had to endure from you. But you should get my point, you motherfucker.”
My response to his melodramatic outburst was a hysterical laugh. My son was truly pathetic, or wait….:” I’m sure that bitch whored herself out, Lucien. You cannot be my son, no seed of mine would act so……pathetic.” I said, relishing in the way his jaw tightened, as the fire in his blue orbs grew. I heard his stupid girlfriend gasp from where she stood, forcing my attention to her instead.
She glared at me, her bluish green eyes digging into mine as I spoke, so she would know to tremble and beware of the coming days.
“But you know what? What I did to your mother was nothing. I took that cunt Alicia from you, and you seem to have deluded yourself into thinking you have some other source of that same light, or perhaps even stronger by your side. But I swear to you, I will have it snuffed out.
Watch out, boy.” I spat at his feet. “Sloane will be beneath the earth in the next few days, because I would either have killed her or buried her alive.”
