Chapter 7

(Maggy)

“ALANO once told me that the best way a man can catch a woman’s heart was through showing her great things about himself. In short, through impressing her. But I don’t want to do that. I just want to be me. I want to show you who I am with the hope that you can somehow like what you see,” I remembered Austin saying after he took me to his library on our first date. He looked embarrassed as he brushed his fingers over his curly hair. “I don’t want to pretend to be someone I’m not. This is just me, Maggy.” He spread his arms as he looked around the library inside McClennan’s mansion. “This is my favorite place and everything about this reflects who I am. I’m just a typical guy.”

I also remembered being lost for words. Sincerity was all over Austin’s eyes when he told me those words. And for one brief moment, warmth filled my chest. Goodness, he was truly an innocent man. Austin McClennan had everything that money can buy. But he was a total newbie when it came to relationships. And I wanted to celebrate that his first time was with me… just as I planned it to be.

Ever since we saw each other again at the restaurant three nights ago, he did not let me out of his clutches again. He took me to my condo unit and took my contact number as well. For the past two days, we only communicated through cell phones since he was still busy dealing with the mining problems in their family business.

But this morning, he showed up on my doorstep and announced that now that he had fixed everything in the company, it’s time he fixed our situation, too. He told me he would court me. The next thing I knew, he took me to his mansion. He toured me around before he brought me at the library there.

It was my plan to have Austin chase after me especially after I’ve proven how much he wanted me. One of the things I’ve learned in business was to always keep the clients interested. I have to come up with various ways so they wouldn’t be stolen by our competitors. I believe that’s what I’m doing now. Austin was a McClennan. That was more than enough reason for women to cling to him despite his nerdy and recluse nature. Not to mention that he had the face and the body that women would fantasize about. That’s why he was wrong. Someone like him could never be just “a typical guy.”

The McClennan brothers belonged to the Most Eligible Bachelors’ list on a famous women’s magazine. If I would be the one to chase after Austin, he would lose interest and would disregard me just like what he did to the other women who came before me. And I always wanted to be different that’s why I acted like I just came from a break-up which was true anyway. I wanted to see how far the nerd’s infatuation for me can go.

I wasn’t able to respond to what he said earlier because his family chef called and told us that our lunch had been prepared downstairs. And now, we’re in the entertainment room and watching Nat-Geo’s replay. I don’t really give a damn about that. All that matters to me was this mission. But I was amused by the fascination in Austin’s eyes as he watched on the big screen.

Looking at him like this makes me want to do something naughty. I smiled wickedly as I sat closer to him. I saw his Adam’s apple moved. Hmm… So he was fully aware of me even if his eyes were on the TV? And here I thought he was so into Nat-Geo.

I began rubbing his thigh as I whispered in his ear. “You look so sexy watching the things you like.” I flicked the inside of his ear with the tip of my tongue before I took his earlobe gently between my teeth. I felt him shivered. I was glad I took the initiative. Otherwise, I’m worried I might be waiting forever. I could sense just how much he was attracted to me. I can see it in his eyes. But Austin was acting too much of a gentleman for his own good.

And I’m in a hurry. I have a scoundrel to punish. I need to rattle not just Austin’s heart. But his body, too. The rest would follow afterwards.

“Maggy…”

“What?” I asked innocently. Although when he called my name, it gave me a strange feeling. “Go ahead, just continue watching. Don’t mind me.”

My hand continued stroking his thigh slowly and firmly until I reached his crotch. I shuddered when I felt it twitch on my hand. He was hard and it was impossible to hide that through the thin fabric of his slacks. His breathing became heavy. “Why are you getting hard? You’re supposed to be concentrating on the screen. After all, Nat-Geo is your most favorite thing in the world, isn’t it?”

“You are now my most favorite thing in the world. Nat-Geo doesn’t even come close. And if you keep teasing me like that, I might not be able to hold back. I’m trying my best to behave here.”

I softly blew on his ear. “And who said you need to be in your best behavior? I thought you wanted to show me the real you?”

When Austin finally turned to look at me, his blue eyes instantly darkened with lust. All men are wolves, indeed. Gone was the remaining trace of the innocent lamb I saw earlier. He held my hand and kissed my palm before sucking my forefinger. He did not say anything, but his eyes never left mine even for a second.

“What are you thinking?” I asked, now breathless.

He slightly brushed his lips against mine. “I’m thinking of slamming you down the couch and making love to you over and over until you regret ever teasing me like this.”

I gulped. I almost forgot how honest Austin was. And his honesty was adorable and dangerous at the same time. He lifted me so easily and so swiftly that I’m now sitting on his lap while facing him. I succeeded. His attention was now completely on me as his hand began playing with the straps of my sleeveless dress.

But I refused to be dragged down according to his pace. I moved and positioned myself in front of him. My knee was pressing his erection. He closed his eyes for a moment and groaned. “Maggy—”

“Let’s talk later. Right now, let’s just kiss some more. You told me you would help me forget my ex, right? Then do it now and—”

Before I could finish my sentence, Austin grabbed my nape, pulled me closer to his body, and fiercely kissed me on my lips as if the mere mention of my ex made the last strand of his control to snap. I felt him pulled down the straps of my dress as he deepened the kiss. And it blew me away for the second time. Austin could really kiss so well. I was surprised by the fire he was creating deep within my body through his kisses. Damn, he could make a woman submit to him with just his mouth.

He caressed my back as he licked my lower lip, making me open my mouth wider to feel more of his warm tongue. He did not waste another second and began sucking and licking the insides of my mouth. Our tongues met, colliding as I held onto his shoulders. It felt like he was sucking my energy as well.

The incredibly huge LED screen kept going on and on about National Geographic, but I could not hear and understand it clearly anymore. All I could hear were the vulgar noises our lips were making.
