All three doors slam simultaneously. I looked at Kade over the roof of my red car and noticed his eyes were fixed on the huge impressive school.
But then he walks away like he didn’t just come out of my car, like he wasn’t a new kid, like he didn’t know me.
What the hell?
“Hey! Don’t you need help finding your locker and classes?” I shout to get his attention. The Principal who was a friend of mom, emailed mom Kade’s schedule last night which she printed out for him right away.
Kade doesn’t spare a glance over his shoulder at me. Which caused me to frown. “I’m not fucking dumb.” He hisses, pushing the headphones in his ears again and intentionally blocking me out.
I didn’t fail to notice he had captured every female’s attention, which was to be expected with a guy who looks like they just walked out of a magazine.
“Yeah, you’re not dumb, just an oversized idiot whose ego is too far up their ass.” I snorted lowly, throwing my bag strap over my shoulder, and started walking towards the school.
I hated that damn blazer we were forced to wear. That thing kept me hot.
“Mia I swear, his ass is so perfect. I want to marry that ass.” Colby sighed catching up with me.
I looked over at him, confused. “Who’s ass?”
Colby rolled his eyes. “Your brother’s ass. I mean look at how those pants fit him. How can he pull off that stupid uniform? Not many can girl, that guy is a God.” Colby exaggerated, fanning his face.
I winced. Why would he keep referring to Kade as my brother? Now it feels like a sin that I always throbbed with need when I thought of him. I cringed inwardly. I should actually feel ashamed since he’s still my mom’s ward.
“How many times must I say this? Kade is not my brother. He’s just a guy my mom had to take in. He’s nothing to me.” The words were harsh but considering my frustrations with everyone worshipping Kade like he was an actual God, you can understand.
Colby laughs, not taking my words seriously. “Someone sounds jealous…” He sang, throwing an arm around my shoulder.
Colby was literally a few inches taller than me and wasn’t packing a lot of muscle like guys who work out. His frame was rather very lean. But his damn arm was weighing down on my shoulder like a bag of bricks.
“Don’t worry baby, I still love you more than him. You’ll be my maid of honor in our future wedding,” Colby joked. Well, I do hope to God he was joking. Picturing Colby marrying Kade was not only cringe but upsetting me in ways it shouldn’t.
Was I seriously getting jealous?
“Over my dead body,” I huffed as we walked into the school.
Colby fakes a shiver. “Let’s not talk about death when I binged watch a ton of scary movies last night. I swear I couldn’t wake up to pee last night, there were eyes everywhere,”
His words made me roll my eyes. Scary movies and Colby weren’t a good combination. I was just surprised he hadn’t disturbed my sleep by calling and saying Chucky was outside his window this time around.

Chapter 14
“Did we not talk about this last time Colby? Scary movies aren’t your thing. Try some drama series.” I sighed.
“If I watch drama series I’d basically be manifesting drama into my subconscious mind.” He whined.
I look at him with a raised brow. “So you want to manifest scary shit instead?”
He shrugs. “It’s more interesting in this boring life we’re forced to live in.”

I shook my head trying to listen to him but my mind wandered elsewhere, and so did my eyes as I searched the halls for him. Where was he?
“Good morning students. Glad to see everyone back and looking ready to learn-
A chorus of simultaneous groans of displeasure danced around the room. Mrs. Lionel only rolled her eyes, already expecting it.
She looks down at her watch. “We’re supposed to have a new student here today. Must’ve gotten lost-
The door suddenly opens and in enters Kade. He doesn’t look the least bit distressed for coming to class late. In fact, he strolled in casually with his schedule clutched in his hand, blue eyes scanning the entire classroom boredly.
Gasp resonated through the entire room. Gasp that belonged to mostly all the females. Except for me of course.
I resist the urge to roll my eyes.
Even in school, he’s so cocky.
Mrs. Lionel’s lips part. “Oh. Did you get lost….” She searched for his name.
“Kade,” Kade grumbles, looking irritated, stopping in the front of the classroom.
I leaned back in my chair, keeping my gaze focused on him to see what he’d do. Mrs. Lionel was very strict about being tardy.
I couldn’t help but get annoyed by the hush whispers surrounding me. Some thought Kade was some kind of God, while some thought he was an angel. I couldn’t help but snort at the last one.
Angel? With so many tattoos and a shitty personality? He was a devil, a demon sent from hell to torment me. Literally.
“Oh, then Kade, would you like to introduce yourself to the class?” Mrs. Lionel questioned.
Kade only grunts out. “No.” Before walking towards the only empty chair in the class which so happened to be beside me. I shifted in my seat, expecting him to glance at me. But he doesn’t and ignored me completely.
His scent suffocates me again like it had done in the car. All eyes drew towards Kade as he sat. He ignores them like he had done to me. He seemed to be used to the stares. And honestly, it wasn’t surprising seeing as his face was enough to draw anyone in.
I found my eyes completely drawing to him and noticed his legs were so long that he looked uncomfortably huge in that
chair.
“Okay everyone-” Mrs. Lionel starts but her words drone out in my ears. Kade places his bag on the desk, looking like he didn’t want to be here. I watch his fingers fumble with the zipper of the bag and noticed it was the only part of his hand that wasn’t tatted.

“Pictures last longer, red.” His gruff tone made my eyes lift from his hand to his face.

His eyes are not on me but the front. I redden as his words registered and turn away from him quickly. “Thought you said you’d be able to find your way around school?” I murmured quietly so he would be the only one to hear. I seriously didn’t want to get into trouble on the first day of school.
Kade gives me a fleeting glance. “I got here, didn’t I?”
I snorted, wincing in embarrassment when the kid in front of me turned to give me an irritated stare. I must’ve snorted too loudly.
