Chapter 65

Eric’s p.o.v

I was on my way back to meet my mate. I felt euphoria. She finally marked me. I had a complete bond!.

I had given up on the fact that I could have one, since she wasn’t a shifter and did not have the ability to have one. I walked as briskly as I could, adding a skip to my step.

“Eric” Melissa said, stopping me from moving.

“What? I’m actually busy right now” I moved to the side. But she blocked me again.

“There is something you need to know.” She looked dead serious, but then again, she always did.

“yes?” she showed me her palm and then a ring of fire appeared and then started dividing itself.

“Oooookkkkkaaaay?” I looked at her not even in the mood for what ever it was that she wanted to say

“That’s Eloise’s life.” That immediately caught my attention.

“She’s not human, she’s an outsider.” She looked at me. I felt the blood drain from my face as she said this. “her visions, they are…”

“Real” she completed it. It’s the outside world calling her.”

I shook my head rapidly like that was going to stop whatever she was saying from being true. “That’ means she would die in our world!” I could not accept that. There was no way I was going to accept that. She could not just leave me!

“Hoe can we stop it?” I looked at her, there was no way. I was sure to die if she left me.

“Nothing. We hope that she wants to stay….

Eloise’s vision

Hi” A guy said looking nervous as hell trying to talk to me.

“Hey” I said with Soo much disinterest in my voice. I had seen him a couple times in the area. He had asked my best friend, Lana, to help him ask me out on several occasions which I had to turn down.

“Can I speak with you for a moment, please?” his dark blue eyes seemed nervous as they looked anywhere but on me, and his tall and well built frame looked tensed. He looked as though he was ready to bolt if I as much as said a hurtful word his way.

“ I don’t know, I heard the boss is around today. I don’t want to be found wanting. He really isn’t the type I would want to mess with”

“I don’t mind!” he yelled. As if realising that he shouted unnecessarily, blushed. “I am sorry, I meant I would not mind to wait for you. I have a business to attend to. And I would be done around eight. Would that be okay for you??

“I get off around six and I have no intentions of waiting around like some hook up girl” I said and walked off, not even waiting for him to put in another word.

“Damn girl, that was mean” Lana said while sipping her coffee and leaning against the wall.

“Oh please, you know it’s nothing more than sex with those men” I said rolling my eyes.

“Well I don’t babe, I mean if someone like that wanted me beneath all those muscles I would be screaming my way to wonderland.” She said wiggling her eyebrows while I had a look of mortification on my face and I tried looking around to see if anyone heard and surely with the looks we were getting, almost everyone getting a coffee had heard.

“I mean come on!! Girl, he. Is. Ripped!!” she said emphasizing the ripped. And goodness, those cheek bones. I could find myself feasting on them all day!!” she said in an over exaggerated voice. Oh and let’s not talk about that firm ass”

“LANA!!!” at his point, I wanted the floor to swallow me up so I didn’t have to listen to her anymore. “Please, just stop it” I said trying to fan myself from the embarrassment. “I think we all get the point now” I heard some mumbles of agreements and mumbles on how disgusting we were being for talking about such in public.

“Oh please” Lana said rolling her eyes as if hearing what they were saying. “Its not like we don’t know how you blow Alaina's back in the lunch break room when you think no one is talking Chris” she drawled out.

The look of mortification that crossed his face gave away that it was not just a jab, it was true.

“lana!” I yelled again and this time, dragged her out of the coffee room before she exposed another person’s secret. What they did was neither her's or anyone’s business. And we definitely did not need to know that either.

“ what is wrong with you!’ I wanted to die from embarrassment. The red hair just looked at me like she did not know what I was talking about or know exactly what she had just done.

“What did I do?” she said widening her already big eyeballs making a puppy eye at me.

“ you know exactly what you did. You can’t go around spilling people’s secret like that!” I felt as though I was reprimanding a child, but most times, she did act like a child.

“Well I am sure they did not want it a secret, or else they would have waited till after work hours to do the nasty.” She said, the innocent look she had given me earlier completely wiping off of her face.

“So, tell me all about Mr. Pretty face” she said with much enthusiasm.

“Oh please” I said rolling my eyes. You know how it is. “I am starting to think that this guy is stalking me or something.”

“And why is that?” to say that her interest was spiked was an understatement.

“I don’t know if it’s just me, but I always see him around. Maybe it’s just me though. I think I am over thinking it.”

“You know you can tell me if you don’t feel comfortable with him right? I would know how to handle him” Lana was someone who loved to bury herself in her mystery and crime books.

“Right, let me guess. You’ve read a thing about this?” I said raising a brow at her.

“Damn right girl”

“Lana, he needs you” a girl came from nowhere and said making us pause our conversation. She didn’t need to say his name, we all know who she was talking about. Lana and our boss had a thing going on. Every living been ng knew that. It was more of a hate relationship that had blossomed into love somewhere along the lines.

“Why?” she said trying to sound irritated but anyone that had known her as long as I did would know that she was about to run head first to attend to him, that and the fact that an excitement crossed her feature immediately she hear that he needed her.

“I.. I don’t know bu...but I think it’s urgent” she said and left after she was dismissed by Lana.

“You guys had another fight?” I sipped on my coffee waiting for her to spill the tea.

“Don’t remind me” she heaved

“That would be the third time this week” I looked at her like she had grown a second head. “And it’s only Monday” with the way they fought, one would think that they would realize that they were too toxic for each other and call it quits already.

“Your point exactly?” she said getting into a defensive mode.

“I’m just saying” I raised my hands in mock surrender. “ whatever suits you love.”

“, Don’t do that!” she said stomping her foot and then pointing an accusing finger at me.

“Do what?”

“Make it sound like I am doing wrong and then come out innocent”

“I have no idea what you’re talking about babe, but do what makes you happy” I said and walked away

∆∆

“Marie? Someone has been waiting for you outside for the past two hours?” Chris, one of my co-workers said making me snap my head to him.

“What? No, I think you’re mistaken. Lana has gone home” It was normal that after work hours, we would go to her place and crash at her place a bit.

“No, it’s not her” he emphasized her with Soo much contempt. It was no secret that Lana was not particularly a likeable person, mainly because of her bluntness most of the times.

“Oh..”

I got up from where I had sat for the past three hours and went to go and see for myself who it was. “I thought you closed by six?” the weird guy from earlier said smiling at me.
