Chapter 14

“Anna!!” I yelled, swiping the key card I was given down stairs on the door. He had bitten a part of her neck.

“get away from here!” I yelled, going into panic.

She looked at me with wide eyes, trying to come to my side.

“El. ….. what’s going on” I did not have time to reply her, mainly because I was too focused on the guy to do anything else

“You know, I was starting to think it was a waste of time being with this one. She tasted good by the way” he said with a smug face.

I moved forward, ready to swing my fist his way.

He grabbed it, twisting my hand to the back. “Get. Away. From her” you the oh so familiar voice rang from behind me, causing my body to tingle.

“wh.. what the hell are you doing here” he sounded scared, as he should be. In a flash, Eric was in my front and broke the bones that were touching me.

Anna ran to me, crying, hugging me tight.

She was bleeding out.

At some point, Eric had changed. He looked exactly like the wolf that was in my room several nights ago.

Behind me, I heard a growl. It was deep, I turned back to look at who or where it came from.

Ian was taking deep purposeful breaths.

“Are you okay?” I looked at him. His eyes seemed to move from bright green to their normal color.

“Get away from her” I held her tighter.

“Eric..” I called in an unsure voice. In an instant, he was beside me.

“Eloise, I need you to step away from her, slowly” I looked at him, shocked that he could even suggest such a thing.

“Are you mad! It’s quite obvious that he wants to eat her! Or at least that’s how it looks”

I held a shaking Anna in my hand. “You know these people?” the fear was evident in her voice.

“The best thing you would do for her right now is to let her go. She is loosing blood and Ian needs to hold her.” I looked at him to see if he was joking.

“Please, trust me” he said in a low voice, I almost didn’t get it.

Slowly, I let go of her.

He rushed to her, startling her a bit before sniffing her.

“Mate” he growled out. I felt some sense of relief.

“please. Just let me go” she cried. She didn’t understand what was going on.

“You’ll be alright Chico” he said as he held her tightly as she passed out.

He took her out. Of the room in bridal style.

“Hi” I said to Eric. Now that everything had settled, I felt awkward around him.

“hey, are you hurt?” he looked genuinely concerned.

“You were the one that night, weren’t you?” I said looking at him. He looked like he wanted to avoid the topic, but there was no way I could do that.

“Eloise, I don’t think now is a good time to talk about this.”

“Why did you not tell me?”

“Eloise….”

“No! Answer me. Did you enjoy seeing me loose my mind? Did you like as I was going crazy thinking a wolf was going to attack me at the next turn? Was that it?”

“Goddess! You were scared of me! I tried to comfort you, but I couldn’t shift back! I tried severally! I was too sensitive to even try! And that was why I decided to give you space” I came the next morning to come and explain to you what happened! I couldn’t get through. Everywhere was spelled!”

“That’s no excuse!” I knew I was being unreasonable. He had a valid reason, but I was too furious to care

“do you know how worried I was? I couldn’t find you….”

“You know what?, I am tired you are lying. There is no way I am going to listen to you…. I want to go home.” I said. Now hat I knew that Anna was safe, I suddenly felt tired.

“I’ll take you home” he nodded and led me to a different car….

I got down from the car.

“eloise, look I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to upset you by not telling me who I was that night, but you have to understand..”

“Its fine. I get it, have a nice day” it felt as though I had a long day, but in reality, it was just afternoon.

To think I was about to leave the office earlier than usual today.

I walked inside the room, no one was home. I entered the kitchen as usual and saw a plate of chocolate bars on the table.

“typical mum trying to butter me up” I took a bar, and a bottle of milk from the fridge.

“Fuck!” I moaned as I but into the chocolate.

It tasted good, almost too good to be real. It tasted odd for some reason, but I didn’t seem to think much into it.

“Seer” a strange voice called from behind me, causing me to freeze up in my place. No one was meant to be able to know that I am a seer, except from Eric who had guess, to which I was yet to confirm, no one knew what I was.

Moreso, my mum had someone cast a spell on the house. It could not be easily found. Not except the person was stronger than aunt Gratchen. That that was saying a lot.

“Who are you” I said slowly turning to the person and meeting a familiar face.

“Who ever you want me to be” she said with a smile. It looked like an honest smile, but something about her still seemed off.

“I am sorry we have to meet this way. The barrier around the house would not let me come in with my new form.” She cracked another smile.

Pointing that out, I began to notice the little details.

At first she looked twenty or younger, but the more I looked at her the more I could see through it. She had wrinkles. Her posture seemed to be a little bent.

“You need to reach your full potential. There is nothing that would be more filling than that. You need to stop running away from destiny, and fulfill who you are.” She said and faded I was so confused and lost of words.

I sat on the chair for a while, trying to make sense of what she meant.

The more I sat down, the more I felt my throat get closed. I was not breathing.

“eh.. lp…PL … can… br.” I could barely make coherent thoughts and it was becoming more and more difficult to breathe.

“fulfill who you are!” the word got louder and louder in my head the more I tried to ignore it.

“Eloise!!” I heard someone call me from a distance.. the person was trying to touch me, but the feeling was very faint. Almost like I didn’t feel it.

I’m slipping I thought as I fought so hard to stay awake.

“Me..” I finally said out loud.

“Keep them open!!” the voice yelled.

“Fulfill your destiny” the voice in my had yelled.
