36- "Intertwined Moments"

Ellen was already downing glass after glass. The room started to spin, and she murmured to herself, "I think I'll stop now," as she gently placed the glass on the table and reclined on the couch.

Her hand went to her face, sweeping her bangs aside, and with closed eyes, she mumbled, "Celebrating alone feels so bad. I need company. Where's Sarah?" She pouted in frustration.

Struggling, she rose from the sofa, grabbed her phone, and dialed a number. Lying back down, she anxiously waited for the call to connect, hoping the person on the other end would answer soon.

Meanwhile, Paul's phone rang from his front pocket. He was facing an alluring woman trying to seduce him. Despite her advances, he resisted, snatching her attention away. "You won't be able to resist now, Paul," she taunted.

Slowly and provocatively, she began removing her skirt. Paul sighed and reached down to pick up her discarded blouse. With a determined look, he sternly told her, "Put your clothes on and leave, or I'll call security."

Paul's resolve held even though a nearly naked woman stood before him. He finally took out his phone and saw Ellen's name on the screen. A smile formed on his lips as he answered, his voice carrying a hint of uncertainty. "What's on your mind, kitten?" he inquired with a tentative smile.

Upon hearing Paul's voice, Ellen's lips curved into a smile, but she was also on the verge of tears due to her intoxicated state.

"You took a while to answer. Are you still at the club? I could come over. I need to share something with you," she slurred, her words dragging.

Unhappy with being ignored, the woman listening in stormed away, making an angry exit.

"No need to come, my dear. I'm wrapping up here, and I'll head to your place. Remember, I promised to be there. I want to hear your news firsthand. I'll be there shortly," Paul assured her. He caught the low "okay" from her end and sensed something wasn't right.

"Hold on, Ellen, have you been drinking?" Paul's question was met with uncontrollable laughter from Ellen, who placed her hand over her mouth.

"A bit, maybe. I'm just happy, you know. Celebrating calls for a drink or two," Ellen's voice became huskier as she concluded, feeling increasingly dizzy.

"Alright, just stay put. I'm on my way. Don't drink anymore," Paul instructed before hanging up. He rushed to grab his jacket, locked up, and hurried to his car, determined to ensure Ellen's well-being.

In under twenty minutes, Paul reached the condominium. He parked his car and hurried to his block. Upon reaching Ellen's floor, he knocked twice on the door, but it remained shut. He then called out, "Ellen, it's me. Open the door," but received no response.

Unbeknownst to Paul, Ellen had dozed off on the sofa and was oblivious to his attempts. Growing concerned, he dialed her number once more. "Ellen, it's Paul. Could you open the door, please?" His anxiety increased, and he began to fear the worst.

Eventually, he tried the door handle and found it unlocked. Entering swiftly, he secured the door behind him. "How could she leave the door open? She's so careless," he grumbled, running his fingers through his hair. Surveying the place, he noted its orderliness, except for a few vodka bottles on the table.

Spotting her on the sofa, he hurried over and discovered her sound asleep. The pungent scent of alcohol, her disheveled hair, and her flushed face were all evident. Despite her state, something about her deeply touched him. A woman who deviated from his usual preferences had intrigued him since the day he met her. Now, she held a special place in his heart, and he yearned for her intensely.

He knelt beside her, his fingers combing through her oily hair. "I've missed you. I never expected you to drink like this. You're even more alluring than I imagined." He smiled, cradling her and guiding her to Ellen's bed. Gently laying her down, Paul resolved to stay by her side until she awoke; he wouldn't leave her alone.

Ellen opened her eyes and could hardly believe who was right there before her – it was Paul. Their eyes locked, his gaze meeting hers. He could sense just how taken aback she was by his presence.

"I'm relieved you're awake, I was growing worried," Paul said, drawing nearer to her and cradling her face in his hands.

The touch sent a shiver down Ellen's arm, causing her hair to stand on end. She lightly nibbled her lip and spoke, her voice still somewhat husky.

"How... did you manage to get in here?" She blinked a few times, gazing at the man who didn't waver for an instant. A soft laugh escaped him as he replied, "Well, due to your distraction, the door was open. Fortunately, I arrived swiftly."

Ellen merely nodded, settling onto the bed with deliberation. She reached up to her head, removing the damp cloth, and offered him a humorless thanks. "I appreciate your timely arrival." Paul simply nodded, drawing closer. "Now, go take a shower. It'll work wonders, and afterward, you can share with me the good news you mentioned. I'm intrigued." Ellen nodded, her hands still clasped with his. Paul lowered his head to gaze at Ellen's delicate hands beneath his own. He gave them a tender squeeze and assured her he would await her return.

Ellen rose, snatched up an outfit and a towel, and made her way to the bathroom.

After a refreshing shower, Ellen slipped into a light blue dress and slipped on her sneakers. With her hair neatly arranged and her teeth brushed, she exited the bathroom. As she made her way through the living room, she found Paul waiting for her.

His gaze locked onto Ellen, who appeared stunning and emitted a pleasant aroma, the scent of roses from her soap intriguing him. Rising from his seat, Paul intended to take a closer look. His eyes traversed every curve of her body, taking in her graceful legs, the dress gracefully accentuating her waist and bust.

A smile curved on Paul's lips as he closed his eyes, savoring Ellen with an intense hunger in his eyes. Though his desire for her was evident, he opted to proceed with caution at that moment.

Sensing his longing stare, Ellen inhaled deeply, attempting to conceal the effect he had on her.

Paul drew nearer, their proximity mere centimeters apart. His fingers tenderly brushed against Ellen's arm. Suppressing a moan, she pressed her lips together.

Paul's smile widened, a playful desire emanating from him. "So, Ellen, what's new?" he inquired, his curiosity mingling with a desire to celebrate with her, intimately. Ellen released a profound sigh, allowing her body to relax before responding. "Well, the news is, I've completed my degree. Now I can finally pursue my passion."

Paul's astonishment was evident, his raised eyebrows signaling his surprise. Extending his arms, he embraced Ellen, who reciprocated, her arms encircling his back. Drawing her nearer, he felt her curves against his body, igniting a yearning to explore her fully, to experience her once again.

Yet for now, all he could do was revel in her closeness, her presence setting his heart aflutter.

"Congratulations, my dear. You've earned it. I'm genuinely thrilled for you," he congratulated. Ellen expressed her gratitude, closing her eyes and relishing his embrace. In that fleeting moment, Paul seized the opportunity. Lowering his head, he nuzzled her neck, inhaling her sweet scent and murmuring softly, teasingly.

"You smell divine, Ellen. I'm eager to celebrate with you, to savor every inch of you," he admitted, his beard brushing against her neck, eliciting a soft moan from Ellen.
