Chapter 113 CHAPTER 113
I spent the entire morning telling my friends thank you.
“Girl if you don't shut up and eat your food,” Akua rolled her eyes when I commented on her beautiful hair.
“She's been acting sappy all morning. Erin did you hug her again? I know you spoke to your parents yesterday and have been happy and grateful as fuck,” Mira chuckled.
“She hugged me but that was after she told me about my smile and how Asher doesn't deserve to breathe the same air as me.”
“You girls still talking about me?” The culprit slid into a chair near Mira.
The violence-prone girl that she is, Mira hit the back of his head and he was gone from beside her, quick.
“What do you want Asher?” Akua grunted.
“What? I can't hang with my new friends?”
“You have a clique already, they're over there looking at you like you've grown a second head,” she said, pointing to the Jax clique of the class.
I'd noticed how everyone was sequestered into groups of five with one boy leading them and the girls were usually four.
Maybe that's what Akua was talking about earlier when she said we'll all be tested as a group.
Unfortunately, I'll be leaving my group even though I'd grown to be less of a weak point than when I got here.
“They're boring. I want to be friends with you guys instead.”
“We'll rather make you our slave,” Mira rolled her eyes.
“Oh so now y'all think you're better than the rest of us huh?” He grinned, that same subtle tilt of his head telling me that something was coming.
“Leave us alone Asher, nobody here wants you,” I growled.
“Why? Because you prefer fucking instructors instead?”
Heads whirled to where we were and blood drained from my face.
“What is wrong with you?” I snarled, “I was poisoned and Master Florian insisted on making sure that bastard doesn't succeed in killing me, what part of that means I'm fucking anyone?”
“Oh but I wasn't talking about Master Florian,” he grinned wickedly.
“Nobody cares about what you're talking about Asher,” Kassandra’s bossy voice cut in, “stop pestering the girl and go sit your ass down elsewhere.”
“Come on guys, you really don't want to know who our weak new friend is fucking?”
“Alira is anything but weak, she killed a leech!” Erin snapped, coming to my defence angrily. It's the first time she's spoken to Asher that way.
Only, he might be spot on this time.
As the exchange unfolded, something crawled up my spine, a feeling of dread.
Asher knew something and I knew it.
So I stood up.
“Where are you going? Stop letting these dudes bully you all the time!” Kassandra yelled, angry as hell.
“Bully? I'm just letting everyone know it's now allowed for you to fuck anyone you want, she's got Master Zade and I've got my eyes on Miss Tessa!”
Noise erupted all over the cafeteria and I increased my steps. It's time to leave here anyway.
“How can you say that? He doesn't even talk to anyone!” One girl yelled at him.
“Oh, but he does more than talk to her. I heard them fucking like rabbits in the library yesterday. She moans so loudly it's a wonder you all didn't hear it.”
Shit.
I knew I should have been more careful.
“You should have told me you prefer older cock, I would have left you alone,” he kept barking at me, laughing hysterically while at it. “I wasted all my allowance money trying to get you but you chose an instructor instead. You're a greedy girl Alira, a very bad girl.”
My hands found the calling stone very quickly and I pressed it desperately.
My heart thundered as I ran, ignoring all the calls coming from behind me from the girls and honestly, almost the entire school.
My life here was over and there's no point explaining anything to anyone.
Styx must have been close by because she met me halfway and as I climbed on it, I heard Asher's voice.
“You're fucking the Principal too? Girl, you're very busy, hahaha!”
I blinked away the tears that gathered and got on the horse and she ran off, sensing my distress.
I got to Zade's house and as expected, he wasn't home. I saw Kovar in class today so I have no idea if he's done what he's set out to do or if something else happened but I just wanted to sleep.
But then I suddenly remembered last night, the thing that almost took me away and immediately I ran out of the house, getting back on top of Styx. It seemed like she hadn't even moved an inch since I went in.
“Thanks girl, you are amazing. Take me back to the hostel, I have to get some things,” I told her as I got on.
Hopefully, everyone is in Dragon Theory and not all over the place, asking me questions that I have no answers to.
Besides, I need to visit Eruwan tonight to be sure my system is clear, I don't want to get back to earth and discover I had poisoning in my system again.
It didn't seem possible, Kovar didn't have teleportation magic; or maybe he did, the bastard always found a way to me when I'm walking alone.
Anyway, I found my way to the hostel and thankfully, there was nobody in the room.
The girls who hung around the hostel weren't at the cafeteria when the news broke out so everyone ignored me as I walked past, some familiar faces waving hello. I waved back, feigning a joy I didn't feel.
The second I got into the room, I leaned my back on the door and forced myself to take deep breaths.
I could feel a panic attack coming and I needed to get out of here before it engulfed me. Counting doesn't work anymore, Florian isn't around, I can't find Zade and Principal Draco was out of the question.
So I willed it not to happen, begged, took deep breaths and forced myself not to think of anything related to Asher and his vengeance.
It worked.
Finally regaining a bit of my sanity, I rushed to my bedside wardrobe and began pulling out books, clothes, knives and everything I'd gotten in my time here.
I'd need them back on earth to prove to myself that I wasn't mental and had dreamt all of this up.
I packed them all in a duffel bag I'd seen in Erin's wardrobe and stood up to leave.
My eyes glanced across the room, at the place that had held me together while I broke down, learnt new things, cried, smiled, and made new friends.
It was a small room but it created this version of myself that wasn't so weak anymore. I might not know what next happens but I'm definitely better than I was when I stepped out and free-fell into that river.
I turned back, ready to leave, but the door began shimmering and then it opened.
“Alira, there you are!” Akua exclaimed, “Wait, where are your things? Why's there a big sack on your… shoulder…”
Oh boy.
