Chapter 119 Settlement!
At this crucial moment, Vetter's icy breath came into play, quickly freezing the Water Binding under his exhalation. In the blink of an eye, its original effectiveness waned.
The Elgin Dragon Beast put up only a minor struggle, causing the already frozen water elemental rope to shatter.
But it was too late to break free!
Vetter deactivated his 'Acceleration', allowing his wings to revert to their natural state, and then reinforced his four claws with 'Sharpness'. With this newfound strength, he grasped onto the back of the Elgin Dragon Beast.
This time, the three grey-white magic arrays that once surrounded him were replaced by three dragon scales, levitating in the air thanks to his spiritual power.
With a flick of his fingers, he sent an elemental force hurtling towards the Water Binding. The magic array sprang to life, and a thick water elemental rope emerged from the dragon scales, entangling the Elgin Dragon Beast beneath Vetter.
Before the glow of the Water Binding Magic Array faded, another elemental force rushed in, activating the magic array for a second time.
This time, the target of the Water Binding was the Elgin Dragon Beast's head. Under Vetter's control, the water elemental ropes expertly wrapped around its head and anchored it to the ground.
Seeing his opportunity, Vetter swung his limbs along the beast's body and clambered up to its head.
One of the floating dragon scales was aimed directly at the Elgin Dragon Beast's blinded eye, and the magic formation illuminated with a green glow that failed to penetrate its eye socket. Instantly, the Elgin Dragon Beast's body glowed green, while its feathers lost their luster.
Elemental Weakening!
Without hesitation, a cloud of dark light shot from the last scale into the beast's eye socket. The once violent struggle instantly waned.
After releasing the power weakening and sensing movement behind him, Vetter's heart raced. He spread his wings and soared into the air.
As soon as Vetter moved aside, Antawana ascended. Two dragon scales floated beside her, one recently receded in red light. A fiery red blade extended from her right claw, resembling more of a Flame Lance than a blade – perhaps because Antawana was a bit small!
However, this did not diminish the power of the Flowing Flame Blade. The blazing red blade sliced effortlessly into the Elgin Dragon Beast's eye socket, like a hot knife through butter.
The sudden intense pain sent the Elgin Dragon Beast into a frenzy. Despite the Elemental Weakening, it broke free of the Water Binding in an instant and rammed Antawana aside with its head.
Then, its hook-like beak viciously attacked Antawana.
But just then, another water elemental rope flew from the sky and restrained it. The bound Elgin Dragon Beast struggled briefly before becoming completely still.
Seeing that the beast was no longer moving, Vetter dismissed the magic array and dragon scales, carefully landing beside its corpse.
After inspecting the wounds, Vetter turned to Antawana and smiled, "Nice work! The brain is cooked!"
Upon hearing this, Antawana erupted in laughter before collapsing to the ground, panting heavily. Her dazzling golden pupils were filled with exhaustion.
Despite only activating the magic formation twice, she had used her mental power to manipulate two dragon scales half her size and exhausted herself keeping pace with Vetter's actions. The exertion was immense, particularly on her mental energy.
However, looking at the Elgin Dragon Beast's corpse, Antawana's mouth curled into a slightly gruesome smile.
They brought the beast's corpse back to their residence, where Vetter processed it in front of Antawana.
A short while later, Vetter gazed at the four large jars of blood and a green dragon beast crystal core before him, finding some solace. The blood could be used to create a Level 4 wind attribute magic power potion, and the crystal core could serve as a Level 4 wind attribute magic power core.
Of course, with just one crystal core, it was nearly useless unless refined into a liquid magic power core.
Nonetheless, it was somewhat of a reward.
Furthermore, feathers, scales, bones, and the like could be used as alchemy materials. Although they couldn't be utilized immediately, they could be collected for future use, as these items wouldn't deteriorate.
And then... of course, there was a grand feast to be had!
Vetter didn't mind; he had always been well-stocked with food in his dragon scale space. Antawana, however, didn't possess such a luxury. Otherwise, she wouldn't have been struggling to control two dragon scales with her spiritual power during the recent battle. For the past three days, she had either been starving or venturing out alone in search of prey, but this valley offered little in terms of both quantity and size of game. With the Elgin Dragon Beast's guards patrolling, her options were severely limited. Now, with food finally at hand, Antawana indulged herself in a feast.
"By the way, since we're planning to stay here for a while, shouldn't we give this valley a name?" she suggested.
Antawana glanced at Vetter upon hearing this. "Suit yourself!" Vetter replied nonchalantly, his tail flicking carelessly. "Alright, then I'll just come up with something quickly... uh... let's call it Fallen Dragon Valley, symbolizing the spot where bone dragons once crashed. Not bad, huh?"
Antawana gave Vetter an odd look at these words. "As long as you're content!"
Seeing Antawana's disinterest, Vetter's flicking tail gradually lost its vigor. If Celine and the others were here, they would have eagerly discussed potential names for the valley with him!
Just as this thought crossed Vetter's mind, a buzzing sound suddenly echoed through the air. Momentarily frozen, Vetter turned towards the source of the noise to see several Morse Dragon Beasts circling around Antawana in a chaotic manner. Antawana expertly dispatched them with a few wind blades, decapitating the beasts before continuing her meal. Meanwhile, a few small orb dragons swooped in to carry away the carcasses.
Antawana paid them no heed; clearly, this was not a new experience for her.
Vetter furrowed his brows and then spoke, "Antawana, I remember you often venture outside. If you come across these types of grasses, could you bring them back?" He used his spiritual power to shape the soil into the form of a grass for her to see.
Antawana nodded after inspecting the grasses closely. "Got it, but what do you need them for?"
"To brew a potion for the Dragon Plague!" Vetter replied.
At these words, Antawana paused her chewing and looked at Vetter with caution. "Are you infected?"
Vetter rolled his eyes. "Of course not! I'm just being cautious. The smell of blood and flesh can easily attract Morse Dragon Beasts; it has nothing to do with the Great Flood. Though looking at you, you seem quite accustomed to their harassment, so your chances of catching the dragon plague are slim. But still, it's better to be safe than sorry and prepare a potion in advance."
Antawana nodded, recalling the grasses Vetter had shown her earlier. Given that dragon plague was dangerous for young dragons, she might as well look for them.
"By the way, whenever I see you fighting, you have three magic formations hovering around you, and your body transforms every time you use them. What kind of magic is that?" she inquired.
Vetter chuckled. "A question you've been dying to ask for a while now! It's nothing special. Those three magics belong to another branch of Dragon Language Magic called Shaping Magic, of which there are only three in total! As for the magic array floating beside me, that's my own research—the magic array corresponding to the three shaping magics. I didn't invent the spellcasting method; it's already there. Do you want to learn? I can teach you if you're interested!"
Antawana's eyes lit up at this. "You're serious?" But soon, she realized, "What you're planning to teach me is that spellcasting method!"
However, Vetter shook his head. "It's not just the spellcasting method; it also includes Shaping Magic. And if you want to learn the corresponding magic formations, I can teach you those too!"
Antawana looked at Vetter suspiciously. "Really?"
Vetter nodded with a smile. "However, while I'm willing to teach, I'm afraid you might not be willing to learn, especially the knowledge of magic formations and even the three shaping magic spells."
Seeing Antawana's skeptical expression, Vetter detailed the pros and cons of Shaping Magic, its learning curve, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of magic formations, including some of their contents. By the time he finished, Antawana was beginning to find it hard to believe.
