Chapter 44 His Revenge
(Past)
Three days ago, at Placebo’s place....
Violence ahead
By the time Quisito retreated to the warzone, the fight was at its climax and his men were winning the battle. Placebo may only have asked for a fight, but Quisito brought him a war because he dared to lay finger on someone Quisito couldn’t even imagine getting hurt.
Her impulsive words had hit him unexpectedly, but he swallowed the agony they were creating inside his chest and focused on giving his men instructions, like a great leader should. In between the fight, he had to discard the bullet proof vest and as expected, he suffered many injuries across his chest by the time the fight ended.
The Don’s men slaughtered all the enemies, except one.
Placebo.
They captured him while he attempted to escape by shooting one of his legs. But he was alive and conscious, just like Quisito had wanted.
He was splayed across the ground in ‘X’ manner, his hands and legs tied with rusty chains and stretched to the four corners of one of the rooms in his own building, which was about to come apart any second. He was naked except for his black briefs that covered his privates.
Quisito’s men strode around him like vultures, until their leader arrived to extract revenge. Placebo’s face twisted into an ugly grin when he spotted Quisito walking towards him. It was clear from his expression that he wasn’t even a bit remorseful of his actions.
“Y-You know what I should have done...I should have fuked her rough with my dick” Placebo snapped while snickering and immediately Quisito’s palms clenched into a fist.
“DO IT” the Don’s command pierced through the air and the next second, his men took out their daggers, stepped forward and dragged their weapon on Placebo’s writhing body.
Quisito relished at the bloody sight in front of him as his enemy’s earsplitting screams filled the entire place. The dagger wounds on Placebo’s body from head to toe was deep enough to draw blood, but not too deep enough to kill him, because Quisito wasn’t done with him yet.
Placebo cried and rattled the chains as warm blood oozed out of every cut inflicted upon him.
“BRING IT TO ME” at Quisito’s next command, one of his men handed a huge glass container with a lid. When the cover of the container was taken off, a strong smell drenched the air around them.
Placebo’s eyes widened with terror when he caught the smell of fuming alcohol. He struggled against the chains and looked everywhere, until he spotted the source of the smell. It was from the bottle that Quisito held. He understood that he was going to be given the same torture he put Kate through, multiplied by a thousand-fold.
“Y..you can’t do that to me just because of a stupid teenager like her. You and me, w-we are b-better than that a..a..aren’t we...” Placebo scoffed, while coughing out blood.
“Actually....you are wrong about Kate, Placebo. She is not a stupid teenager; She a mafia princess. But on top of all that...she is a queen...MY QUEEN...” Quisito’s last words were filled with so many emotions that his voice cracked under its weight.
Placebo didn’t even get time to process what he meant with the statement, because the next second, Quisito emptied the fuming alcohol on Placebo’s fresh cut body. Earsplitting wails rose again, as the liquid burned every inch of his skin like boiling lava.
Quisito smirked at the sight and threw the bottle to the ground.
“LET’S GO” he commanded to his men, and they followed him out of the building, after fixing a time bomb in the room Placebo laid.
The last explosion engulfed the entire territory in flames as Quisito and his men watched the end result of their victory from a distance. He was content with the war, but her words still stung like a fresh wound.
Kate’s hatred filled words had transformed into sword that was pierced deep into his chest, which he couldn’t take out. He had expected her to shout at him, but he never expected her to be this harsh. There were a lot of things that he wanted to tell her in the presence of the father, a lot of things from the past, but Placebo took her, even before he got a chance.
He knew that she hadn’t meant anything that she had said, but still, he needed some time to recover. So, while coming out of the battle zone, he decided not to go back to her immediately. He couldn’t even imagine crossing paths with her anytime soon.
He desperately needed a break from her....
Present :
“D-dad I-I...” she stuttered nervously, not knowing what to say at the news of Quisito wanting to marry her. Even if he did have any such intention, he did a good job masking it.
“Child, I know what you are thinking, but first hear me out” Winston said, after observing her uncomfortable demeanor.
“Quisito is not whom you think he is...”
“W-what do you mean?” Kate asked, her brows furrowed in confusion.
Inhaling a shaky breath, Winston began the story of her past, that he had shielded from her for a very long time.
“A year before you were born, Elena, your mother, was diagnosed with blood cancer. Since it was in the last stage, everyone lost cheerfulness, including me, but she didn’t. Even after the diagnosis, she faced all the treatments boldly, and never once had I seen her cry. She smiled the entire time someone talked to her, and no one would even believe that she had cancer in her cells.
The day she found out that she was pregnant with you, was the happiest day of our lives. You gave your mother a reason to keep on fighting. You gave her a reason to stay strong, amidst all the chaos. But every doctor we consulted said that there was very less chance of your survival, because of your mother’s depleting health"
