Chapter 69: I Will Find You

▪ D O M I N I C▪

A few hours later, the strained grunts of Miguel Fuentes filled the air as he slowly regained consciousness for the umpteenth time.

I had taken great pleasure in torturing the man in various ways before he had passed out. Only to crudely shock him back awake, to have the process repeated over and over again.

Due to the circumstances surrounding his capture, it would have been unknown to Miguel how long he had been hanging upside down from the metal beam. His aching and bloody feet were tied by the ankles and held with a hook.

Standing by the half-opened door, I watched as Miguel slowly regained consciousness once more.

In his groggy state, he would not have been able to observe much through what was left of his only working eye, which was almost swollen shut.

However, he would be aware that he was inside of a brightly lit but empty warehouse. Even though he would be unsure of what time of the day it was, he might have assumed that it was night-time.

But who gives a fuck? He was going to be dead soon anyway, I thought to myself as my eyes narrowed.

My grin widened as Miguel slowly began to take in his surroundings. The Mexican man had been stripped naked, and his body had been beaten to a pulp. I had taken the liberty of slowly removing his right eye with my switch blade before slicing it up and forcing it down his throat.

Through the obvious pain he felt, I silently wondered if he could tell that both of his legs were broken. From the way he groaned and struggled to breathe, I knew he had realised that he had a more than a few broken ribs to say the least.

To be honest, I was impressed with his resolve. Although I supposed that like my own men, they preferred to gracefully endure whatever torture at the hands of their captors, rather than face the wrath of their leader.

I felt like it was time to make my entrance, so I pushed the door open wider, intentionally making it creak.

There were chunks of his skin missing from his chest and stomach and it seemed as though the memory of the torture he had endured came rushing back to him. With restricted panicked movements, I could hear his wheezing gasp as he heard the door opening behind him.

"Ah! You're finally awake!" I said with a smirk.

My footsteps along with those of a few others echoed on the concrete floor as we approached the Mexican.

Appearing in front of him, my blue eyes scanned over Miguel's battered body as I spoke once more, "I will be sure to tell García of your bravery.

Even after everything you have been put through, you still have not talked once, not even when I forced you to eat your own fingers."

Realisation seemed to click for Miguel as he whimpered and tried to look up at his left hand, now noticing that most of his fingers were missing. Only his pinkie finger remained, but barely as it had been sliced off up to the first knuckle.

"I'm truly impressed, although you did vomit back up your thumb," I commented, looking at the limp digit under the man's hanging body.

Making a clicking sound with my mouth, I had to briefly close my eyes to calm the bloodlust I felt coursing through my veins. Exhaling almost violently, I slowly paced back and forth in front of the body suspended

before me, a hand in the right pocket of my pants.

After Vincent had given me Jade's charm bracelet earlier, I had since cleaned it and kept it on me at all times. Since then, I had found myself occasionally reaching into my pocket to briefly touch the beads. Particularly the ones I had given her, finding that it calmed me somewhat.

I was doing my best to keep my anger in check.

The men who had been sent to follow the SUV that carried Jade had unfortunately lost sight of the vehicle after it had split up from the identical one that held Cristiano.

My emotions were all over the place and all I wanted to do was kill Miguel over and over again. I wanted to slowly peel the skin from his body and listen to him cry as he begged me to stop as I began to burn his flesh.

The thought of what Jade might be going through threatened to consume my every rational thought. With a haggard breath, I shook my head, clearing the tempting images from my mind.

"Out of respect for O'Doherty, I won't kill you. Since you cowardly shot his fiancée in the back, your death belongs to him," I sneered and walked off.

Once James had calmed down and was able to carry out a coherent conversation, he came to the warehouse. It was then I filled him in on everything that had transpired before telling him that Blaire had been pregnant.

This had caused the Irishman to scream out in agony. He had asked how long I knew, to which I had answered that Jade had only told me that same morning. I went on to explain that this had been the reason why I had allowed them to drive themselves instead of having them escorted as usual.

To be honest, I felt personally responsible and I vowed to find José and kill him.

I could not imagine the pain James was going through. Had it been Jade who was pregnant and dead, I would have lost my sanity right there and then.

Letting out a soft growl, I left Miguel in the hands of James who now stood in front of the Mexican with a crowbar while the other Irishmen looked on.

Vincent and some of my other men were waiting for me by their vehicles. "Any word?" I asked, doing my best to keep the panic from my voice.

Shaking his head, Vincent replied, "Not yet. Aleksandr and the others are supposed to call anytime now."

Jee-min stepped forward, apologising again, "I'm so sorry boss–" Raising a gloved hand, I silenced him and said, "There's no point in beating yourself up about it. What's done is done, I need you to get rid of your guilt and focus.

I need all my men alert and ready!" I paused as I looked up at the night sky then back at the Korean man, "Besides, it's Jade we're talking about. It was only a matter of time before she did something overly

reckless. We've trained her well, as proven by the video footage. The best thing we can do now is gather as much information as we can to find her before García kills her or worse..."

In that moment, my phone rang. It was Aleksandr, "Speak!" I answered.

"Some of Da'mon and Raeni's properties have just been hit by Brian and his men. We need backup!" the Russian quickly said.

"Fuck!" I yelled as I stalked towards my vehicle, "The bikers hit Leconte and Ms. Dixon, we need to split up and go help them."

This was the worst time for something like this to happen. I had to hand it to the Cartel boss, having the bikers attack now forced me and the others to divert our focus off of the kidnapped Jade.

Our numbers were already strained, not to mention James' head not being in the right frame of mind. Nonetheless, we scattered across the various parts of Aelbank City to deal with the Road Crows. Having superior weaponry, killing most of the bikers was easy enough, though a small few managed to

escape, Brian included.

It was dealing with the aftermath of the large fires we had caused that proved to be the most difficult to manage, and had taken up a lot of our time. Unfortunately, because of this, we were unable to follow the retreating bikers.

As much as I loved fire, I knew better than anyone about the catastrophic power it contained.

Fire had no allegiance, no pity, as it devoured whatever it pleased. Its only criteria were to consume and reduce things to ash. I had been transitorily enthralled as I watched the flames burn hot, short and violent, with no care of the destruction they would leave behind.

A sudden wave of blasts broke out, causing a great gush of flame to rise.

The sound of the explosion forced me out of my trance, obliging me to focus on the task at hand and not get lost in my obsession.

Thankfully, since we had previously added some extra security, we were able to contain the blaze on the various properties before it managed to consume everything. Even though we killed many of the bikers, myself and the others also suffered some casualties on our side.

The knowledge of this frustrated me, as I knew that we needed as many people as possible to go up against José.

With an irritated sigh, I sat on the hood of my car, my eyes watching the smoke of the dying fire rise to the sky. I kept my face expressionless, doing my best not to show any form of weakness.

Right now, I needed to be strong. I needed to keep my mind focused. It would not do me or my men any good if I lost control at this moment.

Jade's life depended on it.

"Don't worry, boss. We'll find her," Vincent said, as he walked up to the car.

"I can't believe Cristiano is the son of García! I knew I should have killed him that night when he had his first date with Jade," I grit my teeth at the thought.

Clearing his throat, my second in command dared to say, "From the video and witness accounts, it would seem that there is definitely more to the story as far as Cristiano is concerned."

"I don't give a fuck! If I ever lay eyes on him again, he's fucking dead!" my gloved palm slapped the hood of the car.

Deciding to change the topic, Vincent stated, "Da'mon told me that he found a few bikers from one of the rivalling gangs called The Blackhawks. They claim to have some information about Brian."

Jumping off the hood of the car, I said, "Then what are we waiting for, let's go!"

Frowning, Vincent warned, "It's going to cost us." "It doesn't matter, pay them whatever they want!" I ordered, my brows creasing.

"They don't want money; they want our guns. We'll need to supply them from our last shipment..." Vincent replied in a voice that indicated his displeasure of the proposal.

I hissed in annoyance as my blue eyes darkened, "These bikers have got some balls."

"What do you want to do, boss?" my second in command enquired.

Letting out a ragged breath, I said, "We have no choice but to give them what they want."

Vincent stiffened slightly, knowing that such ammunition in their hands would probably lead to more violence, as only the Calvetti mafia possessed such weaponry.

Growling softly as I ran a hand through my silvery white hair, I got into my car, "Once their information proves worthy, we'll give them the guns they asked for but load them with blanks, then have our men double back and kill them."

"On it!" Vincent said with a curt nod.

As I sat there silently, I remembered the brief conversation I had had with Jade while she was on the phone. Even after she had dropped it onto the floor, I had continued to listen, the sounds of gunfire startling me every time, as I hoped that she was not on the receiving end.

I had strained to listen to Jade's voice while immediately rallying some men and got into my car.

With every shot fired, I felt my heart stop. But as I heard her voice again, I let out a sigh of relief. It was such a strange feeling for me, as I tried to battle with these new sensations I was experiencing. Nonetheless, I kept listening until I could only hear indistinguishable sounds. I had silently hoped that Jade was alright as I drove as fast as I could towards her locationat the diner.

There was nothing I would not do to have her back safely in my arms.

I loved Jade with every fiber of my being. I loved everything about her, even the wildness she possessed.

Jade matched me perfectly, and had embraced my darkness when others ran from it. Not having her by my side was a slow and painful torture, and I could feel myself beginning to gradually unravel at the seams.

"I will find you, Jade, even if I have to trade my life for yours," I whispered while fingering the charm bracelet in my pocket.
