Chapter 24: Don't Catch A Fit

Two months later, my screams echoed across the football field. Our university had made it to the semi-finals of the nationwide playoffs and we were currently winning.

With a big smile on my face, I sat next to Blaire in the bleachers as we watched and cheered for our school's football team. Cristiano, as usual, was the star of the night, having thrown three touchdown passes.

"So, have you decided if you're going to break up with Cristiano yet?" Blaire asked a bit too loudly for my liking. "Shh, keep your voice down!" I scolded.

Doing as she was told, she brought her mouth closer to my ear, so that her words would be heard clearer over the loud, joyful screams of the crowd.

"Well, have you?" Blaire questioned again before adding, "You guys have already crossed the six-month mark, the longer you wait the harder it will get."

Shaking my head, I replied, "No, I haven't decided yet and yes I know, I know! I'm just so torn about what to do. I mean, on the one hand, I really really like Cristiano and I do love him as a person, not to mention the friendship that we've built is pretty amazing."

"I can't deny that Cristiano is a pretty great friend, we make a pretty good trio," she said with a grin.

Pursing my lips, I continued, "On the other hand, I know that I'm already in love with Dominic but I don't want to jeopardize our friendship either, especially as things between us have been more or less back to normal lately."

"Well it's obvious that your feelings for Cristiano are more in the puppy-dog sphere kind of love. Whereas what you feel for Dominic is more like a big dog type of love, a more true and intense feeling!" Blaire gave me a wicked smile as she added, "I'd tell you what I would do, but I know that you already know that answer." Chuckling softly, I shook my head, "No, Blaire. I cannot be with the both of them, I need to choose one." "That's the thing though, Jade, you've already chosen. It's Dominic and always has been," my best friend stated plainly.

"Yea, but Dom told me it would be better for me to find someone else, and it seems like I did, but it's all so confusing..." I replied thoughtfully.

"First of all, Dominic was an ass for telling you that!" Blaire huffed slightly as she frowned and continued, "Because now you've gone and developed feelings for someone else, leaving you torn between two men! I get that you like Cristiano a lot and you want to remain loyal to him, but your mind and body clearly crave another more. I mean hello, you and Dominic were all but dry humping in the kitchen a few weeks ago!"

My cheeks flamed at the memory of that night. I remember the way he grunted and narrowed his eyes at me when I told him that his heart was beating fast. You would have sworn that his reaction to me was some kind of torture.

As though acknowledging his attraction for me was some sort of gruelling, piercing feat. Then again, given the type of man Dominic was, I suppose that it would be.

I mean, how fair was this shit? I had never had romantic feelings for anyone before. In fact, I was convinced that I was incapable of feeling such things.

Then all of a sudden bam, out of nowhere I find myself attracted to not one but two amazing men.

How was this even possible?

Pushing my thoughts away, I grumbled, "Ugh! Don't remind me! Why is dating so hard? Why did I take your stupid advice and ask Cristiano out?"

Giving me a wink, Blaire replied, "Because you were desperate." "Why you..." I muttered with a laugh as I began to tickle my her mercilessly.

When we heard the final whistle blow, I looked down at the field.

Cristiano's gaze was on me as he pressed and tapped two of his fingers over his heart. He then moved the index and middle finger towards his lips then blew me a kiss. Cristiano repeatedly did this and I could not help but smile, he was such a sweetie.

Many girls within the crowd erupted in excited screams at the romantic gesture.

Cristiano was so handsome in his football gear, and as he took off his helmet it was hard not to admire how amazing he looked. Blaire and I laughed as we watched his teammates tug and playfully drag him off the

field.

"Alright game's done, let's go find your suits!" Blaire said as she began looking around to see if she could see Jee-min and the other bodyguards.

"The quicker we find them, the faster we can head over to the pizzeria to celebrate before we head back to my house to change for James' birthday bash," she added with a smile.

"Did you end up deciding on which gift to buy?" I asked as we stood.

"Does pussy count?" she replied cheekily.

Rolling my eyes, I scolded, "No Blaire, we've been over this, pussy does not count as a gift! You're giving it to him almost every day, what's different about it on his birthday?"

"He can have it however he likes," she winked.

Gagging playfully, "Ew, and double ew," I said while continuing to make choking sounds.

"Uh huh, this coming from the girl that would let Dominic tie her up and do as he pleases?" Blaire countered with a raised eyebrow.

"Dom is different! Besides, it's hard for me to picture my best friend with a man who I consider to be like an uncle," I complained as we walked away from the pews.

"Fair enough, but in terms of getting James a present, what can I say? He already has me, so what more could he want?" Blaire stated with a frisky grin.

Shaking my head at her once more, all I could say was, "Wow..."

We continued to look for Jee-min and the others who had been dispersed inconspicuously among the large crowd of people.

"It's nice that they're not as in your face anymore when you're out with your friends, but it still amazes me how they can hide in plain sight. I mean they're wearing all black for crying out loud!" Blaire chortled.

Shrugging slightly as I played with my purple ponytail, I responded, "It's clearly a special skill of theirs. Let's just head to the parking lot, trust me, they'll find us, they always do."

"Too true!" she commented then continued, "I just love riling up Jee-min though, Gods he's so sexy, especially when he's pissed!"

Raising an eyebrow, I warned, "Don't even bother, you're never going to get inside his pants, ever."

"A girl can dream," Blaire said with a large grin.

While walking back to the parking lot, my mobile phone vibrated. Taking it out of my pocket, I looked down at the screen and saw that it was a message from Dominic. I could not help the big smile that suddenly appeared across my face.

Dominic:

"Why didn't you wait for Jee-min to walk you guys to the carpark?"

I laughed out at the incredulousness of his message, then nudged Blaire to show her the screen of my phone while my fingers moved quickly to reply.

Jade:

"Well the fact that you know I'm walking back

to the carpark means that I'm safe and protected no?"

Dominic:

"How many times do I have to tell you not to wander off!"

Jade:

"A few more? 😅 "

Dominic:

"Jade..."

Jade:

"Alright daddy dearest...

Don't catch a fit, sheesh!"

Dominic:

"What did I tell you about calling me that?"

Jade:“..."
