Chapter 13
A long week of studying went by, where I tried to cope with more work than I could imagine, as there was always that time of the break when I was swamped with work and didn't seem to have time to have a social life, but I was able to cope with it and was leaving the university almost at dusk.
My cell phone rang.
A Freeze?
Lucas <3
I rolled my eyes. It was already Friday and my friend already wanted to lose his mind, even though we hadn't had a good week. We couldn't spend too much time together because of the crazy psycho thing and he wasn't doing so well to say the least in some subjects, why he wasn't understanding what we were doing.
I always told him that he should pay more attention to his studies than to men and frustrated relationships.
I can't, I have to take care of my grandfather.
Amy
How about an ice cream no more?
Lucas <3
Plis.
Lucas <3
I rolled my eyes.
Okay, just one ice cream and no more.
Amy
SIl, I love you!
Lucas <3
I imagined him screaming like a madman and couldn't help but smile, but then as if it was part of some kind of joke, I bumped into someone again and almost dropped my cell phone.
"Amy?", I heard the voice of someone I remembered and tried not to grimace. Her outlined smile as I straightened my clothes made me somewhat uneasy.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to," I said, but then I noticed there were four men behind him watching the grim scene and I couldn't help but feel like I was under a spotlight.
I panicked.
I hated attention and more so if they were male.
"Don't worry, I've gotten used to it," he licked his lips and for some reason I noticed it almost as if I had been called. I realized I had seen too much of him and sat up.
"Yeah, well...,"
"Going somewhere," he interrupted me and I fixed him firmly, curious of his interest.
"Yeah, I was going for ice cream with my best friend," I replied and looked sideways at his classmates, I imagined. They were particularly intrigued that he had pulled them aside to talk to me.
"Are you talking about the one who took you when we first met," he pointed back, as if trying to tell the past.
"Yes, that one," I crossed my arms and as if I had summoned the demon, the aforementioned one appeared in my field of vision.
When he saw me, he waved frantically with his arm and a big smile, but then noticed I was with people neither of us knew.
I gave him a signal to wait and began to think somewhat self-absorbed.
My friend Lucas had told me so many times to let myself go just a little bit and start having a social life.
<"Fate made them bump into each other for a reason.">
I rolled my eyes at the words I remembered from him and decided to venture even a little bit, no one could lose at the heights of the life I was leading.
It probably wouldn't be so terrible if I didn't let it matter too much to me.
"Can we tag along," he asked and I looked at Lucas again, as if trying to tell him with my eyes to save me from having to hang out with strangers, but he seemed to notice something was up and like any best friend at odds with your wishes, he didn't intervene.
I was sure he wanted me to hook up with someone, to stop being boring and get back to my wanderings, but that wasn't the idea. I wasn't at a time to go crazy and lose track of time.
I saw the brown eyes of the man in front of me and nodded, defeated. I didn't know how to say no nicely.
"Yeah, actually, he's not waiting over there," I pointed to the brunet and he gave a somewhat feminine nod towards Kyllian; he smiled in my direction after noticing it and I sighed.
She was a hungry, but strong-willed woman.
"Then let's go," she encouraged and the five of us walked towards Lucas, who looked overly intrigued. He no longer had that shy look on his face like when we were with Matt, it was different, darker and somewhat excited.
Maybe he had taken a liking to one of the men next to us, whose names he didn't know yet, but surely he would never see them again.
Two of them said their goodbyes, as they had a class pending and there was a pair of twins left; their names were Tom and Tomas. Both ended up calling each other the same name. Sometimes they called them both Tom.
It was incredibly unnecessary for their parents to call them that, as if they thought they were going to be a copy of each other, but for the few minutes I had been seeing them, one of them didn't talk much and had a lascivious look, unlike his brother Tom, who didn't stop talking. He looked like a radio and was smiling, unlike the other.
Both had reddish hair and were a little taller than Kyllian, but it was hardly noticeable.
"Over there is the ice cream parlor," Lucas said, pointing to the place and hurried to be at my height.
Kyllian hadn't left my side since we started walking away from the university, so he clearly saw my friend's signal ate he had to walk away now like that.
The brunet waited until he was about two meters away from them and put his arm around me.
"Amy," he looked at me with wide eyes.
"What?"
"Don't bullshit me, Amy. Notice how he's looking at you," he asked in a low whisper, as he tried not to speak too loudly and for them to suddenly hear, "He looks like he sees a little animal looking for alpha male," he shook me and shouted, which got their attention.
"What are you saying, of course he doesn't look at me like that," I nudged him to stop imagining things.
"Amy, you have to realize, not a girl," he said indignantly, "All the men who see you, always do it as if they want to dominate you. It's horribly exciting," he shook me again like a maniac and this time I pushed him back harder, "You have to reveal your secret to me, now."
I rolled my eyes, "Just look at them the way they want you to see them; like they have total control over you," I winked at him and he remained with his lips half open.
"And how do I do that, I try and I look like I'm asking for psychiatric help," he snorted, "You always dominate me with that look and I like men too," he pursed his lips.
"I guess it just comes naturally to me."
"And you're not so pretty either," he grimaced and I gave him a smack.
"She's beautiful," someone else replied and my friend didn't stop looking at me after listening to Kyllian.
He had already approached us and I had no idea how much I had heard, why I hadn't paid attention to them afterwards.
I licked my lips to hide a smile and Lucas left me with a meaningful look before going to find the table where we wouldn't feel.
"Is that how you flirt with girls," I asked curiously, as I entered the place with him.
"That's how I do it with you," I rolled my eyes with a smile and he invited me into the place by opening the door for me, however, I glared at him as he placed his hand on my lower back and he also seemed to notice something had happened after he did that.
His pupils dilated and became darker than they already were, which gave me an immediate hint of my best friend's theory.
If he looked at me like he wanted from me.
Dominate me?
That was impossible, if I managed his senses with mine, but I could give him the impression that he did.
It was more fun that way.
We sat with the others, having Lucas and him next to me. We were both closer together, since that was the idea.
What if I let myself go?
Why precisely had I felt that way with him?
I leaned back against the table, trying to pay attention to the conversation my friend was having with the twins about the different careers they had, but I felt Kyllian's arm brush innocently around my waist and he moved his torso discreetly closer to my back.
I watched him out of the corner of my eye and bit my lips.
It was clear that this was something we both wanted.
