Chapter 11: When desire takes over
**SOPHIE MADSON’S POV**
When I finally stamp the last page, I roll my eyes and lean back in the chair, feeling exhausted. I can't distinguish what I feel more intensely, the excessive fatigue or anger towards Steven.
I glance at my wristwatch for the thousandth time, and it's already late. I exerted myself to the maximum for that idiot to realize that I wouldn't allow him to criticize me or, at the very least, call me incapable for not being able to complete the task. But they were all stamped.
I observe the elevator open, and the building's security guard approaches me quickly.
“Miss, I need to close the building,” he informs.
“ Okay, I'm leaving.”
I gather my belongings in my bag, hurried and anxious to leave quickly. Putting all my belongings in the bag, I leave the building in a hurry. It was extraordinary to be inside that empty building when the norm was people constantly circulating, and the sound of my heels echoed in the rooms.
When I passed the door, I noticed it was starting to rain. I forgot to bring an umbrella and rolled my eyes, irritated by the city's inconsistent weather. I looked around and realized that staying there wouldn't get me a taxi, especially since my new address is Steven's house, which became distant from the company.
I ran to the sidewalk and started walking, offering my hand to some taxis, but they were either with passengers or not working. At this moment, the situation worsened, and the rain intensified. Luckily, my bag is leather and won't wet my belongings, but I can't say the same about myself, who is getting soaked.
The water drips from my face, and I can hardly see anything in front of me due to so many substantial drops on my face. I notice a luxurious car stopping next to me, but I don't pay attention, continuing to walk hastily. What I found strange was noticing that the car was following me at a slow speed.
“Sophie... hey!” the familiar voice shouts.
Steven is driving the car and lowers the window to see that it's him driving. My anger increases when I remember the cause of all this, and I don't stop my steps.
"Get in; I'll take you home; it's freezing!"
“I don't want to, thank you!”
I reply, continuing to walk even faster. I preferred to keep walking in the rain rather than let him give me a ride after what he did in the office. But he wasn't satisfied with my answer and kept following me.
“You'll get sick, Sophie, don't be stubborn.” he insists.
I ignore his attempts again, but when I see a bolt of lightning brighten the whole place, followed by a clap of thunder. I run to the car and open the door hastily, sitting soaking wet in the car seat. I have a fear of thunder and lightning.
“I'll accept because it's raining a lot; otherwise, I wouldn't accept.”
"Alright!"
I affirm so he doesn't feel like the winner, even though I see in his smile that he feels that way.
It's very cold, so cold that I'm shaking. Even with the car's heater on, I can't control myself, chattering my teeth intensely. The clothes were completely wet, which intensified the already low temperature. Steven removes his suit and puts it over me to alleviate the cold, but it doesn't have much effect because of the wet clothes and the winter temperature in the city, making it worse.
Suddenly, he turns a corner, and I find the route he's following strange, as it's the opposite of the way to his house.
“Where are we going?” I ask, confused.
“To a hotel,” he replies coldly.
“But…” I try to assert that I don't want this, but he interrupts me.
“Do you want to get sick? Look at the conditions you're in and the distance to get home!” he looks at the street, trying to see something.” Besides, I can't see anything; it's too foggy.
I could try to intervene, but my muscles stiffen from feeling cold. I must remove these clothes and warm up as soon as possible.
He enters the hotel's parking lot, and we walk quickly to the reception. I hug my own body while I watch Steven request a room. With all the money he has, they will always be luxurious suites.
At that moment, I began to think that he cared about me, and I was touched by his sensitive gesture.
We enter the hotel room, and I look around, observing the place's refinement. Steven has good taste and a lot of money in his account, of course.
“A hot bath will do you good.”
He suggests and places a briefcase on the table, which he has been holding since he got out of the car. I go to the bathroom and close the door. Under the shower, I stay still, letting the water flow down my body at a warm and delightful temperature, warming me up and bringing me back to normal. I had shivered all the way, and only now was I feeling well.
I look at the bathroom door, trying to imagine what he would be doing outside, and bite my lower lip. Steven is being kind this time, and maintaining a good relationship may be good for us.
When I finish the shower, I need to wear something that is not soaked, like my clothes. I put on the robe, which was folded on the furniture. I hear knocks on the door and get startled by the noise, but I open the bathroom door for him, who is there holding some clothes and extends his hand to hand them to me.
“What is this?” I ask, confused.
“I have some emergency clothes in the car; of course, they won't fit you, but they will help.”
"Thank you, Steven!"
He steps forward to hand me all the clothing but slips suddenly. I try to help, but we end up falling to the floor. Luckily, I fell on him, which cushioned the impact a bit; I just couldn't say the same about him.
I looked at his face a few centimeters from mine, and he grimaced.
“Damn!”
"Are you okay? Did you get hurt?"
I looked worried; our faces were so close to each other. My body was on top of his, leaning on his muscular chest, but I couldn't help it; I laughed a lot at the situation. He looked at me, completely confused, but he didn't hold back and laughed. The situation became so funny that I burst into laughter, trying to control myself. Our eyes are fixed on each other; the laughter begins to cease, and the relaxed atmosphere disappears, giving way to an intense and attractive atmosphere.
Our lips are so close that I can't contain myself, kissing each other intensely. We fit our lips as if we needed this kiss. The tongue slides, and I feel Steven's delicious taste.
Steven's hand passes through my body; it seems to want to feel every inch of it. We rub our bodies; my knees are around him, supported on the floor, and I can feel the erection rubbing against my intimate parts, teasing me even more.
His hands go to my robe, and he sits down, making me sit on his lap. When he unties the robe, my breasts are exposed; he squeezes, massaging and looking at me with desire.
"Do you want it? Say yes!" He whispers.
"I..."
I'm interrupted by the loud ringtone of his cell phone. We snap out of the trance, panting and startled. He ran his hand over his pants pocket, looking for the cell phone that was ringing insistently. He looks at me again; I notice Steven is upset and confused.
"Just a moment," he informs.
"Okay..."
I reply, even though I have no idea what happened—taken by impulse.
Steven looks at the phone in his hand, and at that moment, his expression completely changes, furrowing his eyebrows and smiling. His eyes were fixed on the screen, and I didn't even have time to take a look; he touched my waist, pushing me away from his body in a hurry, and I left clumsily. He left the bathroom so quickly that I couldn't even keep up.
