Chapter 22: Chapter:22
**Dimitri's POV**
"We would certainly need to talk about expansion in the next meeting aswell. With all the investors on board, we could have the designs for the new building in two weeks." Aaron, the contractor who has worked on most of my buildings says just as everybody is getting out of their seats.
"How long do you think it would take to start construction after that?" I ask as we exit the conference room. I look at my watch and it's only been ten minutes since I left Taylor in my office.
"One week to start. You would just need to sign off on the materials and I'd have my guys ready for work." He says and I nod. "Okay. Get someone to help you with drawing up a pitch for the investors meeting in two weeks. I'm going to be out of office from this Wednesday to next week Friday so you will be working closely with Tanner during my absence.Anything you need, ask him. I will only be contacted in case of emergancies." I tell him and he nods writing stuff down in his little book.
I can hear commotion as we near the bullpen and I look at Aaron. "What the hell is going on?" I ask and he shrugs. Once we turn the corner, I spot Taylor, her friend Maggie and a brunette going back and forth.
"What is going on in here?" I ask, my voice stern and loud. They all go quiet and I see Taylor lower her head slightly. "Dimitri, this girl is spewing lies that you and her are getting married." The brunette speaks and I furrow my brows in confusion. "Dimitri? I'm not aware of the fact that you and I are best of pals for you to be calling me by my first name. You address me with respect or you get the hell out!" I yell as I feel my anger bubbling over. The girl steps back looking puzzled.
I can see Taylor flinch out of the corner of my eye and my heart immediately softens. I walk over to her and softly grab her hand. "Are you okay, baby?" I ask and she looks up with red cheeks. She nods before looking over at the brunette.
"Baby?! Why are you calling her baby? I thought you liked me." The girl snears and I look at her with confusion. "What are you talking about?" I ask genuinely not knowing what she's talking about.
"You said that I was doing a good job and that I was making you proud." He says and my heart breaks as she looks a little broken andd embarrassed. "What's your name?" I ask and she looks extremely offended by my question. "It's Vanessa." She answers with a scoff.
"Well Vanessa, I was simply giving you a compliment on a job well done. I don't know how you got to me liking you but I can assure you that I harbour no romantic feels for you." I tell her in the nicest way possible.
She stares at me for a second and I swear I can see her eye twitch before she suddenly lunges at Taylor and I but I move us out of the way quickly enough. She falls onto the floor and starts screaming like a crazy person and I look around to see everybody with the same shocked expression on their faces.
"Somebody call security." I say and Tanner picks up the phone. I get my phone out and text Eddie to come pick Taylor up. Seconds later, the two guards come running in and they subdue her as she continues to scream profanity at Taylor and I.
"Let's get you out of here." I tell Taylor and she nods before grabbing her purse and phone. "Tanner call an ambulance aswell. Everybody, get your personal items and leave the office building." I tell them and everybody starts gathering their stuff.
"I've texted Eddie to come and get you 'cause I can't leave now. He will drop you off at my place. You can't miss your fitting and this is probably going to take a few hours to sort out." I tell her and she nods with tears in her eyes.
"Hey, what's wrong?" I ask and shakes her head. "It's my fault. I provoked her." She says and I shake my head. "I don't think anything you could've said should've made her react that way." I tell her rubbing her arms up and down.
"But I did. She said she had you first and I just got so mad that told her that she wasn't good enough because I am the one you're getting married to." She tells me all in one breathe and I sigh.
"Hey, it's not your fault. You may have went about it the wrong way but that girl has issues and it's evident." I reassure her and she takes a deep breath before wiping the tears away.
"It's going to be okay." I tell her and she nods again. We walk to the front of the builing and Eddie is already waiting for her.
"I'll let you know how everything goes. Go home, see your dress and send me a picture." I tell her with a small smile and she sniffles. "You're not allowed to see my dress just yet." She says and I let out a small chuckle.
"Practising for the wedding already. Love the enthusiam." I joke and she playfully roles her eyes. "I'll see you when I get home." I tell her before pecking her lips causing her to blush.
"Only a matter of time before you say the 'L' word." She teases and I let out a loud laugh. She gets into the car and I close the door. Once they drive off, the ambulance pulls up and I wait for the paramedics to get out.
"We got a call about a woman in distress." The lady says and I nod. "Yes, that was us. She's inside." I say and have them follow me to where Vanessa is.
She is still lashing out when we enter the bullpen and I sigh as she hurls insults at me. "Can you tells us what happened." The guy asks me.
"She had the idea that I liked her romantically implanted in her head and when she found out that I am getting marrie and don't like her, she tried to attack my fiance and I." I tell them and they nod. I stan back and watch as they do there job with her and she seems to calm down after they give her something.
"We'll be taking her to the hospital now, Mr. Alfonso." The lady lets me know and I nod. Good, now I can go spend time with my girl.
Seeing her so distraught over some mentally unstable girl really angered me. I just want to leave this place and go home so I can hold her tight.
I finish the last of my responsibility on this crazy day before instructing security to lock the place up.
I walk to my car and get in after unlocking it. My phone digs and it's a message from Taylor asking how everything is going. I tell her that it has been sorted out before starting the car and driving to the store.
I want to get her a few things to cheer her up and I really hope it works.
