Their Words

Daisy

I wake up with the sun bright. Groaning I cover my face to hide from it and hear Cal chuckle.

“The downside, while at night it is dark, and only the stars can be seen. It’s beautiful and peaceful, but mornings, well as soon as the son wakes up you have to.” He pulls me to him.

“Thank you, Cal.” I kiss him and cuddle closer. He’s right, it’s far too early but it’s too bright now the sun is up. “So, what is the plan for today?” The last few days have been weird, and I have found myself missing them, I see one of them and then I don’t see them for two days. It feels weird.

“Home, and live our life.”

“You say that like it is simple Cal.”

“It is, we have each other. That is all that matters puddin. Me, you and them. Come on, let’s go.” He gets up and drags me up with him, leaving me with no choice but to listen. I don’t mind though. I missed D, it’s been two days since I saw him.

It feels weird, it's been one day since I saw Mac but even that it feels wrong. I stay quiet as he drives us back, my eyes on the rings the whole way there. I know they want to marry me but I can’t see how this will work. How it can ever work?

I saw Emmi, she looked amazing and she has four husbands. Or I think, I don’t know I’m just assuming she married all four of them. I've not spoken to her. We walk into the house and the food is on the table, Marc and D are sitting and laughing between themselves as we walk in.

D looks up and rushes to me, wrapping his arms around me as I tangle my body around his.

“I missed you little birdie, weirdly, you not being here made it less like home.”

“Weirdly enough, I missed you to daddy.” I grin at him and he grabs my ass, he carries me to the table refusing to let me sit in my own seat and eat.

“D, let her sit and eat, it’s ten minutes then you can hold her all day if you want.” Cal looks at him.

“Fine, but then you’re all mine.” He winks and I laugh as he plonks me onto a chair, and I decide before they start this conversation that I can sense, I need to speak first.

“Thank you, for the last three days. They were amazing, but as D said, they were weird because I was missing you all. So maybe never again if less you have to leave for work?” I look between them and they nod.

“Agreed cub, now, let’s address some of your worries.” Marc sits forward and suddenly I’m no longer hungry.

“Eat please puddin.” Cal looks at me and I nod, slowly nibbling on the food.

“Okay, so you can marry us all, two won’t be legal, but it’s not like anyone is going to come and arrest you. So don’t worry about marrying us, or how that works. Even if it wasn’t legitimate, we would still see it as we were married.” Marc explains and I nod.

“So, does that ease your worries about which one of us you will marry?” Cal looks at me waiting for an answer.

“Yes, it does.”

“Okay, what other issues were there cub?”

I think about Marc's question. “How it works, if I did have kids, how does that work?” I don’t want them to not know which one the dad is, or feel pushed out.

“Look, we’re living together little birdie, so regardless of who the dad is we all will act as the dad. We don’t plan it, we don’t try and make sure only one of us gets you pregnant. If it happens, it happens. If you end up having five kids and they are all to Cal, so what, they are still our children as well.”

I laugh at the five kids. “You’re fucking crazy.”

“Is that a no to five? That was me going down, just so you realise.” Cal and Marc laugh at D.

“D, for now, let’s stick to one. Please, five is a big leap.” Five fucking kids? Maybe I should have said none. Then maybe the number would be lower?

“As D said cub, we will all be the dads and watch them. We will all bring them up, I wouldn’t treat the child any different to my own.” I nod to Marc’s words.

“What is next, what else is worrying you going forward puddin?”

“I don’t think there is anything else, to be honest. Just I don’t know.” I feel like running, I won’t, but that does remind me I need to speak to D later.

“We all accepted we love you puddin, we all accepted no matter what we want you. D is right, this place doesn’t feel like home without you. It feels empty, so how about this?” I look at Cal wondering what he is going to suggest. “We move into the new house in a couple of weeks. Give ourselves a couple of months to get settled. Then, we get married. Maybe a house that’s yours from the start will help?”

“Okay.” I nod even though I am ready to run.

“Right, well we were going to do something nice today but the last three days have made you tired, so a lazy day cub. We will stay here with you all day, watching shitty movies.” Marc leans forward and kisses me. “Get something comfortable on, then get sat in the cinema room.”

I nod and walk off hearing their hushed whispers behind me. No doubt worrying that I am going to run, but I won’t. Seeing that look on D’s face the other night has made me realise I can’t run ever again.

Getting changed I decide to wear a chemise, more so it teases them at the same time.
