Chapter 12: Twelve.

Colt stopped laughing suddenly, recognising the mischief in her friend's eyes, as they landed on the still running hose. Her eyes darted to the tap as she judged the distance, knowing she wouldn't be able to out wrestle the lion and hoping to kill the water flow instead. But, she hesitated a bit too long. Colt shrieked as a soaked Felix barrelled into her, tackling her to the ground with a thud.

Felix reached out with his right had as Colt squirmed beneath him, desperately trying to avoid what was coming. He grabbed the hose end and without hesitation thrust it up her jumper, as her squeals almost defended him.

The cold water washed over her, sending her muscles into an instant spasm, as it spread across her abdomen and soaked into her clothes.

"Felix, you asshole!" Colt cried out, "Get off me!" She begged, tears streaming down her face.

"Nah, Kitten. I always loved feeling you squirm beneath me. Don't you remember?" He teased her, laughing at her discomfort as the cold water he had already adjusted to, thoroughly covered her as well, leaving them lying in a freezing puddle.

"Don't make me hurt you, Pussy Cat." Colt threatened, a slight edge to her voice, as her own body finally started to adjust.

"Nah, you won't do that. In fact, I think you missed me." Felix coaxed pulling the hose out and holding it upwards to face the sky above them, yet still spraying the water down on their now soaked bodies. "Besides, it is my humble opinion, that you owe me!"

Colt looked at him, scrutinizing his face before responding, "Sorry, I don't keep any laser pens handy, Pussy Cat. You will have to find your thrills else where. Now get your heavy ass off me..."

Suddenly, Felix was gone, his weight lifted completely off of her, before she could blink. Unfortunately, it wasn't of his own volition. Colt followed the path Felix had taken to see the one and only, Angus Bruce, as he was about to smack his fist into one of her closest friend's face.

Before Colt could stop herself, her protective instincts took over. Her body erupted into a sleek black haired wolf and she barrelled, teeth barred into Angus, locking her jaws around his lower arm and dragging him backwards by it, savouring the coppery taste of his blood when it filled her mouth. Had it been anyone of her other so called suitors, and she may have been able to rein herself back, but after last Friday night, her hatred for Angus ran deep, and all she could see was red.

His surprised scream only fuelled her on, and she found herself squeezing her jaws tighter, clamping them down as she shook her head from side to side, tearing at his skin, until she felt the bone beneath his muscle beginning to crack.

"Colt! Stop!" Felix's voice penetrated through her rage, causing her jaw to loosen a fraction.

Colt felt her friend's hands on her shoulders as Angus forced himself to shift, his arm shrinking before it disappeared altogether, slipping out of her mouth limply. She staggered back, in Felix's hold allowing him to pull her away suprised at the level of her own outburst, yet still continuing to snarl at Angus. Who was backing away in his own direction, his front paw healed somewhat from the shift, but remaining tender.

Felix kept talking to Colt trying to calm her down, all while pulling her back and away from the other shifter. He could feel how rigid her body was, how intensely coiled her muscles were, as her eyes zeroed in on the wildcat who was now shifting back to his human form, which in Felix's opinion made the man a monumental idiot. He had to grab Colt tighter, adding slight pressure with his own extended claws, to stop her as she tried to lunge for Angus again, teeth gnashing as she snarled. Evidently, this man was not liked.

"Kitten, calm down," he tried to soothe her.

"Kitten?" Angus smirked, seeing how it fuelled Colt's anger further. "You are a complete and utter whore, aren't you?" He scoffed at the wolf

"I overlooked your dog's mark and mongrel blood, out of respect for your family, Colt. But a lion as well?" He clapped his hands slowly. "You sure get around. Fitting really, with the name of a horse, since you're apparently giving rides to every tom cat and more in the Highlands," he sneered venomously.

Felix's gripped slipped deliberately, and Colt made a lunge for Angus, who instantly fell back his bravery washed clean off his face in panic, as the faint smell of urine began to seep into the air. Luckily for Angus, Felix managed to grab a hold of Colt's back again, before she got close enough to make contact. Though with the way the man spoke, Felix was beginning to weigh up whether Colt's regret later, was in fact, enough of a reason to hold her back.

"Leave," Felix ordered him his patience finally evaporating.

Angus, feeling arrogant again, now that Colt was restrained stood and challenged Felix, "I think you will find as she is my fiancé, that it is you who will be leaving." He sneered back.

Felix couldn't help it, he snorted. The laughter rumbling up so suddenly, it came bursting out of his nose. "You?" He managed, to say accusingly as Colt continued to thrash in his arms, desperate to reach her prey, and remove his ignorant face for him.

"You are deluded," Felix roared, "Utterly deluded, if you seriously think she would have anything to do with you. You really need some mental health counselling or something! You're pathetic. I can smell the piss on you from here. You're not even a man, Fuck off home, little boy!"

"Take your hands off my female!" Angus hissed, enraged.

"I could, but then I'd need to know where to send your remains, and that means touching you, and your covered in your own piss. So, I'd rather not." Felix laughed back, at Angus' obvious expense.

Angus hesitated for a second as he looked at the rage in Colt's eyes, but still his ego was too wounded to let him to just walk away. First she humiliated him at the Ceilidh, then every male in the country was sniffing around her, and now he found her rolling on the floor with a fucking lion!

In his anger he looked at Colt. "Shift!" He demanded of her. "Now, or so help me I will buy a lead and a muzzle, you ungrateful bitch!"

Felix was struggling to hold her, mostly now because he was having to contain his own rage, and his desire to shift before ripping the man to shreds. But before he could respond another voice chimed in.

"Just let her go! The fucking wanker deserves it. He always has been a weasel, in a wildcats body. Completely useless in every way, some might even say impotent, isn't that right Angus?"

Felix looked down the road to see a blonde man and black haired man sitting back comfortably on their bikes watching the show. It was a testament as to how focused the three others were on each other, that they didn't hear them approach on their bikes.

"Get him out of here," Felix yelled.

"Love to," the black haired chap responded, getting off his bike and making his way towards Angus, his face lighting up with a devious smile.

"Logan, this has nothing to do with you! Get Lost," Angus yelled, shrinking slightly at the sight of Logan and Alasdair.

"I have just as much of a claim as you to press, and as I see it," Logan responded. "You are pissing off the potential mother of my Kits. I cana have that now, can I?" He kept progressing towards the other man, fists clenched and ready to strike.

Angus looked at Colt again, full of bitterness, before his body rippled and exploded into his cat form. He shot through the fields, and up into the tree line beyond.

"The mother of your what?" Felix blurted, now completely baffled but still on edge. "Fucking hell, Colt no wonder Maeve called, and told me to get my ass over here. What the fuck have you gotten yourself into?" He asked the she-wolf, who was barely calming down in his arms.

Colt shrugged Felix off, and walked towards her house door, stopping to snarl at the two Scotsmen who tried to follow.

"Thanks for the help, but I'm guessing, you two aren't anymore welcome than that bastard was," Felix retorted, blocking their path.

"I just want to know if she is alright?" Logan tried diplomatically.

"I don't give a shit what you want," Felix snarled. "She evidently doesn't either," he added, nodding in the direction of the door Colt slipped through.

Logan stepped forward challenging Felix, before Alasdair put his hand on his shoulder to calm him.

"Mate, wind your neck in," Alasdair chided. "You ain't fucking out matching a lion. Get a grip. Plus, I doubt Colt would like it if you tried," he said.

Logan sighed and silently turned, stomping back to his bike, leaving Alasdair awkwardly standing with Felix as he drove away.

"Well, we have been having not bad weather, for the time of year," Alasdair ventured, to break the silence.

Felix's face was deadpan.

"Are you planning on impergnating my friend as well?" He growled out, his jaw grinding together.

Alasdair raised both hands in surrender, "Bloody hell, no!" He said flustered. "I have enough issues with my own true mate, without throwing in another female."

Felix seemed placated with this answer, and nodded gruffly at the blonde man before turning to walk into the house after Colt. It was time for some answers.
