Chapter 57

Zade

I watched Alexa as she laid still in my arms, enjoying her sleep and even though she had fallers asleep long ago, I was still running my hands through her hair.

I could not just get enough of her.

Her sleeping face was beautiful and I deemed myself lucky because this is the face I was going to be waking up to every morning and seeing for the rest of my life.

I was more than happy to finally see her open with me and showing me love, it is all I have ever wanted and I was already getting it.

Only thing that remained was us completing the mating process and getting rid of this curse so we could grow old together forever in love.

I had booked the best hotel in her hometown and it was going to be a surprise for her.

I wanted her to feel very comfortable and happy while we visited even if I still had my doubt.

‘I hope she sees no reason to leave me’ I thought to myself but immediately pushed the thought aside. She had reassured me and I was not going to doubt but I would hold on to her words.

Her hometown was pretty far and I was already getting car sick, this is why I didn’t want to go but she seemed so happy and I would do anything for her.

We spent more than three hours on the road and not in that time did she stir from her sleep, she was sleeping so peacefully and I wondered if she could that much peace in my arms.

We finally got to our destination, as we entered into the town, I could not help but feel tense maybe because of the atmosphere or something but I could not quite place my fingers around it.

Leo drove ahead and to the hotel we would be staying in, we were already in the evening and I could not just wait to get out of this car and into the bed.

Once we got to the hotel, I shook Alexa gently to wake her up.

“Alexa,” I called out to her but she didn’t seem to budge. “Baby, we are here,” I say to her yet again but she only stirred a bit more but didn’t stand up.

I shook her body to wake her and that seemed to do the trick.

“Where are we?” She asked as she rubbed her eyes with her hands looking very confused.

“We are at our destination,” I replied and she just grew more confused, I could tell from the look on her face.

“We are?” She questioned and I nodded. “But I was only asleep for a while, how can we be there already?” She asked again still confused and I let out a small laugh.

“I am serious, look outside. We are at your hometown,” I replied gesturing for her to look out the window.

She lifted her head off my legs and turned towards the window and saw that we were in fact not moving and the scenery had changed. “How long was u asleep for?” She asked and used and I smiled at her.

“A very long time,” I replied her amusingly.

“But wait,” she said. “Where are we?” She questioned pausing before she continued not waiting for me to reply, “you don’t even know anywhere around here,” she added and my smile got even bigger.

“Welll,” I dragged out before I continued speaking, “I booked the best hotel for you to feel comfort while we are here,” I replied waiting for her reaction.

Her face morphed into that of awe and it took everything in me not to burst out laughing because of the look on her face.

“Wait what!?” She yelled still surprised. “Did I hear you well?” She asked and I nodded.

“Of course you did, I would do anything for you,” I replied her and before I could react she jumped into my arms and placed a gentle kiss on my lips before hugging me.

It took me a minute before I could react and hug her back.

What!?!?

“Thank you Zade, you’re the best,” she said while still in my arms before she pulled away and made her way to get out of the car.

She promptly got out of the car and I could see her jaw dropped as she looked up towards the magnificent building.

It was a five star hotel, the best in the city which is why I booked a room here. Only the best for my best.

I followed suite and got out of the car and walked to her.

I signaled to Leo to offload our things and follow us as I led us into the building, my arms wrapped around Alexa’s waist and she leaned into my without hesitation.

We got to the reception and I had to free myself from Alexa so I could talk to the receptionist and get out room’s key.

“Good evening, how can we be of help?” The receptionist questioned with a smile, a smile too friendly. I got that look every time and I knew what it meant.

“Good evening, we have a reservation,” I said in a cold voice but she didn’t seem to get the memo.

“Okay under what name?” She asked as she started typing into the computer and I replied her still with the stoic voice, “Zade.”

After a few seconds, she finally spoke up. “I have confirmed your reservation,” she said with that same seductive voice and I could see Alexa get irked from the side of my eyes.

Is she jealous? Because if she was, that was the best thing ever!

“Who are you here with?” She spoke up again drawing me out of my thoughts.

I looked back at Alexa and I saw that she was waiting on my answer and I just smiled back at her. “I’m here with my fiancée,” I replied her and I saw her expression turn cold as the smile that was once on her face disappeared.

“Oh-“ she muttered to herself but I could hear her and I smiled triumphantly.

I knew it would not stop her if she was like other cheap women but momentarily she was going to back off.

She swiftly got back to typing into the laptop, getting her emotions in check but her smile not returning.

She checked us in and gave us the access card to the room, I collected it and thanked her while a bellhop came towards us as he collected our bags from Leo and made to lead us to our room.

“I would send a message to call on you when we are ready to leave, you can go now,” I say to Leo and he bowed before turning around and leaving the hotel reception.

I turned towards the bellhop and intertwined my hands with Alexa as we followed him up to our room.

I had booked the presidential suite asking for premium and luxury experience and comfort and I could not wait to see her expression when we get there.

I noticed she was unusually quiet so I decided to ask her what was wrong with her.

“You have been unusually quiet, are you fine?” I asked her as we stepped into the elevator.

She looked up at me but looked away and stared at the floor, I took my free hand to her chin and raised her head to look at me as I started into her eyes but the look in her eyes were unreadable.

“Talk to me love,” I urged her and she melted into my touch.

“The receptionist was flirting with you,” she said silently and I smiled.

So I was right, she was jealous but there was no reason for her to be, I only had eyes for her.

“And I didn’t respond to her, I only have eyes for you,” I say to her trying to reassure her.

She took her eyes away from me and spoke up again. “I know but it is just that I am just realizing that I would always have to face things like this, women flirting with you and trying to sleep with you,” she confessed and I could not help but smile.

“Oh my baby,” I cooed. “Like I said, I only want to be with you, every other person does not matter so do away with those worries and let us enjoy our holiday,” I say to her trying to get her to cheer up and she smile back at me.

“You sure?” She asked and I nodded.

“Of course my love,” I replied her as I placed a gentle kiss on her forehead and wrapped her into a hug.

As long as she wants me, I would always be here for her and if she didn’t want me anymore, I would do everything in my power for her to accept me again.

“We are here,” the bellhop said as the elevator dinged as it got to the floor our room was.

I pulled away from her as I intertwined my hands with her and led her out of the elevator.
