Chapter 70
Summer was relieved by his quick agreement. “Thanks, I appreciate it.”
Rex: “No problem at all I’ll let Liam know right away.”
He immediately called Liam to relay Summer’s request.
Liam readily agreed on the other end of the line.[]
After hanging up, Liam went to the study. “Sir, Miss Paige’s friend ran into Rex in the elevator. She mentioned that Miss Paige will be alone tonight and asked if we could look after her.“]
screen.
Zarek looked up from his computer screen.
Silver–rimmed glasses rested on his elegant nose as his striking eyes showed a hint of skepticism. “She’s asking three men to look after an injured woman at night?”
“Ah, well-
When framed that way, Liam felt suddenly confused. He and Rex hadn’t thought about it like that. “What would you suggest, sir?”
“Check with her first. See what she wants. 1
“Of course.”
Liam nodded.
He called Adeline while Zarek listened. “Miss Paige, your friend asked us to check on you tonight. Mr. Weasley wanted me to ask how you feel about that.“]
Adeline had been dozing in her lounge chair.
Liam’s call jolted her fully awake.]
Summer, you traitor!]]
“How I feel about it?” she asked cautiously.
Yes. Considering we’re all men, Mr. Weasley was concerned you might be uncomfortable. He wanted me to ask your preference.
Put like that, how could she possibly say she was uncomfortable?
Adeline tried to sound politely modest. “I don’t mind, but wouldn’t that be imposing on all of you?‘
Liam: “Not at all! It’s no trouble whatsoever. I’ve made steak and bone broth, and I can bring some over later.”
“But that’s for Mr. Weasley. I shouldn’t have his food.“]
“Then he can come down too, and you can share it.”
Adeline was thoroughly alarmed. “No, no, no! Please don’t! Actually, I’ve already ordered takeout!“]
At the mention of takeout, Liam became concerned. “You can’t eat takeout in your condition! You need proper nutrition to recover. I’ll come down and bring you upstairs. You can have dinner with Mr. Weasley, and III make some additional dishes.”
“…No, really!!“]
“It’s settled then.”
Liam hung up.
Adeline was stunned into silence[]
In the study
Zarek booked at Liam’s beaming face and sighed. “You’re getting bosster with age.
Ham: “Takeout can’t compare to my cooking, and Rex told me Miss Paige was injured while working. Such a dedicated young woman- surely you wouldn’t let her eat takeout alone?“]

In an instant, all her mental preparations evaporated.]
“Mr. Weasley? I wasn’t expecting you…
..1
She struggled to maintain a smile while her fingers nearly poked a hole in the cushion she was gripping.
Zarek casually surveyed her living room, his voice cool. “The broth is simmering. Liam needed to watch it.”
Adeline: “…”
So he sent you instead??
Zarek returned his gaze to her. “Ready to go?”
es.“1
Adeline felt small under his towering presence. The word “no” formed in her mind for several seconds, but what came out was, “Yes.
Zarek approached, bent down, and lifted her in his arms before placing her in the wheelchair.]
Adeline froze completely.
The entire process took less than a minute, but his breath, his body heat, his scent–everything hit her at once.
Her heart raced.
Her breathing slowed.
Her brain short–circuited.
Zarek felt how rigid her body had become. As he started to straighten up, he paused and asked with concern, “Did I hurt you?‘
His voice was low and gentle.
Utterly disarming.
Already in a strange, disoriented state, Adeline heard these ambiguous words and felt like every pore in her body had exploded, releasing molten lava. Only when she realized what he was actually asking did she weakly respond, “…No.“]
“Good to hear.”
Zarek straightened up, pushed her wheelchair outside, and they entered the elevator.
The elevator…
Adeline found herself involuntarily turning her head to glance at his legs, the embarrassing memory flooding back.
Worse, when she looked up, she found Zarek looking down at her with a knowing expression.
Help!
Someone help me!!
Just as she was about to suffocate from embarrassment, they finally reached the penthouse.]
Adeline’s palms were sweating.
Zarek pushed her into his home.
The penthouse was spacious with stunning views, decorated in sophisticated cool tones with minimalist design–perfectly matching his personality.
Instead of taking her to the dining room) he first brought her to his study. “Dinner isn’t ready yet. Rather than sitting around, why dont we do something together?‘]

Together? Do something?
Do… what exactly?
When he closed the study door, Adeline gripped the wheelchair armrests tightly, her mind spinning wildly with inappropriate scenarios.]
Zarek, oblivious to her internal panic, pushed her toward his desk)
Adeline’s eyes widened as she stared at the black office desk: Was he expecting her to sit on it…?
“No! I need to beaver
She turned the wheelchair, attempting to escape
So much for being a gentleman who avoided women–it was all an act
Zerk reached put to stop the wheelchair, turning it to face hint “Why are you running away?
Adeline thought indignantly: If I don’t run, Fl becue a victim of workplace barassment
