Hell
That was the one word to describe how I genuinely felt as I opened my eyes.
It was like I was dragged to the gates of hell and came back.
I sat up, looking around as ..
I felt cold.
I looked down to see what I had on and... the hang over took a back seat while I widened my eyes.
“THE FUCK!!!!!” I Yelled, looking at my bare chest and.. I dared to look under the blanket that. Covered my lower region and...
Nothing. I sprung up to my feet, looking around for my clothes and then I found them neatly folded on the chair near me.
I threw it on, not bothering to check if the clothes were properly worn or not.
I flung the door open, surprised that it did not go of it’s hinges but I could not be bothered now.
When I found him, he was a dead man.
I marched through the maze, finding him at the dinning as he talked to his men about heaven knows what.
“YOU BASTARD!!” I yelled, throwing my self at him and swinging my fist. Giving him no time to get him self.
He did not fight back, did not struggle, he just stood, taking all the punches I served which irritated me further.
“How. Dare. You. Take. Advantage. Of. Me. When. I am. Sleeping!!!!” I said, amidst each punch.
My hand started to sting “I don’t mind you hitting me, but that’s going to hurt your dainty little hands.” He said, holding my hands in one of his hands while he looked over his men and dismissed them with his eyes.
He carried me like I weighed nothing..
“you!!! Put me the fuck now right now!!!” I said, struggling against him like I was fighting for my life but he did not even flinch.
We reached the room, placing me gently on the bed before he went out again.
I blinked, trying to focus as Hades stepped into the room. His silhouette was sharp against the dim light, his expression unreadable. He crossed the room in a few strides, and before I could protest, he was at my side, pressing me gently but insistently back onto the pillows.
“Don’t try to move yet. You’re still recovering from the whisky.”
I frowned, trying to push past the fog in my mind. “What happened?” My voice came out as a croak, the dryness in my throat making it painful to speak.
“You drank more than you should have,” he replied, his tone flat, almost detached. “I brought you to the bed to sleep it off.”
His words triggered a faint memory—the taste of whisky burning down my throat, me telling him off for kidnapping me all in the name of taking me out of the bar, and then… nothing. A sudden wave of anxiety gripped me, and I searched his face for answers. “Did we…?”
He understood my unfinished question immediately, his expression hardening. “No,” he said, his voice like ice. “Nothing happened. You were too drunk to even stand on your own, let alone consent to anything.”
Relief flooded through me, “plus I would never even touch you that way, you do not fit my taste”
The intensity of his words sent a chill through me, and I felt a sting in my chest. There was no warmth in his voice, no nothing.
“why? Am I not good enough for you?” I rolled my eyes.
His eyes, dark and impenetrable, locked onto mine. “ I want to make one thing clear, Valerie—I respect you. Your boundaries, your choices, all of it. But respect goes both ways, you would give me utmost respect. I may not have been in your life that long, but in two months, i would wed your mum, speak to me like someone that would hold the position of your mum’s partner soon.”
I swallowed hard, the weight of his words settling heavily on me.
“get properly dressed, there are clothes in the wardrobe, and this is the last time you would make a scene in front of my men.” He said then walked out, leaving me all alone in the room.
I sighed. Putting my head in my hands as images of last night flashed through my mind.
I wanted to die’ I thought as i let out a groan.
I was just going to have my bath and sneak out. There was no way I could let him see me again after this!’ I thought as more images from last night filled my mind.
The way I drank the whisky,
the way I pulled my clothes and ....
Another escaped my lips as I entered the shower
**
The bathroom was warm and steamy as I stepped out of the shower, wrapping a soft towel around my body. The droplets of water clung to my skin, and the steam hung in the air like a thick, comforting blanket. I sighed, feeling the heat ease the lingering tension from the night before.
As I reached for my toothbrush, my hand brushed against a small, dark bottle sitting on the edge of the sink. Hades’ soap. I paused, my fingers lightly tracing the label. It was different from the bar he placed for me to use. It was a simple thing, nothing fancy—just a bottle of soap he used every day. But the scent... that was something else entirely. It was earthy and rich, with notes of cedarwood and something darker, something that reminded me of flowers.
I lifted the bottle to my nose and inhaled deeply. The smell was intoxicating. It wasn’t just soap; it was him. It was the scent that clung to his skin after a long day, the scent that lingered on his clothes, that filled the room whenever he was near.
I closed my eyes, letting the fragrance wash over me.
Before I knew it, I had uncapped the bottle, squeezing a small amount of the soap into my hand. I rubbed it between my palms, feeling the silky texture as the scent grew stronger, more intoxicating. I brought my hands to my face, breathing in the aroma,
I wasn’t sure how long I stood there, my eyes closed, lost in the scent of him. I didn’t even hear the door open.
“Valerie?” Hades’ voice cut through the fog of my thoughts,
I spun around, still clutching the towel tightly around myself, my cheeks flushing with embarrassment.
"ahh fuck!" i muttered fornthe millionth time in his presence, i hoped the ground would ipen up and swallow me.
