Chapter 232

Chapter 232

In an instant, everyone felt a wave of panic.

But then they remembered this was the fourth room, and there was a puzzle involved. Strange occurrences were to be expected, and they had mentally prepared for this. After a moment, they managed to calm themselves down, suppressing their fear.

"Don't freak out, just keep moving!" Someone shouted, trying to muster courage.

Then, another voice, trembling, emerged from the crowd. "Wait... Look over there... at the wall...”

Everyone instinctively turned to look at the crumbling wall on the east side of the room.

That was where Ralph had been standing, giving them directions.

From his vantage point, he should have been able to see everything happening on this side. Yet, Ollie had run off without looking back, and Ralph hadn't tried to stop him. Instead, he stood there silently, unmoving.

Due to Ollie's strange behavior and the worsening visibility, everyone had overlooked Ralph, who had been standing on the wall, overseeing everything.

Ralph was still there, standing on the cracked wall, frozen in his previous position, like a statue.

In the dim light, only his silhouette was visible. His shoulders were slumped, his toes pointed, arms raised towards a distant camera, in a bizarre and grotesque stance.

"Ralph!"Fiona called out, but there was no response.

Gathering their courage, they walked closer. But as they approached the wall, they all stopped, gasping at the sight before them.

The low wall was stained red and black with blood, and Ralph's back was a mess of flesh and gore.

His stomach had a gaping hole, with his organs spilled out, mingling with muscle fragments on the ground. His pale spine reflected the eerie moonlight.

Despite this, his body remained upright, maintaining its previous posture.

A cold wind blew through, sending chills down their spines.

They had just entered this place, and the terrifying entity had already started its killing spree.

The NPCs they had hoped would provide crucial information were either dead or missing.

"Is the room with puzzle pieces really this difficult?"Charles mumbled, catching a familiar scent of tobacco.

He turned to see Fiona close to him, whispering, "Remember, in tasks with clear exit hints, the ghosts are often exceptionally vicious.”

Charles nodded slightly, then looked towards the camera outside the house. "I want to check that camera.”

Fiona followed his gaze to the camera by the roadside and said without hesitation, "Let's go together.”

They reached for the camera and found it still running. Charles inspected it carefully, then moved to the table with the connected computer, reviewing the footage.

He fiddled with the equipment, rewinding the video to the beginning, and hit play.

Fiona watched Charles operate the camera, surprised, "You know how to do this?”

Charles chuckled, "When you're broke and take enough odd jobs, you learn a bit of everything.”

Soon, the others gathered around, staring at the screen.

At first, everything seemed normal. The camera followed them until they reached the house, where it finally captured Ralph standing on the wall.

But then, everyone's faces turned pale.

They all noticed Ralph wasn't alone on the wall. There was a woman with a pale face, a creepy smile, and hollow eyes.

She held a sharp pair of scissors, wildly snipping behind Ralph. Each cut was accompanied by a crisp sound.

As the video played, Charles suddenly shivered, realizing the sound was unusual.

He was horrified to find the snipping sound growing louder and clearer.

It felt like the ghost was approaching them, scissors in hand...
