Chapter 33: The Bill (5)

Runa looked at the receipt and said, "There is really commander Richard's signature, Dad look" Runa stood up from her seat to show Lincoln.

Lincoln collected the paper and read it.

"Well, I said Arci certainly has a special relationship with commander Richard. Otherwise, why didn't she ask us to help her repair the Jade Pendant her brother left behind?" Runa said absentmindedly

"Runa" Dawn called her to warn her.

Arci smiled sadly.

"Arci" Lincoln called her.

Arci glanced at her father.

"What is the matter?" He yelled at her.

"He was the one that broke the Jade pendant so he offered to repair it" Arci found an excuse.

Because she knew that Dawn would never allow Runa to testify that she was the one who broke the Jade Pendant.

"Where did you meet?" Dawn asked.

"We met on Chicken Flavor Soup street. As soon as he saw me, he came to stop me and broke it by accident," Arci replied.

"Commander Richard broke the Jade Pendant so he paid to have it repaired. He was afraid that Bremo would know that he was shopping so he asked me not to tell Bremo that i saw him" Arci continued

Lincoln didn't believe her and took his phone and called the command, Richard's office.

Richmond was setting Lunch when he called.

"Hello," Lincoln said.

"Hello?" Richard answered confusedly since he can't know who called.

"If it is convenient for you Please come to my home for Lunch" Lincoln told him.

"Okay It'll be disrespectful to refuse I'll be right there" Richard replied politely.

He dropped the telephone.

"Richmond get the car ready Mr Lincoln invites us to have lunch in his home" Richard told him.

"Come on, why did Mr Lincoln suddenly invite you to lunch ? I've been stewing this pork in soy sauce for two hours" Richmond complained.

"Stop complaining, it just happened. We all will enjoy lunch today. Let's go" He said vaguely and stood up from his seat.

Richmond could only follow him helplessly.

The atmosphere at the Lincoln mansion was tense, no one talked because Lincoln was angry so they were only waiting for Richard and they didn't have to wait for long because he arrived quickly.

Calvin led him to the living room.

"Master, the guest came," Calvin said.

"Commander Richard, welcome to my home" Lincoln said.

"Mr Lincoln, thank you for your invitation. I came in a hurry this time without bringing any proper gifts. I just bought a bottle of Diamond old wine, I want to have a drink with you and Bremo today" Richard said.

Dawn stood up from her seat and walked towards them.

"Commander Richard, Welcome" She said.

Richard bowed at her.

"Okay, come please take a seat" Lincoln said and led him to the dining table.

The maids served the food and poured wine in everyone's cup.

"Today, I invited you to my home to do the honors of the house and thank you for taking good care of Arci," Lincoln said.

"Right commander Richard, Arci Jade Pendant was broken but you spent money to have it repaired, which made us ashamed. As her mother, I was inconsiderate" Dawn cut in.

"Mrs Lincoln, that Is a trifle, you don't have to take it to heart. Actually, I broke the Jade Pendant so I should pay to have it repaired. I appreciate that Miss Arci didn't blame me. It is not about taking care of her" Richard said to clear up the misunderstanding.

Lincoln's expression eased up a lot after Richard's explanation.

"Commander Richard, you broke such a small Jade Pendant? What a coincidence" Dawn said.

Dawn couldn't accept her scheme failed so she speak up again to have him cornered

"That was really a coincidence," Richard admitted . "At the time I was shopping with Flow on chicken-flavored soup street and came across Miss Arci," Richard said, filling in the loopholes.

"Arci, I think you walked carelessly and bumped into Commander Richard, didn't you?" Dawn asked. She wants one of them to make mistakes but unfortunately their explanation was too flawless.

She wants her to admit that She bumped into Richard and then she will remind her that she didn't say that it was Commander Richard who stopped her.

Arci was about to speak when Richard cut in, "No, I stepped forward to stop her from talking, Perhaps because I was somehow rough in the manner the jade Pendant was broken" Richard replied flawlessly.

Dawn smiled to cover her angry expression, "To be honest, commander Richard you went shopping with some lady called Flow. Arci Is a young lady from a wealthy family after all. Don't you think it is not proper?" Dawn said.

"Well….." Richard said.

"By the way, just what happened that day?" Dawn cut in and glanced at her Arci.

Richard sighed and tried to remember what happened that day when he saw her. He remembered that he told her not to Bremo that she saw him.

"Well actually, I don't want Miss Arci to tell Bremo that she saw me on Chicken flavored soup street," Richard replied.

Dawn became speechless.

Both Lincoln and Bremo's expression eased up a lot after seeing that everything was the truth.

"Bremo, I'm really sorry I lied to you. At the time, I didn't go out to have a drink with Philip. I had to go shopping with Flow so…."

"Commander Richard, it seems that in order not to talk business with me you cracked your brains' ' Bremo cut in.

"Bremo, I'll drink a cup first as punishment, " Richard said and drank his wine glass.

"I didn't expect that there would be such a story," Dawn said.

"Right, But i still need to thank you for taking care of Arci. Come on, Let's have a drink today" Lincoln said and picked up his wine glass.

"Mr Lincoln, let's get drunk" Richard picked up his wine glass

"Cheers"

"Cheers"

They all picked up their wineglass and drank the wine.
