Selene's POV
It has been around and hour since Cynth let me go early and honestly, it’s been a blessing I got back to my room and sprawled on my bed. I managed to have a mind link catch up with dot and explain to her all about my punishment, she let me know her dad has also been keeping close tabs on her and then we arrange to go to the town and try to find my birthday dress on Friday that will be exactly 2 weeks before! I am Just hoping that Arti and Cynth let me go! Dots dad even said he would take us. No matter what I do my mind pulls me back to the wolf in the forest the way his eyes glowed blue, I have seen them in my dreams a few times since then.
After another 20 minutes I take my hair out of its messy bun and head into the shower, I let the hot water run over my sore muscles making me instantly relax I was my the sweat out of my hair seeing as I didn't have time between training and the hospital.
I step out of the shower catching myself in the mirror, I can see that the training is already paying off I wasn't in bad shape before but I'm a lot more defined now. I walk into my room pull out some clothes out of the draw I opt for a pair of skinny jeans and an oversized jumper My stomach growls at me I'm starving Hopefully Sybil has cooked her famous mac and cheese because I could really go for several plates of that. As wolves we are naturally hungry but all these extra training sessions the warriors are eating twice the normal amount.
Once I am dressed, I head for the door Bumping into Arti on the way, we have not really spoken since the incident, but I do want her to know I'm sorry. I know she does not like big displays. I opt to mind link her instead as we walk.
"Hey Arti, I know your still mad, but I just wanted to apologize I know that I broke the most important rule and left the grounds without telling anyone and I'm so sorry, I know that the punishment was just, but I am just so sorry " I close the link still walking silently besides her.
"I accept your apologies Selene I know that that could not have been easy for you , I know what me and Cynth asked of you seemed like a lot but it really is for your own protection we love you so much and to see you hurt or lost would bring our word crashing down " With that she looks at me and smiles I know that she I still mad and I will do my punishment until she says it ends but I'm happy to have her back when, when we don't speak if feels like a part of me is missing .
When we reach the kitchen, dinner is in full swing me and Arti grab a plate and fill it up, I see her stop and mind link someone she looks at me with a smile.
"Cynth is has saved us a seat I thought we could have a little family dinner " She looks at me a glimmer her Amethyst eyes full of love.
I smile at her "Lead the way Arti”.
Dinner fly’s by and before we know it it’s been 2.5 hours its nearly 11pm , we spend time winding Arti up as we can see Ryan hanging about waiting for her to be done but not interrupting the mate bond forcing him to want to be close to her , several times he takes steps forwards to come over then goes back again , we do this for another 10 minutes before Cynth finally says we should stop tormenting him and Arti links him to come over .He instantly wraps his arms around her and they look complete , I glance at Cynth I never know what she feels when she sees mates but for Arti I see nothing but happiness .
We then make our way to the way back to ours rooms I say goodnight to my sisters and head into my room. Tonight, has been absolutely wonderful I have never felt closer to my sisters, it reminds me that it’s okay to fight with them when we collide back together our bond is always stronger.
I change into my pjs and climb into bed as I drift off into sleep a I see a familiar scene.
*Selene’s dream *
I am in the water in wolf form letting the breeze rush over me Seleste has purring in my mind at the peaceful bliss.
Then I see them the piercing blue eyes of the dark wolf.
He stares at me with wander as he walks along the edge of the water, I do not take my eyes off him I'm drawn to him like I want to touch him, to be near him. I climb out of the water towards him.
I walk slowly never taking my eyes off his, I smell the ginger and honey and I am drawn to him, I go to sniff him, and his eyes instantly go black. Seleste and I retreat fumbling back into the water we hear his growl as he gets closer to me.
*dream over *
I then wake up sweat dripping from my face and my heart beating out of my chest, who is he?
The next 3 nights are the I have the same dream always waking up before he catches me.
It is now Friday Morning 2 weeks till my birthday Shopping day with Dot, it may be 4.30 am but get up and shower anyway I can’t sleep now anyway.
Time to find me a birthday dress.
Calder’s Pov
Ever since I saw that wolf by the waterfall, I cannot get her out of my mind I sleep, and I see her eyes.
I drift off in meetings and I see her eyes.
To top it off Arvid has not stopped whining to go back to see if she is there again, we went he next night but there was not a trace of her.
It is starting to affect my work, but I don't know why the pull to her wasn't instant like the mate pull so what was it.
I am lost in thought at the desk in my office when Sigi comes in. I know what he’s going to ask he’s going to ask if I’ve read the papers, he put in front of me 2 hours ago and truthfully the answer is no. I have spent the last 2 hours wandering about her, about what she might look like as a human what her body would feel like.
I pull myself out of my thoughts and look at Sigi.
"What’s up Sigi "I say with a smile, but he already knows his presents here is irritating as I am preoccupied.
"Just wanted to let you know the invite has gone out to the pearl moon pack for talks about the rogue and the ball, your mother decided to make it a masquerade, so no one feels uncomfortable around people they do not know “He looks at me hoping for me to say something or approve of my mother choices.
The reality is I could not care less about this ball finding a mate is not a high priority for me right now, sure Arvid would love a mate but until we know what is going on a mate would make me weak.
"Sigi , just leave my mother too it I know she meals well but the most important part of the ball is the talk with Alpha Eric and his Beta Ryan , we need to know if they have been attacked , it was also be worth knowing what they are doing as a precaution very little is known about the pearl moon it would be good if we can get some up to date pack numbers from them also , I don't like not knowing who exactly is at our border "
I speak with Sigi for a while longer, we decide that when Alpha Eric gets here, we should use the alliance to train the 2 packs together this way we will understand what their warriors are capable of. I’ve heard things of his Beta and his mate it said that when she fights, her skill is matched by no other it’s also been said among the nosiest in our pack that she has a glow to her in battle. Whether or not this is true is irreverent, but I’d still like to see the fighter that could take down my best.
When we are done, we both make our way to the training grounds, the pack has been training nonstop since we put in the extra sessions, I can see they are giving it their all, but I also wander if I'm pushing them to hard.
We reach the field and I see Fin and about 30 warriors training they all look tired and run down, I take a step forward placing my hand on fins shoulder.
I take a breath and begin to mind link the entire pack "I know you have all been training hard and that these extra sessions must be taking it out of you " I look around seeing full concentration at my words a few other pack members who have stopped and are listening to the announcement.
"With This in mind and with the former Luna’s announcement of the ball tomorrow will be a rest day each warrior will attend only 1 training session instead of the usual 4. This will give those of you who are unmated a chance to prepare and those of you who are to spend some time with your families " A small cheer erupts and see nods from the crowd along with lots of "Thank you alpha" through mind link.
"Make no mistake however we will continue to train hard until our borders are safe, I will expect nothing but the best from everyone " I close the link give a short smile to Fin who looks relieved to have some time off and turn to face Sigi.
"Sigi let me know as soon as Alpha Eric responds, I want to know how many people he is bringing and the names of those he will bring to the meeting " He nods in agreement and I begin the walk back to the house.
"You did a good thing Calder the pack deserve a break and finally we can focus on our Mate”.
"That's not why I did this Vidar I did it because I respect their hard work not so we have time to worry about our mate, if we find her while we are under attack, we will be weak “He starts to argue back but I close him off I do not need to hear it from him.
I get to my room Tear off my clothes and hop in the shower.
Instantly My mind if flooded with those emerald green eyes.
