Chapter 8: 05|Troublemakers-1

I snapped out of my daze and pushed the frozen boy off me. I broke the record of jumping back on feet from a fall as I stood up. Closing my eyes tightly in embarrassment, I hoped that this will all turn out to be some twisted dream. "I-I am so sorry! I should have seen where I was going. I mean- ugh! I was just dazed in anger and I didn't see you and then you started skidding. Oh my god! I shouldn't have tugged you! I am so stupid! What if you've a girlfriend! Shit! What did I-" "Shut up!" And I did. I opened one eye and immediately regretted it. If human eyes were laser beams, I would have been a pile of ash by now. He was gorgeous, I will give him that. Chiselled jaw, high cheekbones, mysterious black eyes and soft brown hair. But something about him told me that his personality was not so gorgeous after all. You know what! There is too much concentration of Testosterone in my life these days! I need a break! Ugh! "You've already got what you want! Now get the hell away from me and if you can afford, get some self-respect!" I flinched but then my supressed anger rose and threw the guilt out of the window. "Don't you fucking dare talk to me like that ever again! And just because I said sorry first, doesn't mean that you'll pin all blame on me! You are the one who is roller skating in a park for one! I felt bad because what if you were committed or gay or whatever but you know what! Now I am disgusted that I accidently lost my first kiss to a jerk like you!" His face was painted with colours of pure shock by the end of my rant and he opened his mouth to say something but I just stomped and turned away. I was utterly pissed by the time I made it home. It was all too much for one day and now all I wanted was to scream in frustration. "Astrid-bear?" I took a deep breath and turned to face my brother. "Yeah?" I pasted the brightest smile I could muster. "What happened?" "Nothing. Why?" "Give me a break Astrid and just tell me what happened." "I said nothing?!" I yelled but regretted it and sighed. "Sorry, it's just that I had a long day and I am frustrated now." I didn't tell him what exactly happened because for one, I didn't want them to kill the mystery boy and for two, I didn't want to sabotage their blooming friendship with Alex and Rose because of a small spat between us. Asher's face was an evidence of my poor lying skills but he didn't push me. Instead, a huge grin lit his face up. Oh no. "Astrid-bear?" "Yes, Ash?" I felt myself mirroring his grin. "Let's have some fun, eh?" "Hell yeah!" ~~~ "Duck!" I whisper yelled on Asher and practically shoved his head in ground. He let out a choked whimper. Guard passed us and I finally breathed out. Quickly surveying the area for any more potential threat, I rose up from my squatted position behind the Trophy rack. I took a moment to admire the trophies with mine and Asher's names as captain. Sniff. "What the-" I almost yelled as I turned to face Asher, whom I totally forgot. "I am so proud of my sister!" he threw his arms around me and fake sobbed. Drama queen. "Asher freaking James Parker, get the hell off me!" I hissed as he shook with laughter. He gingerly unwrapped himself and I gave him a deadly glare that turned his laugh into cough. "I go this way, you go that one. Okay?" I nodded and with an evil smile, I started moving towards west hallway. It will be fun. Muahhhhah! ~~ I had this huge evil grin plastered on my face when I woke up 15 minutes early from alarm. I am pretty sure that Asher was feeling the same. I quickly brushed my teeth, showered and changed into red plaid shirt over black camisole and black ripped jeans with white converse. I skipped to Asher's room and before I could knock, he opened his door. "Someone is cheerful." I taunted. He rolled his eyes and ushered me in. I made myself comfortable on his bed as he sat behind me and took the brush out of my hand. I noticed that he was fully dressed too. He gently brushed the knots out of my hair and twisted them into... something. "Done!" he exclaimed in my ear. I winced and opened my mouth to yell at him but Aiden beat me to it. "Whoa! Are you on sugar high or something? Even Martians heard that!" One look at our dressed and ready to go appearances with creepy evil grins, Aiden's brain bulb glowed with increase in diameter of his eyes. "No. No, tell me you both didn't do something!" "Dad taught us to not lie, brother dear." I shrugged. His eyes narrowed but Asher and I stayed unaffected making him sigh in hopelessness. "Just stay out of trouble. Okay?" "Okay." We chorused. "Maybe Okay will be our always." Asher added, thoughtfully. "Shut up, Ash!" this time Aiden and I spoke in sync. Great minds think alike. After a long-long wait, we three finally drove to school. I didn't even pay attention to all the usual staring and whispers as I was completely buzzing with excitement inside. "Well, see you later. Stay out of trouble!" Aiden went to his locker after pecking my head. Asher walked me to my locker. "I will see you in History, eh?" Asher smirked and winked. I chuckled and high fived him as he left for his class and I left for maths. First two morning classes progressed at snail speed. Firstly, excitement was killing me and it practically ached to wait until 3rd period. Secondly, I had Alex in both the classes. If I didn't know any better, the burn mark that I will sport soon will be courtesy of him staring at me. I really didn't want to spoil my mood and hence, I was ignoring his pleading eyes like thin air. Thank god, I had Aiden in Chemistry. When bell for history rang, I almost wanted to kiss the annoying bell but phew, I knew better than that. Asher sat next to me, like usual but what ticked me a bit was when Rose took seat on his other side. He completely forgot me. I looked away and tried to block their laughter. Now I know what jealousy tastes like. I was feeling that my best friend was slipping away from my fingers. I shook my head and tried to shake the hurt this thought bought away. People say that you don't know someone's worth until they are gone but in reality, you know their worth all along. It's just that, you never consider the chance of their leaving. If my brothers leave me, I will be destroyed. Completely devastated and no matter how selfish and mean it sounds, I didn't want to lose them in hands of a few new friends. "Astrid, you okay?" I blinked back from my reverie when Asher nudged me. Ms Hill was already lecturing and I didn't even noticed her entering. "Yeah, I was just thinking something." I gave him a reassuring smile when on inside, I was shaking with fear. He looked sceptically at me before his phone vibrated. A grin took over his features that made me smile involuntarily. "5" he whispered. "4" "3"
