Chapter 17: Chapter Seventeen

AUTHOR’s Pov

The palace suddenly felt lonely for Anastasia as she cautiously walked through the walls. Her eyes darted back and forth as she walked away from where she was supervising Elias. She walked further to the floor where things usually happen, holding the hem of her long dress. Her dark brown hair was tied into a bun, and heavy makeup was on her flawless face.

“Aahhh.”

A sudden cry of shock left her lips as someone yanked her away from the hallway. The person pressed her against the wall with his strong arms. He was smirking as he kicked his lips lustily.

“Looking for me?”

Ana lowered her eyes, her cheeks getting red from being flustered.

“No—I was—”

“Mhmmmm.”

Her words were interrupted as he captured her lips in a kiss. He sucked her lower lips as she whimpered under his touch. She wrapped her hands over his neck and he carried her from the ground, wrapping her legs around his torso.

“Mhm…”

She moaned into his mouth as his tongue invaded her privacy, fighting for dominance and when she responded and tangled her tongue with his, he pulled away.

His lips curled into a dirty smile. “I knew you’d come. I bet you missed me as much as I missed ruining you.”

Ana’s eyes widened as she playfully hit his chest. “Jae! Stop it, someone might hear us.”

“We are royals, they can hardly hear us,” he whispered as his hands found their way to her boobs. He cupped it suddenly, rubbing it against his palm.

Ana sucked her breath in, “Jae—”

Jae continued rubbing her boobs as he placed his lips on her nape.

“Tell me,” he murmured, his voice low and dark. “Do you miss me?”

“Yes—aaah.”

Jae hummed and rubbed himself against her as he lifted her long gown. He took her lips in his mouth again and sucked it passionately. The tension was overwhelming between them, the lust was palpable. The dark hallway was perfect for their made-out as they got lost in each other’s arms.

Ana gasped at their interaction. It wasn't gentle or tender; it was raw and primal. Ana’s hands flew to his chest, her fingers digging into the fabric of his shirt, pressing herself to him as if afraid that he would disappear.

Jae groaned into her as he cupped her ass. It sent vibrations down her spine, her nails slightly scraping his back.

“Fuck, Ana,” he muttered, his voice hoarse and rough. “You are fucking sexy.”

Footsteps passed by but they didn't stop as they faded into distance. Their kisses grew more frantic and more desperate. Jaw’s hand slipped under her gown, his fingers brushing against the lace of her underwear, and she gasped. Her head fell backward, as the wave of pleasure washed over her. She could feel his smirk against her neck as he kissed his way down, his breath hot against her skin.

“Jae,” she whispered, her voice trembling. “Someone could see us.”

Jae pulled her lips in between his teeth and bit it a little before pulling back. His thumb rubbed her lips where it was bleeding and he licked the blood off before it healed.

“Ana,” he murmured, “This isn't over.”

Ana smiled and bumped her head against his before she adjusted her gown and they made their way downstairs. Their expression changed as if they didn't just commit the forbidden a while ago.

“Ana,” Jae called out as his hand slipped into his pocket to hide his cock budging.

Ana snapped her head toward him, “Hmm.”

“What are you up to?”

“What are you talking about?” She asked, feigning ignorance because she already knew what he was talking about.

Jae exhaled loudly before he gestured toward the kitchen with his head.

Elias was standing with three maids with rags on his hands. He looked tired.

“Lucien won't like this.”

Ana shrugged her shoulders, “He won't know. I don't like that human boy, he irritates me so much.”

Jae smirked at her, “He irritates you because Lucien gives him attention.”

Ana frowned, her eyes darkly narrowed. “That's because he has that blood.”

Jae shook his head, his expression lazily tired.

“Don't stress yourself about him, Ana. He is just human, nothing special about him.”

Ana responded, “I do my things my way.”

Jae hummed before he left her alone and went through another door.

Ana stood there as a frown registered on her face, her eyes glaring at Elias. She thought he was just a human too and nothing special about him until Lucien started to dote on him even though it wasn't public yet. She needed to make Elias cower in fear and run away from Lucien before the grand event came up.

Lucien was hers alone.

Meanwhile, Lucien remained absent. His duties as a king pulled him elsewhere, leaving the palace to its silent wars.

~Elias~

My body was aching from so much bending and chores I had done for hours. Not to talk of what I did last night with Lucien that I haven't even healed from. I was about to drop the rags and find my way when I caught Ana leaving the chamber but then I got engaged with three palace maids.

These maids were the lowest Vampires rank as I heard. They were always made to work every single time with no rest.

“So, which floor do you stay?” One of them, Isla asked me. She was the kindest of them.

I smiled a bit, “I stay on the second floor.”

Celeste scoffed hard, crossing her arms together. “A human like you, sleeping on the second floor? Must be nice to the king’s new plaything.”

She was rude and unkind.

And then, the last maid, Mira spoke up. “Welcome to the palace, I guess.”

She was the nonchalant and neutral one.

It felt a bit different to talk to other people, it was nice even though they were wary of me.

“You should go now, I will complete the remaining chores for you,” Isla said to him, her perfect teeth shining through her smile.

My mouth parted slightly, “Are—you sure?”

Celeste hissed, “Better be here tomorrow, we have a grand event in a few days, and we all need to prepare for it.”

Grand event?

Mira walked past us without saying anything. I nodded at Isla and quickly got out of the kitchen. It was already dark in the evening and tired was an understatement of what I was feeling.

My eyes caught Ana and Jae talking on the stairs and I used that moment to slip away. My mind wandered to Lucien as I walked toward my room, I missed him. I haven't seen him since he left me with that priest this morning.

My fingers clenched together as I hoped he would appear in the hallway and snatch me to his room but….

He didn't.

Till I got into my room on the second floor.
