Chapter 12 SIGNING FOR MONTHS OF DESIRES
Ava's POV
At a time, I did not kow what to say, Dominic went silent for a while before he finally said;
"Then we deal with it honestly when it happens. But Ava, you need to understand that this is an arrangement, not a relationship. I care about you and I'll take care of you, but I can't promise you love or forever."
It shouldn't have hurt to hear him say it, but it did anyway.
"I understand." I said maintaining a composed face and a little forced tight lipped smile
"Do you have any other concerns?"
I negatively shook my head and he slid a pen across the desk to me.
"Then sign. Make this official."
I stared at the folder on he desk. My hand was shaking slightly as I picked up the pen and flipped to the last page where our signatures would go. I looked at him, at a moment, our eyes locked. I looked at the sheets of paper and a bit felt their weight. I should have stopped but my fingers hovered over the pen.
This was it, the moment where everything changed.
I signed my name carefully, then pushed the contract back to him.
He signed right below my signature, and the moment he was done, he stood and came around the desk, pulling me up out of my chair and into his arms before I could process what was happening.
"When do we start?" I asked, my voice coming out breathier than I intended.
"Now," he said, his hands sliding down to grip my hips.
"Unless you're not ready."
"I'm ready."
That was apparently all the permission he needed because suddenly his mouth was on mine, hot and demanding, and I was kissing him back just as desperately while his hands roamed over my body like he was trying to memorize every curve.
He backed me up against his desk and lifted me onto it easily, stepping between my legs and pressing his body against mine in a way that made it very clear how much he wanted me.
His hands slid up my thighs under my skirt and I gasped against his mouth, my own hands clutching at his shoulders.
"I've been thinking about this since I dropped you off two nights ago," he murmured against my neck, his lips trailing down to my collarbone.
"Thinking about touching you again, tasting you, making you come apart for me."
His fingers were moving higher, teasing along the edge of my panties, and I was already so wet it was embarrassing.
"Dominic," I breathed, my head falling back as his mouth found a sensitive spot below my ear.
"Tell me what you want," he said, his fingers finally slipping beneath the fabric and stroking along my folds in a way that made my hips buck involuntarily. His hands move monetarily along her clit, teasing them hard, while the other hand was lifting my blouse and playing with my boobs.
I intentionally didn't wear a bra to save him the stress of taking them off.
"I want..."
A knock on the door made us both freeze.
"Sir, I'm sorry to interrupt," Adrian's voice came from the other side.
"But you have a call from Tokyo that can't wait."
Dominic's jaw clenched and he dropped his forehead against mine, breathing hard.
"Fuck," he muttered, then called out louder,
"Give me five minutes."
"Of course, sir."
We heard Adrian's footsteps retreat and Dominic pulled back slowly, his hands sliding out from under my skirt even though I could tell he really didn't want to stop.
"I'm sorry," he said, helping me down from the desk and smoothing my skirt back into place.
"This call is important or I'd tell them to go to hell."
"It's okay." I was still trying to catch my breath, my whole body feeling like it was on fire.
He cupped my face and kissed me again, slower this time but just as intense.
"Tonight," he said against my lips.
"Come to my penthouse at eight. I'll send Adrian to pick you up."
"Okay."
"And Ava?" He waited until I met his eyes.
"Wear something that's easy to take off."
Heat flooded through me and I nodded, not trusting my voice.
He kissed me one more time, then reluctantly let me go so he could take his call.
I walked out of his office on shaky legs, my lips swollen and my panties soaked. On my way out, i found Adrian waiting by the elevator.
"I'll drive you home, Miss Scott," he said, and if he had any idea what had just happened in that office, his face didn't show it.
The ride back to my apartment was quiet, but I caught Adrian watching me in the rearview mirror a few times with an expression I couldn't quite read.
"Can I ask you something?" I finally said.
"Of course."
"How long have you worked for Dominic?"
"Twenty years, since I was eleven. His father took me in after my parents died."
"So you know him pretty well."
"Better than most people."
I hesitated, then asked the question that had been eating at me.
"Is he... is he a good man?"
Adrian was quiet for a long moment, and when he spoke his voice was careful.
"Mr. Hayes is complicated. He's ruthless in business and he doesn't let people get close easily. But he's also fiercely loyal to those he cares about, and he protects what's his." He met my eyes in the mirror.
"You're his now, Miss Scott. That means he'll move heaven and earth to keep you safe. But it also means he'll be possessive in ways that might be difficult to handle." He added.
"I can handle it."
"I hope so." He pulled up outside my building.
"For both your sakes."
I got out and watched him drive away, then went up to my apartment and immediately collapsed on my bed.
My phone buzzed and when I checked, it was a message from him.
Can't stop thinking about you. Tonight can't come fast enough. - D
I smiled and typed back, hitting my legs on the bed playfully and shrugging my shoulders like a teenager in love.
Same here. I type and another message came through almost immediately.
Touch yourself while you think about me. I want you wet and ready when you come to me tonight.
My breath caught and heat flooded through my body all over again.
I should have been embarrassed or offended by how direct he was, but instead I found my hand already sliding under my clothes while thinking about how his hands were on me in his office, about what he was going to do to me tonight, and I came so hard I had to bite my pillow to keep from crying out.
Afterward I lay there catching my breath and staring at my phone.
Done, I really can't wait for tonight. I typed back and he has responded
Good girl. See you at eight.
I had eight hours to get through before I saw him again.
Eight hours to try to convince myself that this was just an arrangement, just business, nothing more.
But I was already failing at that.
