The air grew thick with tension as the forest around them seemed to hold its breath. Jenny’s father’s amber eyes burned like wildfire, the beast within him flickering dangerously close to the surface. Brennan and Mark exchanged a silent glance, their protectiveness palpable.
“Dad, please, calm down,” Jenny pleaded, stepping between her father and the two werewolves. Her voice trembled but carried a quiet authority. “They’re not enemies. They’re part of my world now.”
He snarled softly, a low growl that vibrated in his chest. His paws twitched as if ready to lunge. The fur along his jaw bristled, and his breathing was ragged, a testament to the struggle raging inside him—his human mind battling the animal instincts that threatened to take over.
“Your world?” he spat, voice rough like gravel. “This world of monsters and magic? You think I don’t see what they are? They’re dangerous, Jenny. And I won’t let you get hurt.”
Brennan stepped forward, voice steady but firm. “Sir, I understand your concern. But Jenny is safe with us. We’ve protected her before, and we will again.”
Mark nodded in agreement. “Your daughter’s strength is part of what draws us to her. She’s not just a girl caught between two worlds; she’s a force of her own.”
Jenny’s father’s eyes flicked to her, the beast within battling to stay contained. For a moment, she saw the man he once was—the man who had loved her fiercely before darkness had crept into their lives.
“Please,” she whispered, tears pooling in her eyes. “I need you to trust me. I’m not the girl I was when I first met you. I’ve found my strength, and I’ve found who I am—who I want to be. These men are part of that.”
He hesitated, the growl in his throat subsiding slightly. The shift in his expression was subtle but profound—confusion, fear, and a flicker of hope.
Finally, he took a deep breath, the tension easing just enough. “If you’re truly safe… then I’ll hold back—for now. But if you’re in danger, I won’t hesitate to step in.”
Jenny nodded, relief washing over her. “Thank you, Dad. I promise, I’ll be careful.”

As her father turned to leave, Jenny reached out and touched his arm gently. “I love you, Dad. I need you to believe in me.”
He looked down at her, the fierce animal momentarily subdued. “I love you, too, Jenny. And I’ll always protect you, even if it means fighting the monsters in your world.”
With that, he melted back into the shadows, leaving Jenny and the werewolves standing amidst the whispering trees. The night was far from over, but a fragile peace had been restored—for now.

Mark’s jaw clenched, his muscles taut. “We love Jenny. We’ve fought for her, bled for her. We’re not threats—they’re promises.”
But the father’s eyes darkened, and his nostrils flared. “Love? You think love makes you invincible? You’re nothing but wolves playing with fire. She’s my daughter, and I won’t watch her get hurt by your reckless obsession. Stay away from her—both of you.”
The full moon’s glow intensified, casting an eerie silver sheen over the scene. Jenny reached out, her hand trembling as she touched her father’s arm. “I love you, Dad. I need you to believe in me. In us.”
