Chapter 11 11
Third Person POV
Adrian sat confused by what had just happened: why was she upset, why did she leave, and most importantly, why did she pour him a cup of water? He honestly couldn't get it.
He took off his robe, went into the bathroom, and washed his face clean of the drowsiness he had been feeling ever since he woke up. He went back inside and took a cup of whisky to clear his head.
He picked up his phone and called Thalia . The phone rang for a few moments before it got busy; he couldn't be more confused. Was she upset that he was no longer the Alpha, or did she perhaps think he had lost my authority at the company?
He understood that they had made so many plans together about how to take the company to even greater heights by combining the assets of both packs, but now he wasn't so sure.
He had to let her know that he still had complete control over the company, and that's what really mattered in the end, wasn't it? He called her number again, waiting in silence for her to pick up, but she missed the call again to his disappointment.
Knowing how sporadic she was, she could make a bad judgement that could ruin their entire plans. He got up and out of some clothes, hurried outside the room, running down the stairs.
He asked some of the omegas he saw for the direction in which she went. He heard a car quickly leaving the estate and ran outside.
It was Thalia and she was leaving; he quickly got into his car as he kept shouting her name; she pointedly ignored him as she drove out; quickly, Adrian got into his car and drove after her.
She was fast and she was reckless; he kept calling her number but got no answers; she drove faster the more he called her; luckily for him, he had a V8 twin turbo engine with double horsepower.
Soon enough, he caught up to her, driving just by her side. "Thalia, what are you doing? Stop the car," he shouted over the winds. His voice was mostly drowned by the sound of the engines, but she didn't even flinch, like she hadn't heard a single word.
"Thalia !" Adrian shouted, and again he got ignored. He knew she could hear him but was behaving like this was just unnecessary.
"I still have the company!" Adrian shouted once more, her eyes darted towards his for the first time, and he nodded fiercely, hoping she would at least believe him.
"Pull over, let's talk about this, please," he shouted once more, straining his voice. Thalia kept her gaze on him for a moment longer before slowing down the car. Adrian sighed contently, happy that he had been able to stop her for now.
The goddess knows what idea she had thought up after leaving the house. He stopped right beside her car on the roadside, then came out and walked up to her as she sat in her car. She still seemed pretty upset to Adrian, so he made sure to be careful with his words.
"Why didn't you pick up the calls?" Adrian asked as gently as he could, which wasn't very much considering all he had gone through just to stop her from making any rash decisions, but she didn't respond still.
"Would you stop ignoring me and say something? I'm trying to explain things to you here," he said, his anger slowly becoming more evident. She looked at him for a brief moment before answering.
"I needed to clear my head," she responded before looking away. Adrian looked at her a bit dumbfounded. Was all that just to clear her head?
"You said you're still the CEO of the company, right?" She asked as if interested all of a sudden. He looked at her for a brief moment, trying to understand what to say next. He simply nodded his head.
"Then why didn't you tell me?" She turned around in a rush, pointing her finger at Adrian's chest. He looked at her surprised, remembering how she had burst into his room and woken him up.
"Excuse me? Why didn't I tell you?" He asked, his anger rising. "Who was the one who jumped to the conclusion that I had lost it?"
"Who was the one who poured a glass of water in my face?"
"Who was the one who left the room without ever giving me a chance to speak?" Thalia stood in shock as she backed away slowly; she certainly hadn't expected this reaction from Adrian and wasn't prepared for it in the slightest.
"Answer me, Damnit, you made me chase you around, call you, beg you, and now you blame this on me?" Adrian shouted at the top of his lungs; he was furious about everything that had happened to him in the last forty-eight hours.
"I didn't mean to..." Thalia tried defending herself.
"Well, you did it, Thalia ; you freaking did it."
"Just go do whatever it is that you wanted too; I won't call or chase you ever again; I'm no longer Alpha, right? Go meet the Alpha and do whatever the hell you want." Adrian said, storming into his car.
He simply didn't say another word to Thalia and drove off, leaving her there. He hadn't intended that, but her trying to push everything on him when his life was already hard enough was just too much.
He needed a distraction to get him thinking of things—someone he could talk to or call and explain himself. He checked his phone; there was still no text message from her; it had been almost two days.
He felt a certain longing in his chest; he regretted how that night had turned out, but he couldn't do anything about it now. He resisted the urge to call her himself and try explaining things, but not right now.
Deep down, he felt he had lost her, but he couldn't accept it.

Hazel sat down on her bed, a comfortable plush queen-sized bed with four stands by the side. She looked at the bruise on her leg from having fallen down the cliff with Draven , but now he was watching her in hopes that she wouldn't try to be creative with her death.
She examined her leg even more and noticed that the wound she had gotten back in prison had been carefully sewn and stitched properly. She slowly felt the stitches, poking at them once in a while.
She had decided to not try anything as useless as killing herself after she didn't feel completely alone. Draven seemed to want her for something known only to him, and that's what she really wanted to know.
Why did he want her so much that he would risk his life to save her? Hazel wasn't even sure a parent could go that far for their child; at least she knew her parents wouldn't do that for her.
She tried standing up and almost tripped over; her muscles were sore and swollen in some places. She stood up hesitantly and began waking around the room.
Babe wasn't even sure what she was looking for; she remembered the elderly doctor telling her to rest in bed and try not to leave for about two days for her body to completely heal.
But what they didn't know was that she had been given a special body; she hadn't told anyone about this; not even her parents knew about this, but her wolf had the powers of healing and restoration.
She could easily heal herself from her injuries and just sneak around the mansion, but she didn't want to attract any unwanted attention or speak to anyone's curiosity, especially Noah; he was too observing for her liking.
Without thinking much, she found her way outside the door, a long hallway stretched beyond her with a single door at the end. She guessed the room there belonged to Draven. Slowly walking, she began down the hallway, trying her best not to make any sounds.
The more she walked, the more she noticed the paintings and murals on the walls; they were exquisite and well depicted. On the opposite side of the hallway was a picture of white, hairy old men; they seemed to wear clothing not from these times.
Either they were the founders of the pack or it was just an art painting. The more she walked, the more she saw certain similarities between them till she saw Draven, or what looked like a much younger version of himself.
He looked really handsome in his youth, is what she thought to herself till her eyes saw the next and last painting. "Adrian?" She said out loud, nearly stumbling, but there he was, his painting depicted on the wall.
"I see you've met my nephew already," Draven said, walking up from behind her.
