Chapter 91

Autumn

There was a meeting in the middle of the night in Oliver’s conference room, and for my safety I was not to leave his side. It may have been only two days ago since they attempted to kidnap me, but the Third Seat was not done…. He was harassing Oliver’s family by using EbonyMoon…. It seemed that because he held power now, there were not only people after his life, but mine as well tenfold. Killing me would hurt him, and he wouldn’t let that happen.

His Uncle Max came with his beta to this meeting, and Chase stood next to Oliver with his hands behind his back. The new Elders Oliver had hired were here too, however they were all pretty quiet. They looked to Oliver and Max to start the meeting, while I held his hand.

“Winston already sent me this briefing report, and I came as soon as EbonyMoon got the war act approved. Are you sure about this Oliver? It isn’t your fight.” Said Max, sliding a file our direction.

“You’re family, it would be wrong to let you go into battle without support.” Said Oliver.

“I intend on just challenging their Alpha and being done with it.” He mumbled, but my mate was immediately against it.

“You aren’t as strong as Alpha Ebony.” Said Oliver.

“Then what am I to do?” He growled. “Read their findings.”

“I already did on the way here this morning. Brutus Is behind this, but without proof, I can’t just drive to his pack and issue a challenge. I know I’m stronger than him, even without my powers.” He growled a little, but Marcos shook his head.

“Alpha that may be so, but I swear this sounds like a trap. Why would a pack a state over bother another? He hasn’t communicated with us since your father was alive…”

“We’re going in circles. Uncle Max call the fucker if you please.” He said losing his patience.

It rang twice and was slid to Oliver, “This is Alpha Damion of EbonyMoon.” He said as Oliver does.

“This is the Fifth Seat, Alpha Oliver the Dead One of GrayMoon, and you have disrespected. Your people attempted to assassinate my mate, as well as my uncle. I warn you to retract your war claim, and nothing will come to you.” He said without a growl, but I could tell he wanted to. I could hear allot of shuffling around.

“Nobody said anything about ancient lines.” He sounded clearly upset.

“Well, you’re in luck, because you antagonized two. My mate is a Frosted One.” He said with a grin, and I elbowed him.

“…So you didn’t throw the body in acid?” He asked.

“You’re dead Damion if you don’t surrender and come clean.” He said leaning back in his chair.

“I can’t. At first I was giving Maximus a hard time because I wanted rights to his cabin, but he can keep it.” He said swiftly. “It isn’t worth dying over… Lady damnit.”

“That’s My cabin my grandfather built. If you would have ASKED we could have worked out something, but now if you ever set foot in New Apple, I’m sending you home in a jelly jar.” He warned. “Now spill what you know.”

“I- we- If I told you outright, I would be a dead man anyway. But I’ll put it like this: Whoever you thought paid me to borrow one of my Warriors did.” He said hanging up.

“I can’t do anything with that.” Growled Oliver. “Literally everyone and their left ass cheek wants my mate dead.”

“Oliver I won’t lie and say you aren’t wrong, but I won’t live my life in fear.” I said trying to look serious. I was Luna, and as Luna if I said anything at this table, they would expect me to be stern and stoic. I wasn’t afraid, and I wasn’t weak.

“He pretty much confessed though that he was bribed.” Said Max, going back to the subject at hand. “I want my niece and daughter safe…. I hate that I had to basically run to you and loose a bit of face.”

“You’d have done the same for me. I’ll have my secretary send off some papers for you. You’re going to be an extension of GrayMoon just in case, that way if he messes with you again, he’d be messing with me proper, and no one would have issue with me just killing him.” Grumbled Oliver.

“Even if he has Third Seat backing, my understanding is that he isn’t a true council member.” Said Alpha Max, and Oliver nodded.

“He stole it from Autumn’s grandfather. The king himself appointed those of ancient bloodlines as the heads of the council, but Brutus wants more… how much more I can’t say, but he’s doing this to try and muscle me into being his lapdog.” Grumbled Oliver.

A laptop with an already in progress Zoomie meeting was put on the table by I think Chase’s assistant. I didn’t see him much, if at all, but he bowed leaving out. The two men on the call looked like Oliver, only their skin tone and eye colors were a little different. One was a dark cinnamon with green eyes. The other was pale, but with duller blue eyes than my mate. Their titles on their desk said they were the Alphas of Cream and WestMoon.

“Nephew, we called about Alpha Max.” Said the paler of the two, Alpha Rein. “I don’t want his incompetence affecting your mother.” He grumbled.

“I have it handled.” He snapped, but the other, Alpha Garry of CreamMoon chuckled.

“Cut him some slack.” He said leaning back in his desk. “We call to let you know we are also backing Uncle Max.”

“I already handled it, but while you’re here, I’m a council seat now.” Said Oliver with a small smile. Alpha Rein interlaced his fingers.

“Oh we know. We sent you Article Z-14.8’s already. My Delta’s idea.” He said casually, and I had no idea what they were talking about.

“That’s what I just sent Uncle Max…. you keep your sovereignty, but in an act of war I’m in charge. You’d have done the same for me.” he grinned.

“Alpha, are you sure you want to be responsible for so many? Ultimately, if any of them die, you may have to take control of their pack?” Asked Chase, and Oliver nodded.

“Chase, I understand your concern, but I doubt anyone would be stupid enough to harass a delegate of four packs.”

Alpha Garry chimed in. “Not to mention that lil’ Olly’s a chair holder with an ancient title. We do what we must for our pups and pack. I know it looks like a coward’s move… but I’m realistic. I’m Weaker than Damien. If he decided to attack me in the night and challenge, he would win. I don’t know what would happen to Barbara or my pups. I CAN’T Risk that.”

“I’d rather be a glorified Beta than my little Saydi become a toy for one of his unmated males….” Said Alpha Rein. “She’s 19 now and hasn’t found her mate… he already contacted me, pressuring me to have her mate his youngest grandson.”

“Why didn’t you tell me that sooner?” Demanded Oliver.

“Because I thought I could handle it. I thought it would blow over, but-”

He was cut off by Alpha Max. “No matter what you did, it was wrong. He’s been manipulated by the Third Seat, probably thinking he’d let him keep all that power.”

“As if. Owning three packs would probably get him killed in his sleep.” Oliver mumbled.

I had an idea. “We might not be able to prove he did anything…. But we could probably do something unofficial to warn him… I don’t think telling will work.” I said looking down, but there was a gentle kiss on my forehead.

“I like it. Winston.” Said Oliver, and a very pale Shadow Warrior appeared.

“He is busy with an order my lord, but how may I serve?” He bowed.

“Igloo, was it?” He asked and the man nodded. I could see why he was named that. He looked almost like a Frosted One if not for his miss matched light blue and almost black eye.

“I have a job for you.” He said casually and the man bowed again.

“What do you have in mind?” he asked.

“I’ll talk to you two later. Your signal may not be secure. Everyone out.” He commanded, and even Beta was asked to leave. I was too…. Whatever it was, the only two who would know would be Oliver and Igloo.

“I’ll take Luna home.” Said Chase.

“I would like to escort her as well Alpha.” Said Elder Marcos.

“Stay there with her, as well as one Shadow. You all have full authority to search all packs and covens I lead as you see fit.” He said casually.
