Chapter 110
Autumn
The midnight skyline of New Apple was always a sight to behold. With so many lights down below, it looked like we were heading into a star field. What I also liked was that we were the only passengers. The plane landed and I was glad that Oliver had his own private plane, because we had a lot of souvenirs. My mate slept the entire flight, because I knew he tried hiding that he was looking out for me… and I was grateful.
Brutus was a real threat, especially since his subordinate Jang was moved a seat because of Oliver. That man seemed to have a really specific grudge against us, even though I knew we did nothing to warrant it. It wasn’t my mate who even Wanted to join the Council, but no one could go against the will of the King.
And now we had knowledge of a man who was stronger than him. That made me wonder just How could someone like that exist, yet he did. I wouldn’t dwell on that though, because the chances of us encountering such a man is probably impossible. He may have said that our fates were intertwined with him, but I believe he meant that we would advise the King, nothing else.
Oliver yawned when the plane landed, however there was no air in his lungs. I understood why he did that, because he could kill with his power.
“Autumn, could you pass me a glass of water? I think I flexed my fangs in that yawn.” He asked sounding undead, and I handed it to him. As he drank it turned black, but I wasn’t surprised by that.
“I actually found out something interesting about why you can make sound without air. It’s magic vibrating the air after it leaves your mouth.” I smiled.
“Oh yeah, we did pass the undead section on the way out. The Tyrant King made them, dragons, vampires and ghouls… I wonder would Saiyoken know more.” He wondered getting our bags.
“He probably would…. Grandpa too, but it might be a touchy subject. Like, someone as strong as the Timeless One was scared to talk about it.” I said talking his free hand.
“I won’t ask them anything, don’t worry.” He said with a small smile.
The moment we got out and on the ground, Penny landed on her broom, ran, and hugged us both.
“Welcome back my lord and lady!” she screamed happily.
“We missed you too, alright.” He patted her head, and she tired taking the bags, but I knew my mate wouldn’t have let her do that. He dodged her hands getting the handle a few times. “How did everything go while we were gone?” He asked to distract her and get to the car.
A dark blue SUV was ready for us, as we had too much stuff to fit in his favorite car. This also worked in our favor, because we could let her ride in the backseat.
“A strange wolf with red hair came looking for his wife, but he found nothing and was sent on his way. I let him sniff around, but with his nose, ears, and eyes blocked with magic, he wouldn’t know of the prisoner even if he looked at her in the eyes.” She said innocently.
“Good. She has been returned right?” He asked and she nodded. We got onto the interstate, and traffic was heavy, but flowing. Streets here were so crowded; I don’t know how I forgot about that.
“She was returned a little while ago, brainwashed to believe she went on a vacation to Argentina, we even gave her a real plane ticket that the goblins made, and if he asks for footage, the one who got on the plane was Agatha shapeshifted as her.” She smiled.
“Very Good.” He said as if he were praising a child. If she was a wolf, her tail would be wagging with the innocent expression on her face, but that they went through those many hoops showed how serious they were about it.
The drive was uneventful, but we still got a call nonetheless. It was Brutus.
“Alpha Oliver.” Said my mate.
“I know you recognize my number… I must apologize…. My mate’s disappearance had nothing to do with you or yours… but I can smell so much magic on her… and I have made so many enemies…” He said quietly.
“I would say I felt sorry for you but I don’t. I’m not your enemy, but know me and mine will do nothing for you if you ask for whatever curse she picked up to be dispelled.” He said nonchalantly.
“But you lead Two covens, surely we could negotiate a price.” He said with a frown in his voice. he wasn’t saying what he wanted to hear, but I knew my mate. Brutus was the reason I was always in danger… there was no way that he would help him.
“Two fractured covens that lack Real coven leaders. I’m only a wolf, and South Americon has Old Magic beyond what the young girls can do. As it is I’m spending money on finding Real witches that can teach them.” He said truthfully enough that it would fool me if not for what I could see them do myself….
“I guess then I should try contacting other sources then. I was told that a SSS class witch would have to dispel this, but that would mean that I would have to find one of royal blood… and they want nothing to do with wolves. Thank you anyway.” He said humbly, and hung up before Oliver could say anything else.
“Do you think you did the right thing?” I asked and Oliver rolled his eyes at me.
“Fuck him. If he didn’t want an enemy, he shouldn’t have made one. He thinks purebloods should only rule, and I disagree. I also disagree with him attempting to kill you, the one The Goddess Made For Me, in exchange for some whore who will warm the beds of many males.” He grumbled the last part.
I looked down, feeling foolish for saying anything. Oliver Was right…. He attempted to assassinate me. He is the reason why my bloodline cannot rule, and I don’t have any great aunts or uncles that would have been Frigus’s brothers and sisters…because of This man, and I had a modicum of pity for him.
“You’re a good person Autumn. That you’re willing to forgive tells me this… but you also make a point. He is the reason why Phillip is Exiled. He is Why he has only one living pup. He is why I Cannot allow you out of my sight or make any more mistakes… may they Both Burn in Hell until even the Horned One is Bored of them.” He said letting his eyes become his wolf’s.
He held her hand below the dashboard and it glowed purple a moment before it vanished as soon as it came. I could bet money that he’d cursed them…
“Oliver…” He cut me off.
“No. Some people need to learn their lessons the Hard Way, and one day he will rub the right wolf the wrong way. It’s only a matter of time in his bloodlust that he may anger the King, or his kin.” He said getting off the interstate. Winter Really didn’t like it, but she said nothing, agreeing with him. However, I didn’t.
“What you do is for me… and for that I do thank you. Just be careful.” I said illuding to the Council. “If anyone caught on… you’d have to answer to the King.”
“To be Fair I Know that the King knew who stole Brutus’s mate, but he will not help him. No one will unless they Have to. He’s like a spoiled, fucking child, He’s killed pups, mates, lied to be in that seat, and Literally stole it from Phillip. As long as everything goes his way, he’s happy. The moment Anything he doesn’t like happens, he has a fucking tantrum that everyone around him suffers for.” He grumbled.
“Fuck him.” Said Winter, taking over a second.
“Yeah someone agrees with me.” He smiled.
We got out the car a little after that, and he got all our bags. The packhouse had a shine to it, and most of the ranked werewolves and witches were in the packhouse to greet us.
“Welcome back Alpha and Luna!” They all shouted, and there was confetti raining from the ceiling.
“You guys didn’t have to do this.” Said Oliver, but Clint disagreed, putting his hand on his shoulder.
“Here, have some booze. You probably can’t get hammered because you’re dead, but you can still have fun with us.” He grinned.
He put it in my hand. “Then my Luna will be merry for me. Go on ahead. Live a little.”
“Oh, I intend to.” I smiled, and there were woo’s,
