Prelim 2
The sergeant got up from his seat and went into the witness box. Before giving his testimony, he placed his hand on the bible that was brought to him by the court clerk and said, "I swear by Almighty God that the evidence I shall give shall be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

I got a call from Miss. Belov at about 11pm on the said day. She said she had been brutally assaulted and needed help. I quickly arrived at the hotel in the company of a few other officers and with the help of the hotel management, I got into the room.

Miss. Belov had fallen unconscious when we arrived, she had bruises on her body and her clothes had been completely torn. We quickly rushed her to the hospital and she was revived. I spoke with the doctor and he confirmed that she had indeed been sexually assaulted. Her medical results are here with me and will be submitted at the end of my testimony.

I went back to the hotel and got the footage that I have here with me. It shows when the accused got into the hotel room with Miss. Belov but we couldn't get the footage of him leaving her hotel room since it appears to have been erased. The accused is someone from a prominent family so I wouldn't be surprised if he had the footage deleted."

Cindy and Jack looked at each other and smiled. How convenient for them that the footage had been erased and Jack was the seeming culprit. It was obvious that the officer had been bribed. Cindy wasn't worried about that though because she knew that the truth would come out in the end.

When the officer got down, Lily's attorney invited the waiter to give his own testimony. After taking his oath, the attorney said to him, "Tell us what happened on the fourteenth of June when Miss. Belov and the accused came to the Blue Sky hotels."

"On the fourteenth, of June, Miss. Belov arrived at the hotel and booked a room at 4. pm. About an hour later, Mr. Grant arrived and they both sat facing each other as they discussed. After a while, Miss Belov ordered a bottle of wine.

I noticed she didn't touch the drink but only Mr. Grant did. After a while, she got up from her chair and was in severe pain, she beckoned on me to help her but before I could get to where she was, Mr. Grant ran to her and led her up to her room.

I don't know what happened after that but I didn't see him come out of the room until my shift ended."

The attorney thanked the waiter and said, "Your honor, it is very clear that the accused committed the crime. He saw an opportunity and decided to grab it while forgetting that it is unacceptable to force himself on a woman.

The truth is that the accused has a reputation. He is known for chasing anything that wears a skirt, even his employees are not exempted from his frequent harassment.

I want to call on Miss. Eve Drew. She used to work as a secretary in the company of the accused. Let us listen to her as she narrates her ordeal in his hands."

Jack's former secretary went up to the witness box. After claiming to be an atheist, she was asked by the judge to make an affirmation. Raising one of her hands, she said, "I do solemnly, sincerely, and truly declare and affirm that the evidence I shall give shall be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth."

"Tell this honorable court what you went through in the hands of the accused." The attorney said.

The former secretary made eye contact with Jack before she began, "About three months ago, I got a job at Star Entertainment and I was chosen to be Jack's secretary. I had only worked for one day when he indicated his desire to have sex with me.

He took me to his house during work hours under the pretext of dropping something off and tried to have his way with me. I had already heard about his reputation before I started working at his company.

I didn't want to give in to him but I didn't have a choice. I was afraid of what would happen, so I let him sleep with me. Two weeks later he fired me for no reason and hired a new secretary. Later I got to hear that he was in an amorous relationship with his new secretary."

Jack's father stared at him at this point and felt ashamed. If what the secretary said is true, then his son was worse than a jerk and if Cindy was as amazing as his sons claimed, then Jack did not deserve her at all.

When the secretary was done speaking, the judge asked Cindy if she would like to cross-examine her and Cindy said yes but not yet.

It was at this point that Lily and Chris realized that Cindy was Jack's attorney. Chris stared at Cindy in surprise. He felt like laughing at himself when he recalled the things he had said to Cindy because the fact that she was representing Jack was more than enough proof that she had explicit trust in him.

He couldn't help but think that Jack was a lucky man. With the reputation he had, any other woman in Cindy's shoes would have doubted his innocence. If he hadn't helped Lily to plan everything, he would have also believed that Jack was guilty.

Lily's attorney summarized by saying, "Your honor, it is now clear to everyone in this court that the accused is a man who lacks self-control and this goes to explain why he sleeps with any woman that comes his way.

He knew that Miss. Belov is a decent woman who would never allow him to sleep with her which was why he quickly offered to take her into her room even when she didn't ask for his help. He took advantage of the situation and forcefully had his way with her.

With all the evidence presented before this honorable court, I humbly request that the accused be made to stand trial so he can be punished for his crimes and my client can get the justice she deserves."

Lily's attorney sat down when he was done speaking while the judge stared at Cindy and asked, "Would the defense counsel like to make an opening statement?"

Cindy got up and replied, "Yes, your honor."
