When I got home, Howard was sitting on the couch, dressed in casual clothes, looking very relaxed.
"The busy person is back."
Hearing Howard's displeased tone, I curled my lips and quickly walked to his side.
"Why are you unhappy?"
Howard snorted coldly and didn't look at me.
"Am I not worth introducing to others?"
So it was about today's dinner!
I tugged at Howard's collar, then spread my legs and sat directly on his lap.
Howard was stunned and instinctively wrapped his arms around my waist.
I cupped his face and gave him a good rub.
"This dinner was arranged by my college classmate. Do you know who else I saw?"
"Who?"
"The manager of the business department, Ethan."
As soon as I said this, Howard frowned.
"Your college classmate is hanging out with Ethan?"
I played with my hair, smiling nonchalantly.
"Yes, my classmate is an intern in the business department. She's about to be evaluated for a permanent position."
Howard tilted his head and looked at me.
"So you mean you want me to pass her?"
I blinked.
"Why would you think that?"
"You're not one to meddle in other people's business. If you're saying this, you must have your reasons."
I sighed. Howard really knows me well.
"Indeed, I want you to help. This classmate of mine had a good relationship with me back then. It seems she's with Ethan now, but I still want to help her."
Howard was puzzled and stared at me intently.
"Why? I know Ethan, he's a lecher. If she's with him, it means your classmate doesn't respect herself. Why do you still want to help her?"
My memory flashed back to college when I had a dispute with a female classmate.
She was about to get physical, and even Joseph didn't help me.
Only Layla rushed forward and stopped her.
Just for that kindness, I should help her.
"She once helped me, so I want to help her this time. In my impression, she has always been a diligent girl. Now that she's with Ethan, she must have her difficulties. Maybe if she passes her internship and gets a job, she won't be manipulated by Ethan anymore."
Howard sighed and reached out to rub the top of my head.
"You, you're too soft-hearted. Your personality is really not suited for the business world."
I buried my head in Howard's shoulder, acting coquettishly.
"That's why I have you. I can be the woman behind you."
Howard enjoyed my weakness. No man can refuse his beloved woman acting coquettishly.
"Alright, leave it to me. I'll handle it."
"But..."
Just as I was about to be happy, this turn of phrase caught me off guard.
"But what?"
I hooked my arms around Howard's neck and spoke in a soft voice.
"But, Mrs. Wilson, when asking for a favor, shouldn't you show the proper attitude?"
Howard's words were ambiguous, his lips brushing against my ear, tickling me.
My face turned red instantly. I lifted my head and planted a kiss on Howard's cheek.
"Is this enough?"
Howard frowned, pretending to be serious.
"Not really, this isn't even enough for interest. It seems Mrs. Wilson isn't sincere."
