"Kathie, you're amazing! You can guess everything I'm thinking!"
Matthew was excited. He raised his hand, and I understood.
We high-fived to celebrate.
But Howard, standing nearby, gave me a hostile look.
"Since we have a direction now, you can handle the rest. After all, I don't know anything about painting."
Matthew nodded.
"Don't worry, I'll take care of the rest."
After that, Howard ate without looking up, completely ignoring me.
For a moment, the atmosphere was awkward. Matthew took a few bites and then excused himself, saying he had something to do.
I looked at Howard, feeling a bit annoyed.
"What are you doing? The gallery is also your business. Now that we have a solution, what are you unhappy about?"
"And Matthew is your partner. What you're doing is really making things awkward for him!"
Facing my questioning, Howard got a bit angry too. He put his spoon down on the table and looked straight at me.
"Kathie, I'm holding back my anger right now, and you still have the nerve to get mad at me!"
I was getting angry too.
"Some people just don't like making money and prefer being cheated on!"
"I don't want to be cheated on, but someone told me you two are getting too close!"
I frowned. Howard's face was full of anger, and it was clear he wasn't lying.
"Too close? Howard, show me the evidence. Let me see which idiot is spreading rumors!"
Howard didn't say anything. He took out his phone, and there was a photo.
It was a picture of Matthew and me during a class at Celestial University. From that angle, it did look quite intimate, but it was obviously taken secretly.
I curled my lips and sneered.
"Sienna gave this to you, didn't she?"
As soon as I said that, Howard's expression became a bit unnatural.
That day in class, I had already noticed someone taking pictures secretly. I thought they had no ill intentions, but I didn't expect them to show it to Howard and stir up trouble.
"I knew it. You still favor Sienna in your heart. After all, without me, you two are a perfect match. Since you don't trust me, there's no need for me to explain. Let's just break up and go our separate ways!"
After saying that, I put down my spoon and got up to leave.
Howard stood up and hugged me from behind.
His voice was muffled, and I couldn't tell what he was feeling.
"Kathie, it's not that I don't trust you. I just feel insecure. I don't want other men around you."
It would have been better if he hadn't said that. His words made me even angrier.
"Howard, do you hear yourself? You keep a scheming woman by your side, and I haven't said anything, right? I don't believe you can't see through her little tricks. You're just enjoying it."
"I'm just helping my lifesaver, and you get angry over and over again. Don't be so unreasonable!"
Seeing that I was really angry, Howard got a bit flustered.
"Kathie, you know that's not what I mean. If you don't like Sienna, I'll fire her right away, okay?"
When people are extremely speechless, they really laugh.
"Howard, just because I don't want to spell everything out doesn't mean I'm stupid. Sienna's family has their own company. Does she have to work for you? I don't believe you don't know why your mom wants her around you!"
